Went last night after reading about it on the top 50 best bars ranking. Lives up to its reputation. Cozy ambiance, good music, dim lights. it is a bar where you are seated on a first come first serve basis, not for those picky about having their personal space. the focus is on their products and flawlessy executed cocktails, as it should be !

It is one of the best, if not arguably, the best cocktail bar in Vienna. They have a relatively long list of signature cocktails made with high-quality liquor that cater to nigh on every taste. If one doesn't find something they like, one can simply ask the bartenders to make a custom order. They are extremely professional and some of the most knowledgeable bartenders in the country. Though, I did stump them a couple of times. Yes, the drinks are expensive. The signatures come around at 17€ per drink, but if you go there to enjoy a couple as a luxury, it's fine. One pays for excellence. If you want to experience cocktail culture at its very peak...come to Josef Cocktail Bar.

Masterpiece in creativity, all the drinks are very well thought. Each drink is different and unique. Who ever standing behind the menu manged to take classics to another level. Bar is beautifully designed and the atmosphere is great. Loved it, a place you must go if you visit in Vienna and love good mixed drinks.

Everything was amazing at this cocktail spot. Their outdoor seating is great. I ordered an old fashioned (the bourbon was snickers-infused), which was perfectly made and not too sweet. The service was top notch.

Nice laid back cocktail bar with extremely tasty signature cocktails and friendly staff right in the middle of Vienna and the "drinking quarter". You get served water right wenn sitting down and a comprehensive cocktail card with signature cocktails. Of course you can order any standard cocktails, which are always top quality. In close proximity you will find two other cocktail bars, but this one is far ahead in terms of drinks quality AND staff friendliness. Always a delight to come back, and would recommend everyone to come for a drink!

I really enjoy the experience of a bartender making you the perfect cocktail based on few answers to some questions. So if you don’t find your perfect cocktail in the menu, it’s absolutely not a problem! I would say that the prices compared to other bars are kind the same, but the quality is better than at some of them.

Wonderful evening! Super friendly and helpful staff! Great music. Big variety of cocktails. I tried two and were both great. Its a small bar, so it would be better to reserve first.

They have their signature cocktails but I found them a bit strong and less tasty. The service was good but I usually like eating some chips or snack with drinks. But I could’t see any option on the menu for snacks or chips. Atmosphere was okay but nothing special in general.

Best cocktail and service we had in Austria. Black Opium was the highlight, made by guys who know their stuff. Shout out to Benjamin for being super helpful and just genuinely friendly to us from out of town. Absolute legend. Atmosphere downstairs was also incredible.

Cozy bar in the middle of Vienna. The location is an old cellar. Great drinks from the menu but you can order whatever you like and the bartender will be happy to make it. Well worth the prize of the drinks. I like the glowing drinks, like the Edison. There's also a section of the bar above ground which serves different drinks.

Josef Cocktail Bar is a must visit in Vienna. To die for delicious cocktails - classic options with a unique twist. The atmosphere is classy yet relaxed and beautifully decorated. They have a wide variety of premium alcohol to make anything your heart desires - the team is very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Kristof was our very talented Mixologist - thank you Kristof for your wonderful service. I highly recommend popping in for a cocktail or 3! We hope to be back soon.

Very nice coctail bar with a great atmosphere and very good coctail selection. It would be 5* but we had to ask for the the menu 2 times, and we didn't get everything what we ordered, so there were some mistakes regarding the service. Besides this, staff is very nice, worth to visit.

Fantastic cocktails with really interesting flavours, and one of our favourites in Vienna. We tried the R&B, Smokey Eyes, Rice Rice Baby, and Snickers Old Fashioned, and all were excellent - really well balanced and fun combinations of flavours. We would have loved to have tried more (the whole menu looks great) but needed to run, so we'll have to settle for a return visit next time we're in town.

Wow! Amazing cocktails. Great recommendations from the bartenders and fantastic atmosphere. We were quite jet lagged and went earlier in the evening, so the atmosphere was very relaxed with great music for lounging and sipping. This will certainly be my first stop when I return to this gorgeous city.

Josef Cocktailbar is a must-visit if you are visiting Vienna and want to experience great service and excellent cocktails. Throughout my three visits (Fri-Sun), I always felt incredibly well taken care of by the staff, special shout-out to Georgi, the mixologist extraordinaire who not only made fantastic classic cocktails outside of their regular menu but also widened my horizons with suggestions and alternatives to my orders. Good amount of space to sit with friends inside and outside, medium to high noise level during peak visiting hours. Will most definitively re-visit when I come back to Vienna

The crazy lebrowski was “crazy” good indeed! Espresso martini is a great hit here too, definitely recommended :)

Snickers Old Fashioned?? As an “Old Fashioned” guy I found it superb. The cocktail was super balanced and mellow. Staff is super friendly and careful. The place has a cozy atmosphere where you can easily have a conversation without being bothered by the music (has just the right volume) or the crowd (place is a bit small).

Lovely bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are definitely on the higher side but it is completely worth it for the experience! My husband and I truly enjoyed it and the waiter/bartender was very friendly and made sure we had some unique drinks.

Great cocktail bar to have a special cocktail. The drink card is very clear and you get water served (for free) frequently.

Great place for some very special Cocktails. The vibe was fantastic and the Cocktails were carefully prepared. Staff was very polite and it will be on my favorite cocktail bars in Vienna. The prices are just a little bit higher than other cocktail bars, but reasonable compared to what is offered. I would highly recommend it.

A „real“ cocktail bar with nice atmosphere, super friendly staff and - most important - very tasty cocktails! Focused choice of special cocktails that you won’t get „everywhere“ and yet you can also order all the classics or tell the bartender what you like and they will come up with something perfect. I think prices are justified by the quality.

Amazing cocktail bar! It’s perfect for a “fancy” drink. I have to say I probably had the best drink ever here. It’s a bit expensive but the price reflects the excellent quality of the ingredients. The personnel is super professional, they even come to collect your coat. Btw I am taking out a star because I think that is such a fancy and super nice location smocking should not be allowed inside; it kind of negatively affects an overall lovely experience.
