It’s a nice place to enjoy jazz. Don’t buy a ticket online because then you are stuck with the upper floor “c “ sits which are horrible. Especially C4. You can’t see the stage at all. There are a variety of food and drinks.

I opted for their burger and wedges, which was a delectable combination of flavours that left my taste buds craving more. The presentation was beautiful, and the portion sizes were generous, making for a satisfying meal. In addition, the drink menu offered a diverse selection of fine wines, craft beers, and refreshing cocktails, catering to every preference (because I was driving, I couldn't have any drinks) The organisation and professionalism displayed by the staff (including the sound engineer) at Porgy & Bess were also commendable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, making me feel like a valued guest. The service was attentive and efficient, ensuring that my dining and listening experience was seamless and uninterrupted. My first experience at a REAL jazz club, and it was fantastic! Brilliant place, booking tickets in advance in usually necessary.

The club is nice, the staff is nice, and except the fact that the organisation of the seats was catastrophic (someone was sitting on our seats, then the staff gave us another seats, and still someone else was sitting on the new seats, then the staff gave us another seats and again someone else was on the seats at the end I was thinking that they were doing me a hide camera...... Finally we just got some last free chairs on the bas it was unsuseles to return to see the staff again). The performance was not a jazz but as the club title is "jazz and music", let's say it was understandable (maybe the word "music" after "jazz" means that they can perfome everiting else than jazz). About 60 to 70% of the performance was a one man stand up comedy show in german, so for non German speaking foreigners it was a complete waste of time. It is a pity and a complete joke that the official tourist website www.wien.Info is marketing this club as "one of the best 10 jazz clubs in Europe". I can say that the performance I saw was not a jazz at all (in the few minutes when the musicians were playing music), and for the rest, it was a German language one man comedy performance. The gernam speaking people seems to enjoy the jokes of the performer, I just say for me it was not a jazz performance.

The night was amazing, apart from the behaviour of one of the bartenders, who misinformed us that the place didn't accept debit cards. However, when we ordered second drinks, we were offered the choice from the second bartender...???

A great jazz venue! We did not eat or drink there and enjoyed the live music which was a tribute to Joe Zawinul.

The jazz place in Vienna! A recommendation would be to buy a sitting ticket. Than you are secure that you will have a place with a view at the scene.

I come here whenever I am in Vienna. A great spot for jazz. Food is typical fare. Went tonight for a jazz festival of players graduating from the local conservatory. Awesome talent.

Cozy jazz club in the heart of Vienna. The music was definitely an experience, when you’re new to the genre. Nevertheless, the location was fabulous and the waiters very nice. We enjoyed it!

I’d say get in early because the lines are long outside before the show. Other than that everything was good. Wonderful venue, lively atmosphere, cool drinks. I certainly had a good time. 😊

In 2022, I saw Jojo Mayer play here, and I have to tell you, it was one of the greatest nights of my life, and that day saved the hardest year of my life. Absolutely mindblowing sound quality from the master sound engineer Aaron Nevezie as well, the treble was not so loud it was piercing my ears, bass and mids from John Davis were super clean, and the whole frequency spectrum was insanely balanced. The atmosphere in the club was absolutely surreal, and after 10 years of listening to Jojo, seeing him a meter away and feeling the kick in my heart, it was a night I will never forget. Please please make Jojo play in this club again!

This club is amazing and has history that speaks to you as you enter, You can always expect to hear great music and the musicians that have come through these halls cannot be compared. Strictly all about the music. What a great place and I am honoured to be here!

Great music, good sound but also good kitchen. Just a jazz club you'd want to go to.

One of the best jazz clubs in Vienna, and perhaps in Europe, top musicians, great atmosphere, great food and drinks. On top of all that, a fantastic interior: spacious scene, and 2 bars. There's no better place for live jazz in Vienna at the moment... And Igor Lumpert with Innertextures was fantastic!

Great small venue highly recommended with the right act and easy to get to.. you should book if you wanna seat or arrive early and get a bar stool

Great mood in a chill venue. Thanks to Christoph Huber who made this spot a world hub of good music and positive vibrations. Amnog others Porgy & Bess is also the host of the annual Intercultural Achievement Award organised by the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

One of the best venues in Vienna

What an ideal venue to witness live entertainment! We could only purchase standing tickets and space was limited, there should have been ample room, but human nature prevented this. After the usual half time shuffle things improved But the venue itself is intimate and ideal to witness acts up close... book early for a table!

Great, good sized jazz club that hosts great artists. "Standing room" tickets are offered when the seats are sold out, but beware that it's not especially easy to find a decent spot to stand and still see and hear (there are some such places, but not many).

Great jazz club, but the seat reservation is not provided during the ticket online purchase. When I came in, I found out that all the good seats are already reserved either by club members or people who have bought the tickets earlier than me. I would greatly appreciate, if the reservation were made more transparent.

Having moved to Vienna recently I can say that this is a great spot that brings musicians from all over the world. In 1 month I visited the house around 4 times

An absolutely lovely venue with a stage for live bands. Very good acoustics and view all around. I enjoyed a brilliant jazz band. Food and drinks were very good, service and staff excellent! Good location, easy to find.

Always a good place for nice Jazz concerts, beware of the ones w/ no seats (standing only) during summers though as it can get extremely hot downstairs in the 'performance basement'. 😅

Great little jazz club.

I was there for Dharf Youssef‘s concert and it was such an unforgettable night! Great atmosphere, great music, great audience and good drinks. I recommend it.

It's an amazing mix of modern and vintage in its venue and music. At its core, it's very warm and inviting. The acoustics are nice. The music is amazing. The audience is very pleasant and so are the bar drink prices. It lives.

Great venue, saw Omer Klein and he and his band played for 2:45h. Great ambience, nice staff and really good sound guy working that night.

First, far too expensive for what it offers. Second, very loose about COVID-19 restrictions: too many people without a mask, standing and sitting for the same exorbitant 35€. Shame

Good quality of sound and music, not too much crowd.
