A very nice one day trip from Vienna. The museum is well maintained, plenty to see, not too crowded. There's also a nice restaurant that serves local dishes.

This is an exciting place where children and adults can learn about history of Austrian village life. They built an entire village from houses collected from allover Austria. There are cooper houses, farms, shoemaker, churches and chapels, a small school, and much more. Access by wheelchair may be a bit difficult because the place is built on a hill and the roads are not paved. The access by car is easy and the place not too far from Vienna. There is a restaurant in this open air museum which serves local food.

Very interesting open-air museum. It is a collection of farmers houses from the past century or earlier with all their belongings. A farm has some live animals. Good for both kids and adults. There is a lot to see, so reserve at least a half-day. The entrance fee is a bit high, however the kids can attend for free.

Discover living in a Village at 1900 in lower Austria. Farmer Houses, live crafting, animals, gardens and much more for a nice day trip. You can walk in a lot buildings inside (school, shop, winery). Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes.

A visit to this village is a MUST. Every year, since 1981, I visit the village and each time enjoying the atmosphere and old buildings. Strolling through the dusty streets it takes one back to hard times and when luxuries were scarce.

You could see there so many buildings inside with equipment, animals, tools. It is amazing how the village was prepared. I have enjoyed a lot with ma 9 and 10 years daughters. I really like I could take my dog with me! On parking space there are three places for campers where you could plug electricity (it was for free).
