What
started
out
as
a
lovely
evening
ended
in
a
huge
disappointment.
My
friend
and
I
joined
3
other
friends
around
7.30pm
at
the
blue
bar
for
a
drink.
Amongst
these
friends
was
a
couple
who
comes
to
the
blue
bar
on
a
regular
base
and
consumes
very
well.
We
sat
at
the
bar
since
all
the
tables
were
occupied
or
reserved.
Around
8.30pm
the
bartender
offered
us
two
tables
which
we
gratefully
accepted
since
some
of
us
were
eating
as
well
and
another
friend
joined.
Around
9.15pm
the
bar
was
almost
empty
except
for
our
tables
and
another
table
to
our
left.
There
also
seemed
to
be
a
shift
change
and
another
waiter
arrived,
who
knows
the
couple
very
well.
He
mentioned
that
Anna
Netrebko
was
performing
at
the
State
opera,
and
they’d
expect
the
bar
to
get
very
crowded
around
10pm.
We
ordered
another
bottle
of
champaign,
the
4th
bottle
by
that
time.
The
waiter
returned
without
our
bottle
telling
us
we
would
have
to
move
to
another
room
in
the
back
if
we
wanted
to
have
another
champaign
since
all
the
tables
in
the
blue
bar
were
reserved
from
10pm.
We
were
disappointed
and
felt
insulted,
so
we
asked
for
the
check.
Another
waiter
came
and
I
asked
him
why
no
one
had
told
us
before
we
sat
down
at
the
table
and
started
ordering
bottle
after
bottle
that
we
would
have
to
leave
around
10pm.
His
answer
was
literally
that
since
we
arrived
at
6pm
(which
is
not
correct,
our
friends
arrived
at
7pm)
they
thought
we’d
be
gone
by
10pm.
I
don’t
have
to
explain
how
wrong
his
reply
was
on
all
levels.
Whatever
the
reasons,
there
is
no
way
you
can
treat
your
customers
like
this,
there
is
a
better
way
to
handle
it,
especially
in
one
of
Vienna’s
top
hotel
bars.
