It’s a nice cafe/restaurant but as many people said they need to work out on staff rotation. When the weather is nice, a lot of people will visit and our poor waitress had to manage all these people by herself. Otherwise pleasant atmosphere, decent food and good service

We had the Esterhazy cake which was super sweet but nice and tea & hot chocolate in the lovely outside area. Nothing special but with sun shine a great place to enjoy some drinks and food.

Despite all the bad reviews we had a truly 5* experience. Food was super great, they had many waiters. Everything was fast and smooth. They even joked a little. We had wildboar knödel, schnitzel, beer and a lemonade. Even the price was not so bad considering the unique place.

Really good quality-price and the service is really nice. Good selection and a beautiful way of displaying the food. Although I couldn’t try the little cakes, the look of them was amazing. Very nice views and a comfortable place. Really recommend it.

HERMES Café offers delicious food on a great location. Staff is friendly and the prices are a little bit above average. Considering the beautiful surroundings these prices are justified. I cannot understand why this cafe scores so little in reviews. We were here during winter season so it was not busy.

After the museum tour and outdoor activities, we stopped here for a drink and a bite to eat! We got something to drink and also a tasty flamküche. A nice place to stop if you come all the way here... the surroundings are beautiful, but the dining area itself could be more comfortable! The floor of the restaurant was made of loose stones, which I didn't think were comfortable 😁

Super cute place for a coffee after a walk - beautiful interior, nice staff and food was sensational! All the recommendations for a nice weekend excursion!

Great location and nice villa! The food was reasonably ok, but the service was poor! Wrong drinks brought to us, did not bring the food we asked for, the wait was super long and then the final bill was even incorrect!

The service was very slow, despite it being not crowded. We ordered cake and that never came. Coffee was good, service was horrendous tho.

Amazing food, service under a lot of pressure due to understaffing, very rude and arrogant. Especially a bald bearded man. Never even received our dessert after reminding him twice and had to also remind twice for our initial order. Service ruined the place

The best food ever, but there were a lot of wasps there. I would definitely recommend this place. 👌

Terrible amount of wasps. It was not possible to seat there. They do nothing for that. Zero amount of traps. Etc

Lovely surrounds and the fare ain’t bad. The menu could do with some updating (go, and you’ll know what I mean). Perhaps it was just the luck of the day but we were seated for well over 25 minutes with three staff members looking like they were away with the fairies. We were not approached by any of the daydreaming staff until my friend decided we had been patient for long enough. I don’t need to tell you that 25 minutes twiddling your thumbs is an eternity! And, it’s just not good enough. It’s lucky that they’re a monopoly (there are no other eateries or cafes within the Tiergarten). Oh well...

Best place to spend with your loved-ones... Perfect service, very tasty food, we enjoyed our romantic Picknick so much 🌹

Great location in the middle of the park. Menu is quite varied but some of the dishes are a bit too salty. Service swings between being overwhelmed when busy, to absent when quiet. Overall worth it.

Very bad experience. Food arrived with 2 bugs, one of which was a wasp. I was put off and asked it to be changed to something else but the same cold plate was brought back. The waiter then went on to tell us "I'm sorry if you are too good to take the wasp off your plate" , incredibly rude and condescending. I understand bugs exist, but this attitude is totally unacceptable.

I feel like calling this place a "cafe" sort of does the place a disservice as the fare they offer is utterly top shelf, proper restaurant food. My wife had a salad, soup, and schnitzel and it was far and away the best schnitzel I've tasted in Vienna this whole trip. I had the tagliatelle bolognese with wild boar meet and almost fainted it was so good. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the portion was generous, and the boar meat was tremendous. We visited on a cool, cloudy, April lunchtime, so I cannot speak for how this place operates when super busy. But the dining rooms were full. Staff was attentive. Food brought out quickly. I cannot recommend this place enough. Compliments to the chef. What a great meal.

In the end I was truly amazed at how this place is still open. Keep your money in your pocket or take them somewhere else. First the food, it did not take long to prepare it and looking at the consistency, my meat dumplings had been frozen for at least 2 days, so not fresh. The other dish, the chicken strips, were chewy, a lot of fat, and one tasted weird. The salad was not washed properly. The soup was ok. Some of the sweets that are in the menu are not there, so we had to check what they had prepared, simply because the waiter could not name them in english. The service is the part that is the most hilarious I have ever experienced. If you see a bald bearded waiter, run away to the next section. Very rude, forgot the order 3 times and I had to call him 7 times to get the order for the main dish. The caffees took forever. Very unprofessional at the way he is taking orders, and 0 motivation to offer a decent service. I am truly amazed how bad it can get and they still get away with it. Better keep your fingers away from this place.
