The Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel is an absolute attraction not to be missed. Built in 1945, it is regarded as one of the oldest Ferris Wheel in the world. Once you are inside one of it's cabins, the views of the city are breathtaking. It only takes 10-15 mins for the complete round but it's worth the time and money. Simply amazing.

If you come to Vienna and buy the transportation pass, it may be better to not buy tickets to attractions in advance online, as you will miss some of the discounts that come with it. Also there are some combination tickets that are not sold online, such as between the Ferris wheel and the Donauturm, and others. The view from the Wheel is good and it stops a number of times, so you can enjoy all the levels.

Go early (before opening) and you can buy the ticket from the booth. They will try and sell you an overpriced picture before you “board” the cabin by saying you don’t pay if you don’t like it. I refused to have it take as it was a solo visit and just to check it off the things to do. The ride is quick and you get to see the whole city. Sunnier days are better but even the muggy days are ok. (This particular day was rainy and muggy).

When you enter inside there is a small museum - the Panorama exhibition - showing scenes from Vienna's history and telling stories about the Prater. I took my family to Prater and it was very enjoyable. Prater had all kinds of amusements and my children enjoyed it. The Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel was widely known among tourists and the view you get from it, is beautiful. However, the tickets were a bit expensive, especially for having a family. Felt like the safest Ferris wheel I’ve ever been on! Such a smooth ride. Great views across the city from the top. It is expensive for one ride, that takes approx 10 mins, but worth doing once on your trip to Vienna

View is breathtaking, you can literally see most of Vienna when you’re up in there,, Prices are reasonable,, Unfortunately we had a wait for around 15 minutes, and when we got into the cart, it was somehow overcrowded, other than this, it was an amazing experience,,

Husband and I had a 3 course Swarovski romantic candle dinner. They served us with Viennese dishes (our choice) which was great coz we are tourists and would love to try local dishes. What I love most is the schnitzel and goulash, the main dish. We were also surprised with a free gift voucher that can be used in Swarovski store and some free stones as well. If you want to try this private dinner, in my opinion, sunset is the best time to book. Ambiance will be more romantic. Over all, everything is worth it and it was a great experience. Thanks to the dedicated staffs ❤️

Highly recommend. The park area is great to walk around. The Ferris wheel is good during the day to see the views of Vienna from high above. Another nice time to ride would be sunset or after the sun goes down for the lights. The cars are big cable cars with seating in the middle. I’m scared of heights and thought it was fine looking from the middle and not going near the edge. They also do not overload the cars. We saw a dining car that you can book to have a meal if you wanted. After you buy your tickets you walk through a room with art displays inside the cable cars.

The ferris wheel gives you a great view over the city, but this you can also get from the Schönbrunn Palace, which I'd recommended. Reason to go here is definitely all the attractions in the park. You can visit them, but make sure to take cash!

If you want to see the view to all of the city, go during daytime. There are also some pretty fun looking rides in the park.

Das Riesenrad-Feeling hatte mir etwas gefehlt. Aber es ist eben eine Touristenattraktion. Die Mitarbeiter super nett und auch die Organisation ist klasse.

Hier war etwas mehr los. Das berühmte Riesenrad von Wien. Keine lange Wartezeiten als wir dort waren. Vielleicht auch damit zu tun das wir unter der Woche hier waren. Lohnt sich. Ganz tolle Aussicht. Sie bieten hier auch ein Dinner für zwei an.

Honesty it was ok. The wait was long (30+mins) and the room your standing in doesn’t have A/C or any air movement at all! And then theirs nowhere to sit. I was expecting to be able to see a bit more of the landmarks at night with a pretty glow. But nope so if your going to do this I’d say it be more fun in the day when you can really see everything.

Fun ferries wheel. The line is long and there's no AC in the waiting room. The waiting room has a lot of fun display. Nice to have a great view of Vienna on the ferries wheel. You can also book a dinner service on the ferries wheel.

A wonderful view, wonderful weather, unfortunately a very bad smell in the cabin when entered in it but disspareared once we headed up and the gorgeous view for sure helped me forget about it and of course the small windows helped in eliminating it. Defintely recommend to try this Giant Wheel!

The Ferris Wheel has great views of the city. You’re on the ride for about 20mins so you have plenty of time to take in the views. If you’re afraid of heights, there are seats in the inside so you can sit down but still enjoy the view. The Ferris Wheel is located inside the an Amusement park called “The Prater”. We’re here at Christmas time, so there is a small market inside with fun food and things to buy.
