Incredibly well curated, carefully archived and researched. The exhibitions about the past, culture and all the aspects are presented in a way that everyone, history buffs, nonexperts, young and old alike, may find something fascinating, illuminating and memorable at the museum.

The security personal was walking and standing behind my back each and every second of my visit. As a matter of fact it was harrasment. After we leave the place, I found out they were having the same behavior with my wife, so I decided to write to the museum manager (or security manager I don 't remember) stating my complaint, and instead of looking at the facts or solving the situation, he told me I was lying. INCREDIBLE.... A PLACE I WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN IN MY LIFE. How curious, of all the places I could visit in Europe, this was the only place in which I felt direct discrimination It is expensive, by the way. It does not worth the money for what you are going to find

Amazing amount of information and relics regarding Jewish history through the war. Well worth a trip. Also the ticket allows entry to both museums which are roughly 10 minutes walk from each other.

It's a must see museum. Nothing prepared us for the enormous quantity of Judaica Objects. Most of them were taken from Jewish synagogues all over Austria during the Holocaust. Here on display were the items that weren't melted. I liked the Antique Menorah, the giant Mezuzah and the Hebrew clock. It's a museum you must visit.

MUST-SEE IN VIENNA Everyone needs to go to a Jewish Museum in their lifetime. They are incredibly educational for anyone interested in learning about history and how it applies to the current day. In this particular museum, you explore the relationship between Vienna and Judaism. There is a long and interesting history that binds these two together. It is affordable to go in and worth every moment of time spent inside. The gift shop is lack-luster, but I didn’t go looking for souvenirs.

Really interesting museum about the history of Jews in Vienna and Austria. It covers in depth the early medieval history as well as after the Holocaust. It is touching how open they are about Austria’s own complicity. They have great materials about 19th century Jewry in Austria too.

Main building of the Jewish museum in Vienna (there's one more at Judenplatz). Comprehensive history of the Jewish community in the city plus a brief overview of the Holocaust. We left feeling there could have been much more to say and show at the museum.

The Jewish Museum of the City of Vienna is an amazing museum. Whenever I travel, I enjoy visiting the local Jewish Museums. What I really liked at this museum is the fact that there are lots of info about the Second World War in Vienna, Freud and about the Interwar period in Vienna. This museum has lots of interesting objects, but also lots of info about the life and legacy of the Jewish Community in the city of Vienna. Totally recommend this museum, as it is a must for people who want to discover more about their heritage or simply enjoy discovering and better understanding the Jewish Community of Vienna. S.P.

There are 2 buildings, I recommend starting with the one from the judenzplatz as it explains things that are relevant for the second location. I recommend the cafe from the second location, it has nice healthy vegetarian dishes for a good price and a day menu for 8 euros with a small main dish and a soup (oktober 2023). There is a lot of reading so for young kids it's not really interesting. Also, for the first location, don't miss the room with the archaeological site of the synagogue, I almost passed it without realizing.

Beautifully interesting museum! A lot of information about vienna’s jew culture since ww2 with modern exhibitions from our time also. It’s a small museum but with the ticket you can also visit the holocaust museum in Judenplatz.

Such a needed museum for all generations. Be sure to give yourself enough time to travel across town to the 2nd museum which is covered on your ticket purchase. Came away with an even deeper appreciation for the Jewish community (brothers and sisters in faith and oppression) from generation to generation. The rich yet painful lessons provided here need to be shared- now to prevent history from repeating itself.

Such a huge disappointment. This museum is so negative, bleak, disturbing, even grotesque. There should have been so much interesting info about Jewish life and history in Vienna, and instead, it's just...weird.

The main Jewish museum of Vienna, located in the 1st district. The building architecture wise is really well done. The restaurant serves very tasty kosher food and there is a little museum shop. The exhibitions are expanded in three floors. I saw the exhibition related with the communism which was quite interesting. The rest I didn’t like so much compared to other Jewish museums I have visited. Ticket is 12€ including the visit to the synagogue and to the Jewish institute.

I like to read about the WW2 and Auschwitz and this was a fascinating place to visit. There are items and information before the Holocaust and after, how the jewish community was seen then and how it is seen nowadays.

Nice location but the museum is rather boring unless you are a vienna native or german speaker, some more interactive/visual aspects would make it better.

They were installing a new exhibit, so a few rooms were closed, but the permanent collection is beautifully displayed with plenty of information and explanation of artifacts in several languages. There was also a beautiful photography exhibit.

One of the two Jewish museums in Vienna containing artefacts and trinkets with detailed descriptions and their importance in history and the Jewish culture. With the entrance ticket, you can visit the other Jewish Museum within 4 days for free.

Incredible museum of the more modern Jewish Viennese history. Not a huge museum, but the ticket also gets you into the Judenplatz Museum of medieval Jewish history in Vienna. Strongly recommend going the both in the same day.

The museum is lovely and full of rare historic artifacts that will enthrall you. But besides the Jewish shop filled with beautiful cook books and hilarious hipster imitations of geniuses and influencers like Albert Einstein, one must visit the cafe Eskeles that is inside. This cafe serves delicious and wholesome vegetarian food based on the Jewish Cuisine that we all love. There is one or two fish dishes available. The cafe serves traditional food with there modern twist and anything I've tried on there menu has been delicious. I highly recommend there sweet potato burger and challenge you to eat it with your hands if you can. There staff is so friendly and there owners are completely hands on.

A lots of information, sometimes too much information that you cannot bare anymore. Should be more concentrate due to traveling and time consuming while visiting the museum. Synagog illustration nice and special shows too, the second half was also good and gives you the opportunity to have more experience.

Cool place and very nicely organized. They should control how many people are inside at a time. The place was busy and bustling with people and one guy was not even wanting to wear a mask even though the security asked him to but he was just taking advantage of being handicapped. Crazy.

(Translated by Google) The museum is very interesting, but two-part. That is not bad, but one part is in the city center right next to shops and the other part is on Judenplatz, a 10-20 minute walk away. It is also not written that and how to get to the other part. Without a guide, you don't know your way around so well that the museum / museums have not been arranged in a very orderly manner. There is no timeline and you get the feeling that everything is simply set up and has no structure. All in all a very good museum if you deal with it extensively and know your way around.
