Amazingly good restaurant with high level local food. Usually a reservation is needed but we were lucky and we received a very nice table in the garden. We really enjoyed our stay !🤗 Highly recommended is the soup of asparagus! So yummy! 😋 The service is excellent. 👌 The Bulgarian guy was so careful and attentive that we felt like we're at home! Thank you! We will come back!

Incredible food and service. We went on a Tuesday around 2pm, it was mostly full with empty tables reserved. They were kind enough to find us a spot without reservation. We went for schnitzel pork as I really wanted to have a potato salad, goulash and sausages. Everything was so on point and perfect. The inn is also really cool and gives a certain vibe to the experience. Really, go for it!

While the food was superb, service was also top-notch. They all displayed their own charm and humour, and did so with grace. All of what makes a perfect classic viennese restaurant

Certainly popular, among tourists and locals alike, very friendly and passionate staffs. Tried their seasonal menu with lots of asparagus (one of my fav) Food prepared using fresh ingredients and high quality cooking.

Very atmospheric, authentic place with great food. We loved the lamb’s lettuce salad, beef gulyas, and fried veal liver. Good wine and schnapps selection too. One of our new favorites in Vienna!

We arrived after walking for hours at lunchtime and had no booking. They could only fit us in for an hour but that was heaps of time. The service was 1st class. The staff were very pleasant. The food was superb. I had the black pudding and potatoes with horseradish and cabbage salad on the side. What a stonking (my word for delicious and daunting) meal. A dry white Veltliner or 2 to go with it. It was a Saturday and there were lots of families there too. Really lovely place. The lady who runs it was very affable. We had a truly memorable experience.

Excellent quality food with friendly high quality service and a good atmosphere without being too loud. Clearly popular but walk-ins appeared possible early or late evening.

Wonderful place! The Schnitzel was amazing! The only thing that I can add here is to have bigger tables. The portions are good enough but the table is small. The staff was friendly and very helpfully!

The location is not great but ok. It's right by the stairs before the main street. I ordered the Viennese steak. The steak was very rough and had lots of hard food in it. Not sure if that's how they serve their meat there. The fried potatoes and the pickled salad were nice and enjoyable. The apple strudel was OK for dessert. The service was OK. The atmosphere is not that great. The outdoors seating is fun and enjoyable but the inside is smelly and is tight. I understand they are trying to preserve the old wooden antique style but it gotta smell good.

We've had Gmoa Keller suggested to us by our hotel receptionist at HiLight Suites hotel which is just around the corner from the restaurant. I can only say, that the experience felt quite local and native to Wien (the local name of Vienna) and Austria, as a whole. We've had the pork schnitzel with potato salad sides. And quite an interesting soup to start with - a pancake sliced soup. The apfel strudel was also a nice ending to the whole meal. There were a few beers suggested as well, and we chose the cloudy white local one. Unfortunately didn't really remember the name of it though. But it tasted quite nice. Recommended!

Very good food and beer. The people working there were very kind and polite. I had a portion of viennese schnitzel with potato salad. Both were very good and flavory, not to mention that the portion was huge. Also, there are plenty of tables. I highly recomend the restaurant.

Amazing place👌 I tried scallops for the first time and for a reasonable price! One meal is around 15-17€ and the quality is really good.

True Viennese place with chic atmosphere and interior. Better to order a table in advance. Quite heavy traditional food (breaded fish, potato’s salad with mayonnaise, strudel with a lot of butter). Great place to visit with seasonal options

My Viennese friends brought me to this atmospheric restaurant serving authentic Austrian cuisine. The liver meat ball soup was unique for me. The stewed pork, served with creamy smashed potato, was so delicious. I highly recommend it if you would like to try Austrian food.

Great place to go to if you want to eat Austrian food (although I had a gazpacho 😅 to start with). I was tempted with it as it had a scallop, which was cooked to perfection (just a bit disappointed as it literally was one single piece on the soup -€7.50) The pork schnitzel was the best and it was the size of a giant plate, came with a really tasty potato salad. The brief gulasch was another favourite on our table! But if I went back, I'd try the chanterelle gulasch or the black pudding cabbage dish that we make at home sometimes!! This place isn't cheap but it's definitely a real Austrian experience (was taken there by two Austrians)... Expect to pay apx. €30/€40 pp if you have a starter and a drink...

Please be aware of shady business practices!!! I’ve travelled in 16 countries this year and this is the first time I’ve felt duped on my bill. I asked for a salad starter and it is common to get side bread with it or at least bread for the table for a group meal. This bread was placed on my table and then charged per item afterwards. I ordered the schnitzel and was asked if I wanted cranberry sauce too. This was not clear in the presentation that it was also an optional extra. After waiting over 10minutes for my bill I felt pressured by the waiter who had made clear to other tables I. Earshot that he was negotiating his tip. I found this unprofessional and unnecessarily pressuring. I normally tip 20% but only did 10% on this occasion. The food was very good but this experience was not pleasant. A simple “service is not included” when presenting the bill is common and sufficient.

Wonderful restaurant with delicious Austrian cuisine and great service. Even though the place is very busy the service is professional, friendly and efficient. No complaints! We went for lunch without a reservation but the restaurant seemed to be almost full so I recommend to book a table in advance. Popular for dinner too. Sometimes fully booked. I’ve had the Wiener schnitzel every time but they have many other tasty looking options. The schnitzel is so good that I never get the opportunity to try anything else. It’s not a ‘touristy’ restaurant which is also nice.

Very authentic Austrian place with traditional dishes. The food was very delicious and of high quality. They have regional suppliers of their ingredients and meat. Staff was very friendly.

So happy I saw this place from my hotel room. Professional and friendly service (always a winning combination), traditional Viennese and Austrian dishes featuring a solid schnitzel. Will definitely return on my visits to Wien.

Very kind and motivated service, above average for Vienna! Everything we ordered was delicious, from the cold cucumber soup to the Wiener Schnitzel, Octopus and Pasta! A real authentic Viennese cuisine!

The GMOAKELLER serves very good traditional food, even brain with egg. Hirn mit Ei. The interior is very authentic too. Notice the huge painting. It’s by the famous Austrian artist Hermann Nitsch, who is notorious for spilling pig’s blood on canvas.

Very nice restaurant off the main road. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have a reservation and they still worked to fit us in. I had the Martin’s Goose which was delicious, and my friend ordered the Vienna Schnitzel which he also rated as top notch.

typical, traditional and tasty austrian food with a very friendly, professional service. nearby the first district, so it's a little cheaper but the same quality as all the other touristy places. Lunch menu is a bit of a hit and miss - something great and something there is nothing to choose from. But overall, a very good place to eat at.

This hidden gem is one of our best finds in Vienna. We came here without reservation and could get a table. We ordered potato soup and mushroom and Viennese steak with fried onions.both soup and Steak were really great! The sirloin steak was sooo tender and were placed in a gravy like sauce with onions on top. That’s a must try! Servers were very attentive, helpful and fast. We enjoyed the vibe of this local restaurant.

Great dinner for the Gansl. And a very pleasant service (quite rare in Vienna), Atanas advised us good wine and schnapps. Soon again !

Found this place on our last day in the city and went for lunch. The setting and atmosphere is lovely, slightly off the beaten track and felt like a true traditional Austrian restaurant. The menu had plenty of non-beef choices and the food and drinks we ordered were great. We enjoyed everything, but the only thing that let it down at the end was being left for half an hour after our mains were cleared and not being offered any dessert or coffee, and then having to ask twice for the bill which took 15 minutes to appear.

If you are looking for tasty, traditional food when in Vienna, Gmoakeller is a place to be! Food is delicious and staff super friendly! Don’t miss their baked marrow, pumpkin soup and especially their baked veil liver! Serving time especially with starters could be improved but the rest was really a super positive experience!
