This place is rated amongst the top tourist attractions in Vienna, Austria. The building was amazingly beautiful and colorful. Just opposite the building is the Hundertwasser Village which showcases different varieties of things. There are also options to eat inside the village. A must visit place in Vienna.

This place is an amazing experience to witness the sheer madness and beauty. It's like Mumbai and Barcelona got together and made something magical

Very interesting building, you can check if it if you are passing by. Unfortunatly it is a building where people do live so cannot be seen from the inside and the colors are not so vivid like 10 years ago. Max time you can spend here is 10 min

A unique place to visit and see what looks like a patchwork building. However, the artist made this a a place to live unlike any other. He didn’t believe in using the solid line and emotionless style of most buildings. So he made his own. The name of this roughly translated to the Hundred Waters House.

Very unique and artistic architecture! You can't go inside the actual House, but there is an artsy Gallery Village with lots of shops, caffe's where you can soak in the funky vibe!❤️

Friedensreich Hundertwasser started out as a painter. Since the early 1950s, however, he increasingly became focused on architecture, writing and reading in public, advocating natural forms of decay. In 1972, he had his first architectural models made for the TV-show ‘Wünsch dir was', in order to demonstrate his ideas on forested roofs, "tree tenants" and the "window right" of every tenant to embellish the facade around his windows. In these models Hundertwasser also developed new architectural shapes, such as the "eye-slit" house and the "high-rise meadow house".[2] In lectures at academies and before architectural associations, Hundertwasser elucidated his concerns regarding an architecture in harmony with nature and man. Bruno Kreisky, the federal chancellor at the time, suggested in a letter dated November 30, 1977 to Leopold Gratz, the mayor of Vienna, that Hundertwasser be given the opportunity to realize his ideas in the field of architecture by allowing him to build a housing project,[3] whereupon Leopold Gratz, in a letter of December 15, 1977, invited Hundertwasser to create an apartment building according to his own ideas.[3] To this end, architect Josef Krawina was invited to join the artist and to help him to put his ideas into practice.

The Hundertwasser House in Vienna bears the unmistakable hand of the artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, whose birth name was Friedrich Stowasser. The colorfully decorated exterior façade of Hundertwasser House in Vienna draws attention to itself almost magically. Anyone who lives in the Hundertwasser House also has the right to decorate the façade around the windows entirely to their own taste. More than 200 trees and shrubs on the balconies and roof terraces make the Hundertwasserhaus a green oasis in the heart of the city. The Hundertwasserhaus can only be viewed from outside. Right opposite the Hundertwasserhaus, however, is the Hundertwasser Village, which is open to visitors. It was created out of a tire workshop in 1990-1991. The artist created his own shopping center here with a "village square", a bar and numerous stores in the typical Hundertwasser style

What a cool place to be, the architect was from new Zealand and he die on the sea! Quite unique way like his designs. In the building there are some cafeteria's, across there is a small unique market with same design that offers restaurant's, fast food, coffee shops and a really nice art gallery. The place is free to visit.

Quite a unique building in Vienna. Basically the designer wanted to be a bit of a rebel and stand out amongst the typical Viennese buildings. The architecture is really interesting with its splash of different colours. You don’t need a ticket to come here. A lot of tourists go into the small side street but you actually get a great perspective off the Main Street as well.

Worth a visit to see some funky buildings if you like this sort of thing, theres a nice fountain too. Some touristy shops for souvenirs. And a nice cafe on the corner. No tickets or anything needed to have a look at this fun area. Would not recommend for wheelchair users or prams/buggies, the floor is cobbley and wonky 😅

It is an apartment house, landmark of Vienna. It's interesting to look at, but I don't think I'd want to live there. It would be rather far-fetched to say that it looks like the work of a Viennese Gaudí.

I visited the place twice in ten years and realized that the colourful paint is not as bright as in the past. It needs restoration. By the way, do not expect to see a big place, its tiny and cute. Finally, its a great place to take photos.

It is a very nice example of a roof garden. In my opinion all architects, landscape architects and site planners should visit this building. Before my visit to Vienna, I was very surprised that we didn't learn details about the building in our university education ( i am a landscape architect). I would love to visit again in different seasons. Easy to reach by trams. There is a small gift shop under the building and a very cosy cafe.

Very magical... misterious. Playful design. A dream come true for the artists. So far this is the most enchanted modern museum I've ever come. The thing is... all the arts installment in the museum was original. So the guest are prohibited to take any picture using any media... including your smart phone. So you have to bring all you camera to storage counter. But when you come in the inside. Everything is beautiful. And you dont even remember to take a pic. All the design, the market, the poetries ( yes he made poetry) and paintings... all is beautiful. So this is the picture outdoor the museum. If you interesting, you shall Come and pay a visit.

An extremely interesting architectural solution to build a house. The facade is beautiful and very attractive for its bright colors and unusual method of stacking the mosaic. Undoubtedly, this is an interesting house which successfully breaks the monotony of the surrounding buildings. A playful Hundertwasser is one of the symbols of Vienna, just as Gaudi symbolizes Barcelona. Friedensreich Hundertwasser was originally not concerned with architecture, but already during the fifties has expressed a desire for better incorporating buildings into the environment. And so it came up with the idea to build a building in unusual shapes with curved lines. With the help of architect Peter Pelikan was built in the city quarter Landstrasse beautiful building that is now called the Hundertwasserhaus. Today Hundertwasser's house is a very popular attraction, although it is somewhat isolated from other Viennese sights. Interesting and beautiful.

(Translated by Google) Hundertwasser House (German: Hundertwasserhaus) is a condominium in Vienna designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. It is located in the 3rd district of Vienna, at Kegelgasse 34-38. The house was built between 1983 and 1986 by Joseph Krawina and Peter Pelikan. The handover took place on February 17, 1986. Hundertwasser did not accept payment for the design of the house because he thought it was already understood that no ugliness was being built in its place. Inside the house there are 52 apartments, 4 offices, 16 private and 3 shared terraces, as well as a total of 250 trees and bushes. The Hundertwasser House is one of Vienna’s most visited buildings, which has also become part of Austria’s cultural heritage. A Hundertwasser-ház Bécs egyik leglátogatottabb épülete, ami Ausztria kulturális örökségének is része lett.

An interesting design building with a colourful exterior. I would suggest going to the museum first and getting a better understanding of the artist otherwise you will just be looking at a building with no knowledge of why is it designed that way. It seems to be nicer doing this summer time and they will need to clean the building a bit so that is not so dark and Dim.

Fantastic area! An absolute must when visiting the city. A clear example of how Vienna is more than classical music and proper (stunning) buildings. Great villa that looks like a world that came out of a kid's mind made in an adult's way. Highly recommended. Can't miss it! Plus, on your way there you'll discover a lot of streets, cafes and other things that aren't that touristy.

Fun place to visit, but probably nicer to visit during the spring/summer. Because of the dull weather and the absence of the plants, the house doesn't look as fun. Still quite fun to look at though. Also the village at the other side is fun to walk through. Not sure if you can go inside, it mostly looked like appartments.

If you happen to be in the area or you're a fan of Friedensreich Hundertwasser, then sure, give it a go. But if not, I see no reason to visit the place. The colors have faded and the building looks kinda dirty. It seems more like a tourist trap than anything else.

Nice crazy building where nothing is square The architect is famous in Austria (his name is Hundertwasser) There are nice temporary exhibitions and a permanent one. The last temporary one I have seen was about street photography. It is possible to have lunch and/or drinks in the restaurant at the ground floor.

It is something to beheld from the street. You cannot go into the house to see a lot of what he designed because it is closed from the public. Residents live in the house. You can buy photos of those private areas in the souvenir shops though. And we loved the shops. That is the village part. A village of tourist shops. They are colorful, arty, buzzing with life. I loved the place. But just don't expect to go in anywhere but shops.

(Translated by Google) A Barcelona-style condominium, in short, one of the greatest tributes to those nostalgic for a visit to Gaudi's Casa Batillò, with frankly well-presented details (congratulations to the architect who came up with the idea). The merchandising work created by the neighborhood is not equivalent to that of maintenance by the owners of the building, now a cult in Vienna. The proximity to other Viennese streets or buildings, including the adjoining Palazzo delle Belle Arti, makes you feel like a classic eyesore but that's the real selling point (rather than the homage to Catalonia in itself ) which creates curiosity and attraction in citizens and tourists.

There was a little distance so I arrived using Google Maps. You can see a building like that, but it has tourists on the side, so you can follow the waves. Since you can't go inside, let's settle down at the souvenir shop or cafe on the other side when you look at the front. Along the way, you'll find the building of Marquis Razmovsky and the birthplace of composer Anton Webern. This is an incredible place... magical I can define. This apartment building complex was named after the architect who projected and built it in 1986, at Landstrasse neighborhood in Vienna. You can admire it from the street and the groundfloor on the inside, just remember there are people living inside it who deserve some privacy. Across the street from it there is a small shopping complex, also projected by Hundertwasser where you can find souvenirs, drink or eat something.

Uneven soils give the impression of walking in the forest or on a dirt road. The lines are cut, curved or a little lopsided. Everything is cheerful and colorful. Trees grow on the facades and on the roofs. Magnificent ! It's a whole district to visit, with its museum and the inevitable small souvenir shops. For my part I would return there with happiness. Good and a beautiful place for people who like modern art. A bit funky. You can see the artist had a brilliant vision. Good place for tourists. Best part for me was an apartment from which a tree had grown. You can't go in the apartments but you can go to the store where you can buy different things as souvenirs. Bus station is very near. Loved the fountain in front of the building. It's a great place to take photos for memories and also for art photography. Just be careful because the floor is dizzy and not flat. Cheers from Croatia.

(Translated by Google) Italy-28 Whitewater and Klimt When playing in Vienna, there were actually many episodes, all of which were on Ah Fu. In addition to music excellence, this country has produced a musical prodigy Mozart. In art, there are two genius national treasures: Shirashui and Klimt. The former has a strong mosaic-like architectural art, and the latter is a painter who likes bright colors and a style similar to that of Japan. In China, Klimt’s classic "kiss" and "Princess Sisi" can be seen everywhere, and the museum also has his long-term special exhibitions. His works can be seen everywhere in famous letter films. I like his works better, a little bit of Van Gogh's special color matching spirit. Baishui, Shuzhen said it was a German name. He often takes over the appearance of large communities or factories to design works of art. We watched the community’s classics, as well as the incinerator version. In addition to his habit of using dark blue, black, white, gold, and red as the base colors in his works, he also has the characteristic of the Islamic dome roof style, which reminds people of fairy tales. He also has many famous letter film series works, which are bright and lovely. White water is Ah Fu’s favorite. He was very excited to see the white water incinerator on the train. After visiting the Danube, we took a special trip to look back. The two Vienna National Treasures have a common feature, that is, they use circles in large quantities. I think Baishui's circle has added to his childlike innocence; Shuzhen also said that Klimt's circle is sex, which is an allusion to female organs. Before we left, there was a palace museum selling two people's works around. Ah Fu and I both fell in love with the collin cup drawn by the golden circle totem. Shuzhen said that Ah Fu was fascinated by Baishui and bought two in one go. I was taken aback, but it wasn't because Ah Fu bought it. Rather, I think it's around Klimt. I can't help but ask if the counter is "Klim"? She quickly returned to "sure". I think she answered casually and asked again, but she was confused again and said, "Yes! Right!" Maybe she didn't understand why hesitated to ask again and again. Shuzhen said that she was influenced by Ah Fu's description and misunderstood that the cup was made of white water. The two of us went to find Ah Fu with an awkward and weird atmosphere. We pushed each other "Afu, Song Dai has something to tell you" and "Afu, Shuzhen has something to tell you." After waiting for a long time, I finally told him, the counter said that it was Klimt's stuff. Ah Fu was also stupid for a while. I reminded him, "You need to change the surroundings of the white water. Go and change it quickly. I can explain for you, otherwise there will be no more white water to collect." But he couldn't recover. Still return to me: "I think it is Bai Shui's work." I told him again: "It's definitely Klimt's. It was said by the counter, not by me. You can ask Shuzhen. Would you like to change it?" Shuzhen nodded aside. He became quieter when he heard it. Well, the result is...no change. 2011•10•12 time 1611 on the plane (Original)

Highly IG place. Crowded with tourists. Building reminds me a lot of Van Gogh style of art. The best photos are taken from opposite buildings which we cannot access. Photos taken from ground are decent only. Write up on architect is opposite in the Hundertwasser Village. Iconic place of Vienna.

In a walking distance from center. An apartment building with remarkable art work. Also there is a village and museum of Hundertwasser. If you are interested in arts or architecture, you have to visit these places.
