There are a lot of Beautiful parks in Vienna and each of them fascinates with its own unique Beauty. No wonder this palace complex, built in the 18th century as a summer residence for one of the greatest commanders of his time, Prince Eugene of Savoy, is called in Italian - Beautiful View. The Upper and Lower Belvedere, together with the garden laid out around them, form a magnificent baroque ensemble.

A great place to take a walk after visiting the Belvedere Palace. The garden is very nice and well-kept, it amazes with its size! You don't have to buy a ticket to visit it, entry to garden is free.

An absolutely beautiful place to visit in Spring and Summer (I have not yet been in winter or autumn). Gorgeous flowers of all kinds decorate the gardens, as well as shrubs and topiaries. A nice place to sit in the afternoon and relax or take a stroll with family, or alone too.

Beautiful! I only went to the garden. So much to see. Also, there is a botanical garden behind that you can just walk into. The Belvedere garden and botanical garden are free. There is a restaurant and washrooms. There was a very interesting children rainbow art exhibition they I enjoyed. Public transportation is all around.

Marvelous, go visit it and then go to the upper Belvedere museum and drown yourself in some of the most striking pieces of art human has ever created. Makes you feel breathing without effort. Rare context, unique maybe?

Lovely public gardens. Would recommend for an afternoon/evening stroll. It has beautiful fountains and statues, well maintained paths and a hedge maze at the lower portion. Entry to the public is free and we saw many people jogging and enjoying the park, amongst the tourists. The Belvedere palace (art gallery) containing Klimt's most famous work (The Kiss) is inside the garden.

The well maintained gardens of the baroque Belvedere palace are worth a visit year round, especially around sunset. In the palace cafe, one can enjoy a slice of cake and a melange. Adjacent lie the university's Botanical Gardens (opening hours differ seasonally). Avoid walking on the lawns - unless you wanna come off as a tourist 😉.

The complex of palaces and gardens Belvedere is just a masterpiece. Two palaces (upper and lower), a complex of fountains, landscape design, a huge square. Therefore, this place is always crowded. Gorgeous art exposition of Gustav Klimt, including his most famous works. If you decide to see the palaces from the inside and see a collection of paintings, then it is better to take tickets online (the difference is noticeable). On Belvedere it is necessary to allocate at least 5-6 hours. It's worth seeing in person

I love the view of the city and the encounter of history with modern arts in this beautiful garden. There are also some interesting facts that you can read about the life of Prince Eugen, these can be read for free in English and German (in case you don't feel like joining a guided tour).

This is a lovely open garden, which has an intriguing variety of layers and sections even during the winter. There are statues (including a spooky giant spider), flowerbeds, and wide open paths. It's worth spending 10 minutes walking along the free gardens from North to South, but the buildings themselves seemed very crowded with tourists so we didn't attempt them.

We went there to primarily see paintings of Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, however the gallery showcases many works ranging from middle ages up to paintings from 70s of 20th century. Highly recommend.

The gardens were awesome to walk around and to use to take a break from the wind in a cold day. You can sit on a bench within some of the hedge walls for comfort.

A nice and historic place to visit while in Vienna. Spring summer and fall are all nice times to visit. The botanical gardens are also on this site. This is a very relaxed setting and serves as a good place to just sit and think. Families might struggle with kids along the long garden as restrooms aren't immediately and freely available. Don't underestimate how much walking there is to do in the gardens!

  • 5/5 Zeeshan 3 years ago on Google
What a marvelous piece of architecture and inaddition to the the beaituful gardens both at the front and the back adds charm to the scenery. One can also buy tickets in order to get access to the museum where the famous painting the kiss is kept. The Kiss is an oil-on-canvas painting with added gold leaf, silver and platinum. by the Austrian Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. It was painted at some point in 1907 and 1908, during the height of what scholars call his "Golden Period".

A nice place to visit. During the morning you can get a nice view from the back side of the Palace. The garden of the front was smaller but decorated with brightly colored flowers. The view from the back might look simple to many, but for me it was very beautiful. In the morning it's a very good place to jogg around a bit.

Very nice and picturesque place that one should definitely visit in Vienna. We had a great time having a walk around in the gardens. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus all exhibitions remain closed. Nonetheless, worth admiring from outside. I don't appreciate the toilets though, as one needs to have precisely a 50 cent coin, nothing else is accepted, a bit troublesome.

The gardeners are already working hard. Thank goodness the attached botanical garden, which is a pearl of Vienna, is open again. The upper belvedere is also open. Please note the respective opening times. (Original) Derzeit ist der Garten beim Palais im Winterschlaf und nur eingeschränkt betretbar. Die Pflanzen müssen vor der Kälte geschützt werden. Bitte die jeweiligen Öffnungszeiten beachten.

(Translated by Google) In times of Corona, visiting a beautiful park is one of the few diversions. This clearly belongs to architecturally and geographically interesting locations. It offers both a very nice view of the inner city with the "Steffl" and of course the upper and lower Belvedere. The Danube Tower can also be seen at a higher point. (Original) In Zeiten von Corona ist das Besuchen eines schönen Parks eine der wenigen Abwechslungen. Dieser gehört eindeutig zu architektonisch und der Lage her interessanten Lokationen. (Translated by Google) The Belvederegarten is a beautiful baroque palace and garden complex in the center of Vienna. The founder of this palace was the Duke of Savoy, one of the best strategists of his time as well as an art lover, as evidenced by numerous collections of paintings and sculptures. The only downside is the problem with parking the car, but you can easily get there by public transport, I recommend it (Original) Belvederegarten to piękny kompleks palacowo-ogrodowy w stylu barokowym w centrum Wiednia. Fundatorem tego pałacu byl książę Sabaudzki jeden z lepszych strategów swojego czasu a także miłośnik sztuki czego dowodem są liczne zbiory malarstwa i rzeźby. • 5/5 Taras D. 2 years ago on Google
The garden had a scenery enclosed by clipped hedging, even as the Belvedere was building, in the formal French manner with gravelled walks and jeux d'eau by Dominique Girard, who had trained in the gardens of Versailles as a pupil of André Le Nôtre. Its great water basin in the upper parterre and the stairs and cascades peopled by nymphs and goddesses that links upper and lower parterres survive, but the patterned bedding has long been grassed over; it is currently being restored.

This museum holds some of the most important works of artist Gustav Klimt, and the famous, The Kiss, which is marvelous. But the museum does not have very good signages outside the museum. Also in Vienna FM A0201-966 mask is compulsory for visiting any institution or public transport. They have a shop inside which sells this along with many art prints.

  • 4/5 Menahem Y. 1 year ago on Google
Spacious beautiful area to walk as well as beautiful exhibitions. However, there is no shade so in a hot day it's not very pleasant. We bought tickets to the gallery and the palace but we managed to visit only the gallery, which is beautiful. The entry to the palace has time slots so we had to wait in a long queue in the head for the doors to open. We skipped this.

Good place to sit and relax if you have plenty of time. I was here during my short trip to Vienna. Greenery all over. It's peaceful. The place is clean and well maintained. Lots of benches to sit under the trees. Overall I spent good quality time relaxing here after walking a lot in the city.

This palace is very grand and big. Have two large gardens in front and back. Lots of romantic spots and places to sit. Tulip flowers add beauty to gardens and fountains. It's better to start your walk around the garden from the front then the back. If tired, can rest at the cafe. It takes several times to take the train from Vienna to the Belvedere. Morning and evening are the best time to visit this place. Near the entrance there is a souvenir shop.

Surprising verbal aggression we have received when we want to approach our dog daughter to ask if that sign meant that he cannot enter or that he cannot walk on the grass. Vienna is not a dog-friendly city. It will be beautiful but for me it has lost all its charm.

Excellent and beautiful palace. We were able to buy tickets and get an immediate entry time on the day itself. Not too busy and great art work The only way to make this five star would be to have more staff patrolling each room. There was this annoying couple who were touching all the art work which you wouldn’t see at other museums in the UK or USA as much because of the security and staffing of each room

I visited in the fall, so did not get to see the gardens in their full glory, regardless it is beautiful. The Christmas Market was set up which made it very special. You get a lovely view of Vienna with all the church steeples.
