Absolute disaster of a museum. You won’t learn anything about Mozart here. There is not a single thing that Mozart owned or used. Literally not even one instrument or furniture. Also the captions about the apartment were way too small and poorly placed. I strongly don’t recommend this place and advise you to not waste your money here. I wish I could get a refund.

By now with an absolute confidence I can say that all the Mozart museums are distinguished by not having anything that was dirrectly connected to the famous musician but tge walls. There is a copy of the copy of his death mask, the copies of the copies of his letters and notes and the elements of the furniture of the epoch, but nothing that belonged or touched by Mozart. The souvenir shot with the famous chocolates takes the whole floor of the museum. Audio guides are included. There is a clock room which is very easy to miss. It's hot and very often you have to wait

Actually, it is only the house, nothing left originally from Mozart’s house, but decorated in a way with items from that time, audioguide is free and given at admission, well designed museum

Place is well organised, looked after and service is good. The entrance fee also includes a free use of a controlled cloak room (so you can leave your heavy items). Then you take a lift to the top floor with your audio guide with selected language. Generally it is nice experience, however perhaps you should lower your expectations as most of the items are replicas and no items that were pre-owned by Mozart was there (I expected more instruments, hand written scripts, more about his individual pieces of music).

If you are a musician or at least appreciate history or classical music this is a place you want on your Vienna bucket list. The museum is neat and has a lot of authentic details from Mozart's life in this apartment.

This is one of Mozart's apartments in Vienna and there's an exhibition over three floors where you can learn everything about his life, work and death. The final floor is the actual apartment and than there's a cut gift shop as well. The ticket also comes with an audio guide but to be honest it's quite lengthy for the amount of the objects there's to see and I wish there were more seats as it takes more than one hour to listen to the entire thing. Most things at the gift shops are a bit overpriced compared to what you can get at souvenirs stores just down the street.

This place is one of the most important destination to do in Vienna. There are many positive points, first the audio guide is automatically provided, you don't have to pay a bonus to get it unlike most museums in Vienna. Same thing goes for our belongings, indeed many place will oblige you to put your stuff in a secure change room but you have to pay and here you don't, it's free. The only thing that maybe is disappointing, is that there's little information for the arrangement of the appartement and the stuff in it did not belong to Mozart. But except that it's a really beautiful place, I highly recommend it.

Its one of the prime attractions of Vienna, if you are a music fan and definitely, if a Mozart fan. It has some good exhibitions with images and quotes from Mozart life. There is also a audio guide available with the ticket which gives us thorough experience about the life of Mozart, strangely the music is very less to be experienced in the museum. Other than this, its a must visit.

First, this is what it says it is - where Mozart lived when he was in Vienna. The pieces on display are mostly copies and you can get the information presented here in Wikipedia - without the rush of all the people trying to get from one room to another. Now, I would have given it at least three stars even if it is underwhelming. The reason for the 1 is the rudeness of the personnel. A simple question dismissed without an answer and rude gestures were shown and not being helpful whilst being a very polite customer (who understood that people are busy), this treatment is simply not worthy of even one star.

Not a fancy place as the real place Mozart lived but worth visiting once, at 12 euro. You can visit 3 stories apartment,Quite small while explanation is a bit longer at every points but it helps a lot. You can relax and feel the Mozart time’s situation. No pictures allowed. Enjoy!

The highlight for me was the audio guide here, which provided a rich history about Mozart and brought some life to the belongings in the museum. Some stuff was not related to Mozart at all, and some of it was just speculation about how things could have been. The store in the museum was great though, you can buy some general Austrian souvenirs as well as some really cool stuff related to Mozart. Picture taken outside one of the windows from the museum.

Mozart wrote the Marriage of Figaro in this apartment. This place is where Mozart lived when he was at his highest success. It would be nice if they could find more artifacts from Mozart's life, but those may be hard to obtain. The museum is in a great location and is good for a quick stop. Initially, it was hard for me to find but then I looked up and followed the signs.

Very interesting to listen about Mozart’s life. I wish would be more of furniture and other items from his house. However was interesting to walk though his rooms. Free for Ukrainian people at this time

It's a small museum and most of what's in it is conjecture. However the audio guide is fantastic and gives great insight on Mozart's life in the time period. Half an hour is enough for the visit and tickets are reasonably priced so I definitely recommend.

A great insight into the life of the famed composer. He apparently lived here. Most of his belongings don't exist here. That is quite disappointing. There are some replicas and images but most of the original work is elsewhere. Visit this house with this in mind.

If you’re really interested in Mozart’s life, this place is for you. I availed the student’s price which was good and there was a free audio guide included in the tour. Taking photos inside the building is not allowed, so you really get to enjoy it first hand.

Cool! Broadly speaking, I have not pleasure to vist museums, however this one, focusing on the Life of Mozart, Is very interesting....not only for the person himself, but also for the music and the avveniments that colouring the Life of this great Genius. Just to add some photos at the review, Is not suffice to describe the ambient.

When you hear the word "music", you will surely think of Mozart. The house where he lived, is now a very beautiful museum which provides you with a lot of information about his life. When you are inside, you feel an awe and an emotion, which stems from the fact that in these rooms lived and composed one of the most important musical composers of that time. If you visit it (I highly recommend it), stand in the room for a while and imagine Mozart composing ...

A note on accessibility- the elevator takes you to the highest level and from there, it is expected for you to take the stairs down as the elevator will only take you back to the ground level. If you cannot take the stairs, you must ask a staff member to take you down the elevator once you finish each level. Also, keep in mind that almost all objects in the museum did not belong to Mozart and are not originals. The furniture is from his time but not from his home, and the paintings are copies of those which are displayed in other museums.

We visited the Mozarthaus museum, which was the former residence of Mozart during a period of two and a half years when he had made money performing in the palace. However, we were disappointed to find out that the museum didn't have any authentic relics from the time when Mozart lived there. Instead, the museum had replicas of some of the pieces.

Nice stories of this great man’s life. Some interesting facts. But!!!! I made a huge mistake and chose Russian language for my audio-guide. The voices of man were terrible and annoying. A lot of mistakes and accent. Really very difficult to hear something from unprofessionals. I think that they can pay some euros extra and take professional to make a voice over.

A great place to learn the history and details about Mozarts life during the time he wrote his masterpiece operas. It's on 3 levels so give yourself plenty of time to walk through listening to the audio guide which was available in English. It was amazing to imagine how the maestro would have lived in the house with his family. It's a short walk from Stephanplatz so very centrally located.

Interesting museum of Mozart's life exhibited in Mozart's apartment. The audio device is given so that you can hear the story of each room. There are 3 stories.

Mozarthaus is a must-see museum in Vienna. Not only is he one of the most recognized and celebrated musicians in human history, he also led an incredibly special, if brief, life. This museum has an easy-to-follow audiotour. My one recommendation is to arrive early. We came at opening and the place was packed when we were leaving.

I must admit I expected more from the museum, many copies of pictures and documents but very few original items. No musical instruments (which surprised me) Afterwards I attend a chamber concert in the building's basement and that I thoroughly enjoyed (though that requires a separate ticket, and is not part of the museum experience)

Three levels museum filled with Mozart's history and therefore music's history. Can not miss it if you are a musician or just have a passion for music. Any music! The building is also beautiful and in such lovely part of the city. Highly recommended.

Really cool museum to learn about Mozart. I enjoyed the 3 levels of his museum apartment. It was reasonably priced and comes with an audio guide. I wish there was more furniture and musical instruments that Mozart used but overall it was a good history lesson and I learned a lot.

It does not have many house artifacts of Mozarts but it can provide a lot of information to a visitor for his life and career. Also a lot of original music patterns can be seen in various exhibits. Photos and video recording not permitted inside the rooms.

Awesome experience for all our family members. Great audio tour service with interesting descriptions in English. The house itself was a pleasant surprise and succeeded in mentally transferring us to a distant past ! A must see for every visitor of Vienna !

I first visited this place in the 1980s and was, at that time, rather disappointed. However in the 40 years since I was last there the experience has improved beyond all expectation. The exhibition is laid out over 3 floors and there is a wealth of information to be gained by visiting each of them. The audio commentary (free with your entry ticket) is engaging and detailed. I am a huge Mozart fan but I still managed to learn many new facts about his life and life in Vienna in the late 1700s.

A must-see visit for artists and musicians alike, as well as anyone who has ever enjoyed the beautiful compositions by Mozart. To simply be in the same rooms as the meistro once stood, created, thought, and lived is such a gift. Plus, Vienna is an absolutely amazing city to visit.

We visited the Mozart museum in the 20.11.21. The museum itself is very nice and reachable with data. However, not organized. Hard to understand the chronological biography of Mozart, and the audio is a bit exhausting. The staff was really nice, however no pics allowed. Recommended, but needs improvement.

  • 3/5 Mohamed A. 2 years ago on Google
It's okay! Nice to see where Mozart lived and learn more about him and his times. Unfortunately, most of the displayed objects are replicas or just photocopies of the originals.

The audio guide has A LOT to say. It was very informative and I stayed interested in what was said throughout the tour.

Really interesting but they should have left all the furnitures, carpets, house hold items, wall coverings, curtains etc all intact. Mozart produced 6 sheets of music a day. You discover these kinds of interesting facts when you visit this house/museum.

It was amazing. The ancient documents and feeling that you are in the exact same apartment Mozart lived and wrote some of his famous music

  • 4/5 mddiaz247 2 years ago on Google
The Museum was very clean and visitor friendly. The collection has more than Mozart but was clearly focused on him and his family. Nice to visit.
