My third, more assertive, follow-up to this led to a male chef deliberately mocking me by repeating my word „should“ several times in a sarcastic voice, before following me back to our table & leaning over me in an unnatural way to attack my concern as unreasonable in rapid, mocking German. The other adults present described his behaviour as intentionally physically intimidating. It’s certainly how I experienced it - I left a few minutes later, too distressed to eat. The sad thing is that all that was required was a politely professional acknowledgement of our concerns (a hungry, stressed child & our own cold, uneaten strudels as we waited up to 15 minutes to be able to eat with her) & a 30-second trip downstairs to resolve this. While I spoke sharply on the third occasion, the childish aggression witnessed in response was pretty remarkable in this context. This behaviour should be followed up by the chain.
