😐 Depending on what one expects from this museum, it will be either a nice surprise or a just a surprise. It has many artifacts regarding Strauss' lives, which is great, you can listen to some music composed by both of them, but there is little about the music as such. People often mention museum, music, nice, staff,

Great little museum in the apartment where Strauss lived at one point. Several artifacts and items from violins to dresses and hand scribed musical pieces. Even has a listening room to hear some renditions through the years from various symphonies playing the pieces. Worth the 3 ish euro for sure!

I loved being a short guest in this house. You should also stop briefly in front of the front door of the building and look at its feet, because there are stumbling blocks there. These moved me very much. Did Strauss know the people, whether they greeted each other or even visited each other?

I really like the way how the museum was organized - you could really feel like living in the days Strauß lived. Also the area where you could listen to his famous works was really fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who likes the classical music and is interested in the life of Johann Strauß.

Very unkind. I couldn't spend time enough there. He kept bothering me that I had to go out now even though it was 15 min before from closing time, he'd also turned off all of equipment already before. Though I asked to turn on the audio again, he didn't do that at all. So I had to go out 15 min before. It was global public museum, but the kindness didn't deserve to get the level.

This not so often visited place by tourists was actually one of the highlights of my stay in Vienna. It was packed with information, posters, photos and caricatures of the time and you have the option to sit and listen to Strauss' music through headphones. The staff was very welcoming and kind. Overall, this was a quiet and charming place - definitely worth to visit and add to your itinerary!

Nice little museum, housed in a residential building. Greatly conveys the life of Johann Strauss. Can also hear some pieces acoustically. Very nice staff.

Very nice experience! One of few museum places where you are allowed to take pictures. Would highly recommend it to people interested in music and wanting to grasp a powerful vibe of how the composer lived.

4 rooms that are quite unspectacular. But if you are in the area you can take a look at the premises.

A very nice museum with finely selected exhibits and very friendly staff! The transfer of knowledge works very well without being too tiring or overwhelming visitors with too much information. There is also a small mini shop with pretty postcards and interesting books :) However, there is no toilet in the museum, which should perhaps be clearly stated on the homepage🙈

I can't comment, because I arrived late and only saw the hall of the house. A contribution that he left here is to approach the Danube and listen with some device to "On the banks of the beautiful Blue Danube" by the greatest Waltz great. As a fact, I had to visit the house since he composed the well-known waltz there. Check schedule before coming.

Nice place to visit, if you are interested in music history it definitely worth the (small) price. The house itself is it little, but you can find many many pieces of original scores and portrait of the johann strauss (son) story.
