the exhibition is a little small for the admission fee of €8, but a great experience even for the smallest children. they really get the chance to explore the lives of both the royal and the serving folks that lived at the palace back in the day.

One of the best places for children. They will enjoy it thoroughly for sure. There are a lot of props that they can put on and try - such as the prince/princess attire. There are toys a d slides that are freely available for kids to play.... Even adults would enjoy this place equally. Must visit in Vienna.

The museum would be fun for any little girls who love princesses. My girls don’t, so they weren’t so interested in dress-up and hairstyles. They were more interested in the medical stuff (using leeches for medical purposes, examples of old dentistry tools etc). The maze was pretty awesome, we got very lost! The playground was excellent too.

This place was so great for my 6 and 8 year Olds. The boy was grumpy at first, but then he and his sister started building the model palaces, and he had a great time. They loves the old wooden toys, getting to set the fancy dinner, and dressing up as kings and queens. I think I must've enjoyed it too!

Great museum for children. Well done. We recommend the guided tour. Our girls had a lot of fun. Tour guide could also answer the questions for adults. Purchase damage to the children's activity equipment. Lots of costumes for young and old to dress up. Although there was nothing for 2 meter tall. But there were enough things for the rest.

Great fun for kids, not-tiring tour, lots of 'touch me' exhbitions. Bags must be left in the cloakroom. Pretty expensive combined tickets (museum, maze, zoo).

If you kids are between the age of 2 and 6 you will find this worth while. Otherwise it's really not geared to the older kids. Skip the line and buy your tickets online and then walk in. Decent way to spend an hour or so with the little ones but again they should be little.

We were at the children's museum for 2 1/4 hours. I've seen families get through it much quicker, but our daughter was very interested and had fun exploring and playing. When asked two days later what she found most remarkable, she told me: "The spinning things that showed you the difference between the lives of the children of the emperors and the lives of normal people."

Great place for children visitors to Vienna, offering an insight to the life of emperors as children. Many interactive activities in each room. One wishes only for even more such educational moments, including putting in perspective the life of emperors as children versus the other parts of society. Altogether a nice visit.

This is such a fun experience and a much better value than going inside the palace. You get to see many palace rooms and actually learn about how the children lived in the palace, plus your kids get to have a fun time doing dress up, playing with different toys, setting up a fancy dinner table, and going on a scavenger hunt. The price is just right. No regrets.

A very nice museum. There is a lot to see from that time. And it's great for the kids. You can dress up and look like you did back then and then photograph it. There is a playroom with the toys from before. And there are always corners and tables for the children to try out. Be it building blocks or combing wigs. It was really worth it. We got the tickets there and immediately took a combination ticket with the zoo and the maze. In the end it was a bit much for our little one (3 years). She was totally knocked out afterwards. but it was also very warm. She had a lot of fun in the museum. The ladies at the information stand and checkout were very friendly and helpful. We gave great advice on what was best.

Such an interesting and enjoyable experience for adults and children. We get to play dressed up (yes adults are included if you are game). The quiz segment makes it more interesting for the children. Highly recommended.

So for my two boys, 4 and 7, the museum wasn't that exciting. Dressing up and most other things didn't really appeal to her. The most interesting thing were the building blocks. We were traveling without a guide. But somehow most of the things seemed very worn, a bit grubby or damaged. Unfortunately there's a lot of text that my children can't read yet, but without which they can't understand most of it - other museums do this better with pictograms and audio explanations. It's also a shame that interesting things like the "secret doors" in the rooms are not mentioned. In my opinion the whole thing needs a remake to be state of the art again. But it may be better for children.

It's a pleasant museum to visit it with kids. You can see how was the life of little princess and prince, their toys their room and so many other. In this museum you can dress up like a princess or a prince and the kids really enjoyed it. Also there is a slide and games which the visitor can try them. We spend more than 1hour and about 30 minutes we were dressed up like royalty.

Really worth the visit, kids 4 and 6 loved to dress like princes and princesses at the very entrance and the rest of the museum is not too long or boring, offering interactive exhibits and some information for the parents to explain. The total visit was about an hour and we quite enjoyed it.

If you have little or bigger princesses, they must visit this museum. Lots of interaction, dressing up, toys, setting the table and more.

4.5 * Just a quibble: the rocking horses in the entrance area need repair, they're a little shabby. Apart from that - my eight year old and I both enjoyed it very much. The guided tour is included in the entrance fee, the guide was very nice, the children could participate plenty. After the tour, my girl spent ages preparing and serving food in the dining room - real cutlery and crockery, fake food - with new-found friends. Dressing up was another highlight, as were the wigs provided for braiding etc. I found the information provided very useful, particularly the obvious differences between the rich and the poor. A recommendation.

So much knowledge packed into a fun museum for kids. And it was the perfect length for kids. They didn’t get bored and were just getting ready to go at the end. Such a great way to teach history.

I went to the children's museum today with my daughter (5) and we really enjoyed it. There were so many little things to discover in every room. It was never boring! Also suitable for younger visitors!

I liked the idea that this is made for kids.. usually my kids gets tired and bored in 10 minutes 😩 But they enjoyed this museum for like 4 hours. They can touch and play with almost everything. I also recommend the maze and the labyrinth.

My 3 year old loved the Children's museum. It was not busy on the day we went and we had almost every room to ourselves. There are clothes to dress up and many other toys in the other rooms.

Nicely currated and interactive. Also gives a contrast between living in the palace versus working class people.

A very good history lesson for children. You need 1-2 hours to visit. Great for kids ages 8-11. I'm not sure the little ones will understand many things. You have to check before.

Not special at all! Lack of effort to make the place worth a visit + the price is too high for what you get. Save the time for the zoo/maze/palace/gardens.

Great place to be with kids. The museum has lots of engaging activities for kids of all ages. so riddles and puzzles in a few rooms. takes 60 mins to visit

We visited it on Wednesday 1/11 at 10am. I give 5 stars for the experience. I give 1 star for the very annoying request of a guided tour leader, that asked to move to another room every other attendant not belonging to the group. This was the first time I ever heard something like that. The ticket is not cheap, to be treated this way.

Fantastic. Interactive rooms showing how those who have lived & the other side of the coin , what the sevants did. Dressing up in period costume. The young ones, & most of us oldies loved it.. !

Few palace rooms with more typical expositions where you can see how royal children lived there. Chance to wear time specific clothes and make a photo was more fun than expected. There is room with toys where children can play and even a slide in a other room. Multiple parts of expositions are interactive so it can be play&learn experience. Definitely recommend!

Excellent hand’s experience for children and their accompanying adults. It is so well done. Ours loved the dress up part at the beginning. I’m just surprised there wasn’t a toy shop at the end with all wooden toys and good old fashion games for sale. Well worth the visit.

In this museum you can try queen's clothes. This room is the first one and I would say it is really funny. We spent there more than 40 minutes trying dresses and making photos. Then you walk through prince and princess rooms, full of different things they were using in real: toys, combs etc. I recommend this museum not only for people with kids, but also for adults.

My 5 yo daughter LOVED the palace. She dressed up and then made her dad and me dress up too. It was fun! We walked around the rooms. She really enjoyed playing with the games and toys there.

I'm writing this review because I see people saying it's for very young children. We went 4 years ago, my daughters were 10 and 11 years old. It's true that they weren't too interested in the museum, there were parts that were, but we went through it quickly. However, in the costume part we had a good time. They had a lot of fun.
