Gorgeous! But somewhere are no cards in English, you need to leave your bags in the special place, and sometimes too dark

I really liked the collection, full of precious stones that I didn't know existed and beautiful clothes that tell the story of a powerful and influential empire like that of the Habsburgs. The workmanship of the jewels is so extraordinary that it leaves you speechless for 5 minutes per piece 🤩.I really recommend the visit together with the Hoffburg

This is a great museum to visit if you only have 2-3 hours available. The audio guide is well worth it, as it gives you a lot of context/background that you won't get from reading the placards. In addition to a wild collection of crown jewels, the Habsburgs' reign over the Holy Roman Empire means that there are lots of Catholic/Christian relics here too, like the supposed Holy Grail, or fragments of the "true cross."

Apparently the most important treasury in the world is a place where you can see many iconic crowns and jewels, for example the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire or the Austrian Imperial Crown. Also, the Treasury is home of one of the pieces of the True Cross. Take an hour or two and visit this treasury.

Surprisingly large this museum contains a large number of vestments, holy relics and imperial items. I'd recommend buying the audio guide for 5 euros so you can appreciate the items in greater detail. Don't be too occupied with taking photos as it's hard to get a nice shot through the glass. If you have the time in Vienna ,this place deserves a visit. Allow 60 mins.

The Imperial Treasury is simply spectacular and is a must see for anyone in Vienna with even a slight interest in history. For me the highlight was the complete coronation regalia of the Holy Roman Emperor - everything from the crown to the mantle to the hose and slippers. They even had the collection of holy relics (including the supposed Spear of Destiny!) used to sanctify the coronations. But the other highlights are almost as amazing from the crown of the Austrian Emperors, the staggeringly grand ewer and basin used to baptise Habsburg infants, to a vessel for unguent carved out of a single enormous piece of emerald. Definitely book in advance - it wasn't too crowded when I went but I think this place is likely to run out of spaces in more busy times of year and you definitely don't want to miss out on this unique collection of treasures.

A great walk through the museum which offers a wide range of exhibits from different periods of the past. Personally, I was most impressed by the embroideries in the last room - the Burgundian heritage, totally mind-blowing and amazing, you don't know if it's painting or embroidery.

Very much hidden and hard to find, but once you’re there it’s fantastic! Great displays and information about the collection of the Hapsburgs’ riches. Unfortunately, when I visited the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire was not there, but there was plenty of other cool stuff to look at. Highly recommend visiting.

I was really surprised by how entertaining and interesting I found this sight! I had already visited the main Vienna attractions but I think the treasury was my favourite. Anyone who loves history - particularly Holy Roman Empire history - will enjoy the wonderfully narrated and extensive audioguides across so many of the exhibits. Really beautiful and unique treasures such as the crown of the holy Roman emperor, the largest cut emerald in the world and shards of the ‘true cross’ and other Catholic relics are all exhibited and described in rich detail. A must visit!

The museum was pleasant, and the staff was friendly. I snapped a few pictures of the jewelry exhibits. It's a museum kids will appreciate, and the restrooms were clean. However, only specific rooms were air-conditioned, and it became quite warm inside.

It was an interesting place, being qble to see the history of The Hapsburg's, HRE, and Vienna. I do go for the sole purpose of seeing the Imperial Crown but unfortunately It was removed for time being :( I would recommend going here for any history lovers.

Amazing place, definitely recommend, we visited on Friday afternoon and the place wasn’t crowded at all. The jewels displaced along with other objects such as pieces of clothing are very interesting. To sum it up, there is just so many things you can see for a fair price.

One of the finest collections of Crown Jewels in Europe, probably second only to the Tower of London. It has the Crown of the Holy Roman Empire, the Austrian Imperial regalia of Rudolph II, but much more. They also allow photos and the guards aren’t intrusive. This and the Kunsthistoriches can’t be missed if you’re in Vienna.

Beautiful but not a large exhibit. Minimalist explanations and texts and they charge extra (5€) for an audioguide. No wait. 14 € entrance for an adult. Closed on Tuesdays.

Despite being a red and white English patriot, this collection beats the Tower of London's Crown Jewels.

A treasury that contains many of the jewels, crowns and artefacts of the empire of the Habsburgs Here one can see a host of relics, including the supposed Holy Lance, Holy Grail (kind of), part of the True Cross etc., as well as the supposed horn of a unicorn. Many of these relics are enclosed in spectacular reliquaries and even if one does not believe in the relics, the artistry of the reliquaries can be enjoyed. The museum also contains the second largest emerald in the world, as well as the crown of Rudolf II, and the much older crown of the Holy Roman Empire.

Beautiful place! We were a group of 3 and got the family pack for audio guides which was way cheaper than getting individual ones. If you have the Vienna Pass, the audio guides are not included, so that’s why we had to pay separately. We spent here well over 3hrs because we wanted to see and listen to all the info provided by the audio guide. We could have made it faster, but it was too interesting and we didn’t want to miss anything!

This is my favorite museum/treasury I have ever visited. It is truly a reliquary of the Holy Roman Empire. If I lived in Vienna, I would buy an annual pass to go here as often as I could. The layout of the treasury is tastefully done. They even have wooden benches you can sit on if you just want to stop to take it all in. The atmosphere created by all the sacred things both religious and temporal is conducive to prayerful transcendence.

An outstanding museum with exhibits from 800 AD -19th Century. My absolute favorite was the cradle for the King of Rome. I was also in awe of the reliquaries for wood piece from Christ's manger and the piece of cloth from The Last Supper. The museum was air conditioned, and organized very well with all exhibits in English in addition to German. Staff on duty reinforced rules for masks 😷 , but were very nice about it. I learned so much from this truly fascinating museum. We bought a combination ticket for this museum and Kunsthistorisches Museum- which was a great deal. I personally liked this museum better, because it was smaller and more manageable to tour. Highly recommend 👌

Authentic treasuries - my eyes were 8-) Amazing royal craftsmanships! Just the right amount of exhibit not to exhaust you. Recommend to spend 1 hour plus. Photos without flash allowed. Locker rooms available. If you liked Schonbrunn Palace, then must see this as well!

Way more than you can imagine. The jewels are beautiful but if you like beautiful clothes or textiles it is more than worth the money!

Great museum! We enjoyed seeing the beautiful collections they have. They have some items with impressive work of art done on gold.

Great museum especially if you're Christian. But some pieces doesn't even have English description which was real bummer for me to understand and appreciate them. For non-German speaking visitors, this could be improved. Also, their audio guide service is lack of some languages. In fact, it supports Chinese and Japanese but still doesn't have Korean for the auido guide, which is out of date considering the huge number of Korean tourists in Wien. I wish I could visit here again with Korean audio guide available someday. I was expecting a lot. Please be reminded it could be hard if you go there without any guide.

In my opinion I think this is the best part of Hofburg. The exhibition is so impressive and high quality. Each room is unique out of the 21 that there are, and it doesn't take much time and effort like visiting the big museums. Unfortunately, when I was there the most beautiful and most expensive crown, it was under scientific examination and I was really sad because I don't have the opportunity to visit Vienna every day. In addition to all the things, there is also a Holly lence exposed, one of three in the world attributed to Saint Longinus. It is probably not the original, but it is historically very significant, because it was owned by the indelible figures of our history, who shed blood for it. Kaiserliche schatzkammer is definitely for the highest rating and all recommendations. The entrance is not expensive and the staff is very kind and patient.

Really nice museum. The collection of reliquaries and jewels is amazing. All of the writeups in each room are very well written and make for an easy learning experience that's actually coherent if you follow along with each one.

This place is impressive, even breathtaking. However in some rooms there aren't the translation in english and I was I little bit disappointed because it was on 4 rooms so I couldn't understand exactly what I was looking at. So despite that, I recommend this place for the one's that want to see beautiful things and especially if you like history !

The audio recording was a great help. Beautiful pieces are restored and worth to be looked at. It took me an hour but i skipped few rooms.

    Wonderful things to look at.

  • 4/5 Cristina P. 9 months ago on Google
It’s a nice collection of valuables, however you do expect more for the price point. The normal ticket doesn’t include audio guide. You have to pay separately another like 5 eur or so which adds up to a total of 17 eur. A little bit too much for what you get to see, in my opinion.

  • 5/5 Elad Ben S. 1 year ago on Google
A lot of magnificent items on display that show the history of craftsmanship and the evolution of fashion in early time as far as 800 AD. Allow one hour to fully enjoy the museum.

  • 3/5 Mirela I. 1 year ago on Google
Entry ticket for adults is 14 euros, the museum is not that large. It contains a lot of religious artefacts besides the jewelry pieces like crosses, paintings and clothes. An interesting experience but I wouldn't recommend it due to the fact that it's a relatively small museum, you won't spend more than 30-40 minutes there.

  • 5/5 Julia V. 1 year ago on Google
The place is located inside of the Hofburg palace. The place is not big but it worth the visit. The collection is very interesting and well aranged. Some things are amazing. It took us about an hour. I assume that if you take audio guide it will take your more time.

A nice and historical museum contains treasures, golds and other properties of the king of the ancient Austria which is really majestic with super kind staff in the reception.

  • 5/5 Nathan R. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing experience for sure! There is a myriad of history to walk through and observe. My son learned so much information that he is still parsing through it in his brain and with all the pictures he took. I'd recommend to get the joint ticket to also see the natural history museum across the street. It will save you some money.

  • 5/5 Clara P. 2 years ago on Google
The museum is beautiful and the exhibited pieces are shown in the perfect light to bring out the brilliant fabrics and stones. So much history and wealth in one place, especially if you read up on the people whom these jewels belonged to.

Very unique place. Have to see! Diamonds, golds, velvet since 12th century. One hour is needed general. Watch for climate in there, no fresh air because treasures.
