Nice. Clean. Quiet. Small. The water is fairly clear (I would estimate that you can see 1.5 meters deep), and not too cold. Just right for a hot day (it is 30 degrees centigrade now and getting hotter). Some ducks and small fish are swimming around, so I think the water must be at least somewhat healthy. There is a small number people (I came late Friday morning in the middle of July); therefore, it is quiet. Everyone here appears to be local (except yours truly). Facilities include picnic tables, trash cans, portable toilets, and some trees for shade. There are no snack kiosks, lockers, or any services like that. Nobody works here; everyone is here to enjoy themselves. There is a grassy area (see the satellite photos). There are two small sandy areas where you can access the water, as well as a ladder leading up to a concrete landing. The slope in the water is very gradual, making it very comfortable to wade in, even for a nervous swimmers, like myself. The parts of the lake floor that I went to had small round rocks, which were reasonably comfortable to walk on. Some areas have silt, which is also fairly comfortable, but unstable, and clouds the water when you walk in it.

The water is still a little bit cool at the beginning of May but wonderfully clear and refreshing. Come and take a dip! (They have dug up the ground during winter and the grass is coming back slowly.)

Very quiet and set back location. The water is quiet too, clean and good water quality. I was able to see the ground. It's easily deep enough to swim, but still somewhat shallow. Good entry to the water, clean grass area to chill and dry after a swim. I suggest going there by bike, and to bring some snacks and drinks :)

Max. 15 minutes on foot from the U2 (Donaustadtbrücke) or buses 92A / 92B (steamship heap stop). Dixi toilets and hydrant with drinking water (April to October) available. Absolutely no dogs! Wasserbrunnen vorhanden. Ein schönes Plätzchen!

(Translated by Google) A lawn on the banks of the Danube, where you can sunbathe and swim for free. There are steps to enter the water. In principle, nothing special. Clean, modest.

I visited on a Sunday morning in summer, naturally it became crowded but people were civilized, not noisy and maintaining the necessary distance. Water seemed reasonably clean and good for swimming.

Only a few free parking spaces available, best reached by bus 92A and at the weekend also at 91A station steamship heap. Food and drinks vis a vis in the streetcar Bad. Total fein!

Sonst Super

Narrow place, squeezed between private properties and those destined exclusively to various public bodies, such as police or road service. No feeling of being in the nature. Any access/parking difficult to impossible. Including for cyclists. Exiting the location by bike is so bad, that cyclists can hardly avoid entering freeway!! In conclusion: in total contradiction to Vienna's philosophy of high quality life!
