We went to the Leopold Museum to the Gustav Klimt’s “Death and LIfe” and the controversial artist of his time Egon Shiele’s artwork. The museum is located within the museum quarter and is housed in a super modern building. We spent about 1 hour there. Given its price although it was a lovely museum, I would personally rank other artistic attractions such as the Fine Art Museum - Khunsthistorisches way before the Leopold. It’s a nice experience but it’s not a must especially if you’re on a budget.

Such was the level of detail that I did not have much pain power left for the rest but I did do a walk through of the rest and was not disappointed. This museum is definitely worth the price of the ticket. The only negative was a guided tour group, which in my opinion was far too large for the size of the rooms. I felt that took away from the enjoyment of some of the pieces as once the group was in any of the rooms, they completely took over the whole space. The guide also spoke very loudly. I should think that for such a modern museum there would be an alternative to shouting. I had earphones in and was listening to music and I could still hear her. Anyway, I hope that was an isolated incident and that tour groups are not normally that disruptive. I’ll definitely be back for another look next time I’m in Vienna.

Die neue Dach-Terrasse "Libelle" ist frei zugänglich und bietet einen großartigen Blick über die umliegenden Gebäude und Plätze. Kein Konsumzwang aber die Möglichkeit, sich einen Drink zu genehmigen. Für die Ausstellungen (Sammlung und manche Sonderausstellungen) des Leopod Museum kann man sich bereits vorher die kostenlose App HEARonymus auf sein Handy laden und die Audioguides (kosten ein bischen was) downloaden. Sehr empfehlenswert, vor allem die Ausstellung "Wien 1900". Unbedingt genug Zeit einplanden.

Extensive collection of Schiele, and currently hosting another 2 beautiful exhibitions. Definitely a must see if you are in love with modern art! On the side note the customer service at the shop, wasn't the great, nevertheless I will be coming back to this little gem in Vienna!

Loved it! I definitely recommend visiting, I feel as though even people who are bored by mainstream galleries would enjoy. Exhibitions of Klimt's and Schiele's are more than voluminous. There is a little bit of everything and everyone can find something they like. I was absolutely amazed by the interior. It's gorgeous and photographers would probably spend an eternity there. (although i am not really sure whether or not you can take a camera with you...? so maybe not)

Went for 'Wien 1900' exibition. Three floors of masterpieces that outline the origins of modernism. A must.

Very good museum! - High Quality collection - Accessible both for both people with a background in arts, as people without. - Beautiful building The art on display is very well explained and often put in a broader perspective of societal currents. Thereby the museum is able to not only provide a better grasp of a piece itself but nicely fits it in a perspective that captures the artist and tailors this within the Austrian/Viennese society

Lovely place. Take into account that you might need a half of the day to see everything.

It is a very attractive place. Many events are held here, and the village is full of vigor. One of the most attractive places in Vienna.

I was lucky when I visited this museum some years ago because it featured a grand exposition on Egon Schiele. The good news is that the museum holds a permanent collection with works by Klimt, Schiele, Kirchner and others, so whenever your visit you will find secessionist and expressionism art at its best.

One of the best museums in Vienna and Austria. Great collection of modern art, with many masterpieces.

This is one of my favorite museums, because of the Schiele collection. But lots more, of course. Located in the museum quarter with other museums, and a central plaza. The bookstore in one of the buildings is great on theory and art. Very comfortable restaurants and cafés in the courtyard. Today a free clasical music concert. Bring your vaccination certificate.

Excellent collection of Viennese Modernist Art & Crafts, including not only paintings and sculptures, but also furniture, ceramics and fittings, as well as architecture. Exceptional!

Good to visit, the collection showings are small compared to other large museums. Can take 1-2 hours for the whole walk through the museum.

Not as big as I thought with a bit confusing layout. It might be better to include a recommended route for amateurs. But nicely kept and tidy. I wish there was more Klimt and the museum shop has limited items regarding Klimt. Most focus was on Schiele's work.

Probably my favorite museum during my stay in Vienna. The best place to admire a bunch of Egon Schiele's work. The 'Wien 1900' exhibit was amazing, except for the fact that one of Schiele's paints used for advertising, it's actually a facsimile, a little bit of a bummer.

A beautiful museum especially about the decades around the turn of the century in 1900. Spacious halls. An important era in art history. Not just paintings, also furniture and statues. I liked the wall with photographs of people originally from Vienna, who are now bywords of European and world history. Lise Meitner, Gustav Mahler, Robert Musil. The first museum where I have seen a number of paintings hanging askew. A test of the viewer's OCD? I resisted the temptation but the force was strong... It appears to be some kind of action or manifestation, yet to be revealed.

Nothing truly extraordinary. The cloak room staff speaks poor English. Otherwise we’re very friendly. Two of four floors were closed as well as the museum’s cafeteria. We needed no more than an hour to go around the exhibitions.

It was a museum where you could see the attention to detail of the curator. I've never been to a museum with different audio guides for different ages, and I was surprised to find a staff member who spoke Korean, which made me feel very friendly and welcomed. However, the process of scanning tickets to enter the cafe seemed quite unnecessary. Overall, the museum was well organized and the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable.

One of the bijoux of the museum is the great collection of Egon Schiele, worth it to see a million times. Also, great secession artists collection. Great book shop to find amazing books. Don’t miss portrait of Wally! Buy your tickets online!!!!

We booked tickets in advance and skipped the queue. The Leopold museum is an interesting one with multiple floors. It’s nice to see some original Klimt and Picasso works but some were very confusing. I’d recommend going here but only in addition to the other museums available in Vienna.

Best free rooftop in the city. The views in the evening are really nice. Once you get inside the MQ Museums, go left and then all the way down and you'll see a big elevator that takes you to the rooftop.

Beautiful collections of Klimt, Schiele and Picasso. Also many other artists with great work. We walked around each floor and we made approximately 3 hours, but we’ve seen everything. The museum is great and have good facilities.

One of the best museums I've ever visited, especially if you're a fan of Gustav Klimt and/or Egon Schiele as I am. I was totally delighted. Besides the richness of the artwork, it was also very interesting that they have explanations about some paitings, about the artists and about art currents. Save up at least 2 hours to visit the whole museum.

You really must visit if you're into early 20th century art. Contains some of Klimt and Schiele's best. Beware the queues at the cloakroom as they insist on any rucksacks being handed on.

This museum is a must if you're a fan of modernism. Compared to overpopulated places like the Belvedere, the Leopold is a no-brainer. It is an incredibly enjoyable museum amd was not too busy on a weekend. The Klimt, Schiele, and Gerstl collections on display were breathtaking. I appreciated going to this museum on the last portion of my trip in Austria because I got to see the landscape and learn a bit of the culture before seeing artwork in museums. There was plenty of space to see the artwork, and the rooms and information were helpful. If you enjoy art and art history, go to the Leopold!

The museum presents a wide range of works from expressionist artists, especially Max Oppenheimer, Gabriele Münter, and my favourite Egon Schiele. You could submit your belongings at the cloakroom free of charge. Less than 3 minutes walk to the public transportation. There‘s big museum shop on the second floor.
