The castle is an intriguing destination that offers a glimpse into the past. The castle's medieval architecture and hilltop location create a captivating atmosphere. While the experience is enjoyable, it's worth noting that the pricing may be a little high. Nonetheless, the guided tours (every one hour...) provide interesting insights into the castle's history, and the panoramic views from its grounds are truly breathtaking. If you're willing to overlook the slightly high cost, a visit to Castle Liechtenstein can still be a memorable and worthwhile experience. 🏰✨

Don't miss this castle! You can get inside only with a guide, tours are every round hour. The price is for a guided tour. We didn't know that tours are 1xhour and missed one at 13.00. Had to hang around for about 45 min, but there is a nice sculpture garden at the foot of the castle and a cafe. If a group is big, they split it and tour with 2 guides. We were lucky to have Julian as our guide, he was doing tour bilingual German-English and at an extremely professional level! A round of applause to him! The tour takes about an hour and is very informative! Park your car on the main parking some 300m from the castle and take a walking trail left from it. Don't go uphill via the car road.

Must visit place. If you are coming with the car then it’s near Vienna but by public bus or trains is not well-connected. Inside is a medieval castle and the entrance fee is around €20. There is enough parking space. In front of the castle is a beautiful park in nature. Just watch out because you cannot visit the castle without a guide, and there are scheduled guided tours.

This romantic and idyllic medieval castle comes with lots of interesting stuff to see. I enjoyed the visit. However, there are only guided tours available which denies the possibility to discover some parts of the publicly available sights in more detail. Descriptions are in German only. The guides speak good English though and very eager to answer your questions. I loved this place, recommended!

Very beautiful and quiet place, the castle was closed but you can admire it from outside. Better to bring some drinks and food to have a picnic. 😊😊

Got to visit when it was snowing, but closed. Still, the walk was relaxing, and they had Christmas markets out front.

Very nice well kept castle, only 25 min from Vienna downtown. Very well hidden in the green area where it stands, to the point that it's not visible until you are 2 mins close to it. It can be entered only with guided tour. The guide is nice, very well prepared and speaks German and English. Worth a visit!

Old (XII century) castle located close to Vienna. Well preserved by Lichtenstein family and serving as a museum. Majority of the interior is still original. Interesting thing that despite it's location it was not built as defensive structure but rather representation purpose. The guided tour is also in English and the tour is a really nice guy :)

I was very impressed with this castle, it really is beautiful. I also liked the fact that there is a rest area in the immediate vicinity of the castle where you can stay with family or friends. I recommend it. I waited almost an hour to enter because the tours are done at every fixed hour.

Been there on a Sunday to enjoy the park and playgrounds with our little one. Castle looks super impressive from the outside (nice paths to walk around with some wonderful views). We didn't go in, as we were with the baby stroller, but will definitely return some time to see the inside too. Not crowded as well, at least when we were there... ;)

Nice moderate walk in the woods until you see the castle, a real sight to see. We walked around it, didn’t go inside. A very nice place to visit, half an hour from Vienna.

Nice castle near Vienna. Child friendly. There is also a park and a restaurant near by. Also pathways in the woods to take walks.

Very beautiful castle. Please check the schedule before the visit, as you can get inside only with guided tour. The tour was rather short, about 59 minutes ( I had a regular tour). But it was very interesting. Also, castle is located in very beautiful place. So, I recommend to visit the place and walk around.

hmmm... If you have seen the other european castles, like those thrown overall in Luxembourg and Germany Wine Valley, this one looks tiny and unimpressive... You can see about 5 rooms, and a corridor paving used in the Lord of the Rings scene... :) Impressive is one of the upper rooms, where a massive wooden column holds the ceiling in the middle of the room. And looking from outside, to contemplate the initial meaning of the word "garderobe", and the most unloved way to sneak into castle.. ;) Still, a nice weekend cycling destination - you can as well continue on the road. Or stay in Maria Enzersdorf for a lunch. Or (not me!) go back to SCS for a shopping spree or IkEA visit ;P

A nice castle only 25’ out of Vienna. You can take the suburban train to get there. It’s inside a forest the ticket cost 12€ and it’s only guided.

Small castle with a museum inside. The guided tour provides a lot of information about the castle, it's whereabouts and beginnings. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It'd be wise to buy tickets online the day before to get a guaranteed spot for the tour. Enough parking spaces are nearby. The view is also lovely.

Beautiful castle. To go inside, you need to join the tour which goes hourly for about €12 per person. The guide speaks German and English. The castle’s stairwell was featured in movies including Lord of the Rings

Absolutely a great experience! Castle Liechtenstein is a gorgeous medieval castle with interesting history. The guided tour was held in both German and English, the guide was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and responded well to questions 🏆 I highly recommend a visit!

There is currently 1 tour on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 11a.m. The castle itself look very interesting. Our tour however was a bit.. boring. There suppose to be 1 group in German and 1 in English but our English group had also people speaking German only so the guide was telling the story in both languages. As a result the tour lasted twice longer and the kids were really bored after half of it. The guide wasn't too nice either giving out about walking away from group or watch the kids instead of having a bit of trust in visitors. This was February and there seems to be very little or no heating in the castle so after a while it felt unpleasantly cold when standing in one place all the time. If the tour was only in one language it would be much more comfortable and interesting. The guide probably would also talk slightly slower as at times we couldn't understand some of the words because of the strong accent. Overall the history of the castle is interesting just the way it was shown to us had few downsides. Thank you.

Beautiful castle, definitely worth a visiting. Check the opening hours on their website first, they do also offer guided tours which are more than worth it. If you have the time go for a walk in the nearby forest Föhrenberge. Lots to discover there, for example replicated ancient runins that were build in the 19th century and made to look like a roman colloseum.

Castle Lichtenstein is a great place to stroll. And in the area around people can also hike. It's also great for kids. Right now they are renovating the existing playground and it allready looks amazing. Lots of wood is being used for the new equipment. It will be reopening at the end of October 2022.

Beautiful place. But English tour together with German. Not so convenient. No other language options.

A lovely castle in lovely surroundings - my friend and I didn't have ages to explore during our visit to Austria but this castle was easily accessible and has some lovely parkland surrounding it as well as a nice restaurant a very short distance away. The size inside in smaller than you'd expect from the extremal view but the guided tour was very interesting with a knowledgeable guide. Worth a visit.

Beautiful park for a hike. It was built in the 1860's by the Liechtenstein family to look like a medieval castle! Beautiful nonetheless and the hiking trails are quite extensive. Enter the town square of Mödling as you exit! Lots of outdoor patios to enjoy in a beautiful old town.
