Don't rely on them being there; or even civil! Visited twice when they should have been open (even according to sign on their door) but all counters were closed on both occasions. Staff were sitting behind drawn blinds in front of desk and were quite rude when questioned about opening hours. A leaflet was reluctantly thrust at me when I asked about opening hours.

Please avoid this turist information center. After very long trip I was very negatively surprised how unpolite and unprofessional service I received. I was tired and exhausted and was missing basic information about ticket machine, right way to my hotel etc. The first Sir who worked there, was nearly speaking to me. He was in a very bad mood and was showing how he is board with this job. I had to leave as was not able to communicate with him. Random people outside were trying to help but without success. I decided to come back as was not able to go around and around with 30 kg luggage and 15kg backpack, laptop. The other man who worked there too, was very similar to his colleague, to my biggest disappointment:( very bored and rude to me, only repeating: you will find it behind the corner?! But when asking for more details he was pushing me to leave. Finally the security man who was standing outside, very nice and well behaved, helped me to find the right way to buy right ticket and find entrance to the train. I am not sure how main information spot in main trian station is not able to welcome the new comers in the city with smile and basic help?? This information centre gives a bad image to the city. I am not convinced to come back to Vienna if this is regular service :( please avoid this spot. I add that after visiting nearly 40 countries has never seen this attitude before :( very sad

The worst experience in my whole life information center experience! After 8 hour train trip from Zurich to Vienna, we wanted to buy Vienna City Card. The service time is until 7pm, and we were there 6:57. The counter was empty but didn’t show the sign of “Closed”. The other staff, who didn’t do city card service, told me that her colleague went to the washroom, and asked me to go to another place to buy the tickets. I was exhausted and my kid was sick after long trip, and I had my parent, who are nearly 70, traveling with me, so I didn’t want to move. She continued asking me to go to the other place to buy the tickets instead of waiting for the staff who went to the toilet. I did, but could not find the place. I realized that I shouldn’t lose the chance to buy tickets in the information center counter and went back at 7pm. The young lady was back and refused to sell the cards to me. She spoke to me in a very bad attitude, as if I did something completely wrong, and I treated her unfairly. She insisted on that she had right to go to toilet, which I agreed and fully respect, but it didn’t mean that you then ended up work earlier even people were waiting for you. And why she was in such an ugly attitude! I feel so unwelcome by Austria just because this young lady. That day was December 21! I hope one day the lady could see this message and understand how your bad attitude and refusal to give the services to the people who deserved to have gave troubles to the others. Your coldness and irresponsibility ruined the reputation of the city in one minute. I had to look for the shop and waited in a queue....
