This is a good quality cafe ...service is average but its in a busy touristic area The chestnuts cake is excellent and good coffee ☕️ when we visited in the evening

I never put bad reviews, but the ladies working at the counter really deserve one star, so I will make an exception :) Asked for a small hot chocolate, they gave me a large and tried to charge me for that. When I told them I wanted a small they said it was really way too small (why is it on the menu then and for almost 4 euros?) I asked for a small again and they just poured half and handed me a sip of cold chocolate. The picture is what I got for 4 euros. Very bad service.

Had the sacher torte and apple streusel with warm vanilla sauce. Sacher torte was dry but the streusel was good. My waitress gave herself a two euro tip and I didn’t realize this until she left the table after giving me my change. (Service fee already included for table service. I was planning to leave a cash tip when we left but now i plan to never return to this place.) I don’t recommend this place but suggest you pay with credit card if you do visit.

I was told that this place makes one of the best strudel in Vienna, so I decided to try it. Well, the strudel was fine, but definitely not the best one I’ve ever tried. The filling was dry and too sweet. But I guess this is the way it’s done in Vienna and it’s just a traditional recipe. However they should definitely work on the service they provide. The staff was very reluctant to work with clients, and it spoils the whole impression of a beautiful cafe.

We tried Sachertorte with unsweetened whipped cream and Viennese coffee here. We liked it and recommend it. The waitress at the service was also nice.

This used to be my favourite place to have a Sachertorte. But my visit yesterday was completely disappointing! The cake was dry, small, and the chocolate much lighter colour than it should be. The cake came with a huge amount of cream, probably to camouflage the cake itself. It is obvious that they are either using cheaper ingredients or less chocolate than they used to. Years ago Sachertorte in this place used to be much more moist. Price for 2 coffees and 2 cakes is around 24€, which is ridiculous for such quality.

Love coming back to this place every time I’m in Vienna. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or coffee. It’s very central as well and the staff is helpful and friendly.

The apple strudel with vanilla sauce was the best we have tried in Vienna. The sacher torte, a traditional viennese dessert wasn’t for my taste, but others might enjoy it it. It was too sweet for my taste. We also tried the lemon tart, which was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. The cakes came with a small glass of water on the house.

Wonderful little cafe with a beautiful spiral staircase leading you upstairs to the seating area. The apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce was phenomenal in flavor and the presentation was fabulous as well. Cappuccino was absolute perfection! Highly recommend!

If you’re first time in Vienna it’s a nice place to visit. Here you can try Sacher cakeand and apple strudel. Coffee is nothing special, price range you can see in the last photo. The biggest plus it’s atmosphere and location in the middle of the tourist center. Enjoy your cakes and have a nice weekend!

A very good tasting walnut cake, it made me think of the cakes my grandma used to do when i was a kid, i recommend it, prices adequate to the quality

Me and my friend went to this confectionery to experience truly Vienna atmosphere. The prices at this place are rather high, and therefore were our expectations. However, the desserts we ordered were obviously not fresh, I would assume from yesterday, and the coffee imo could be better for this price. Also, the stuff was rude and unapproachable, which also spoiled our impression of this place Overall, would not recommend going there, as there are so many other places in Vienna center where you will not be treated rudely and may have much better food at this price.

We visited this café after we had been to 2 that were fully booked. We ordered a sacher torte which is what it is (I actually liked it despite the dryness), a walnut cake and coffee. It is a shame they dont cater for dairy free diets, so no oat milk or anything available. Service was much like the weather at the time I visited - very cold and almost too fast. The whole place is very busy and noisy.

We couldn't leave Vienna without a slice of apple strudel and this was a great spot for it. We shared a strudel slice with custard between us and had a really good coffee to go with it. Black, strong, good sized coffee. 2 coffees and the apple strudel with custard cost us €17. We sat upstairs and it was quiet, which made it a good break from our hectic sightseeing schedule, but there was a lack of ambience in the place anyway. Like going to an old aunties home for tea.

It is way too overrated! I was planning quick mélange and cake here but it was overcrowded and no order - had to wait for table, wait more for someone to take my order, then wait even more for payment. Customer service is in need of improvement - hate to mention names but Dragana really showed a big disregard towards me. I did not visit any other cafe's after that experience here, so I can't say if this is not normal for everywhere else.

This cafe is part of my family. My mother went here for sweets when she was small in the 50s. It's a family tradition. I have beautiful memories of my dear grandfather and I talking and enjoying dressed in my acid washed denim. It has never changed and should never. The cakes are impeccable and decadent.

I wanted to try sachertorte and Google mentioned this place. For €4,80 you have a piece and although this type of cake is not really my style, it was good quality. I enjoyed the view from inside and service was friendly. Can recommend this!

We had some coffee and a dessert hier, and it was really nice, the service was slow, but the atmosphere made up for it, we didn’t have breakfast but we saw some people ordering and it all looked very good, I think that this is a good place to visit, right in the middle of beautiful Vienna.

Coffee was too hot, and nothing special (probably poorly made with less coffee than usual), the waitress didn't understand a word in english, tables were messy. Overall, such places you can find all over Vienna, with better food and coffee and better service.

Very lovely place, close to the cathedral. Relatively cheap, you can get the traditional zacher cake for around 4-5 euros. In other places it costs much more. The atmposhere is great, you feel as if you walked into the previous century. I especially like the coffee pastry-cake and the lemon meringue cake. Overall, this is a good place to feel the atmosphere and spirit of Vienna and to eat some traditional desserts.

Went here this morning with my partner, we ordered a Sacher torte and a apfelstrudel with the vanilla cream. They were both delicious, and the portions were quite big. Prices for both were typical prices that I have found around the city. The waiter who served us was one of the nicest we have ever met during our stay in Vienna, which is something we appreciated a lot. Such nice waiters really improve your mood! The location itself is also very nice looking, it has comfy seats and a good atmosphere. Around 11:30-12:00 it was also almost empty and very relaxing. Before ordering you can also take a look at all the cakes etc. they have (both downstairs and upstairs). They are all very nicely displayed and definitely look tasty and tempting like that. Our experience here was very pleasant and we would definitely recommend this place to someone! (Perhaps also good to know: You can also pay with card here!)

The Sacker cake costs half of the "original", the same taste. The stuff is extremely friendly. The must

Standard deserts quality, fresh, nothing special for such prices, ordinary coffee. Service was slow. Can't pay by card, they want cash. Unfortunately, can't recommend.

Nice setting and helpful staff. The sachertarte was delicious but the apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce was the star. The coffee was not to our taste but their homemade ice tea was refreshing in the warm weather.
