I have no comments for the staff. they forced us to pay in cash because they can't split the bill into 7 people to pay by card! after that they asked for a tip.. prehistoric people!! For the food.. no issue.. very good food!

This place just sucks. Let me paint the picture, upon walking into this restaurant there were no vibes, royalty free music playing from a small speaker in the next room. Most tables were empty. Menu prices were extremely high but we were hopeful. We ordered “roast beef” from the menu for €25 euros to be delivered a plate of a minute steak and some frozen potato balls. Ketchup and mayonnaise was given along side our €25 schnitzel, without being notified this would add €2.40 to the bill? And just when I thought that my culo had been stretched enough we got a surprise €6.50 at the bottom of the bill reaching €71.70. AND they even asked for a tip. If you don’t believe me look at my pictures. So sad because this venue has great potential and history and all they use it for is ripping off tourists.

I have lived for 17 years in Vienna, and moved abroad in 2016. I still come here every time I come visiting. I was quite surprised to read negative reviews about the food (solid Austrian cuisine) and prices. Inflation is hitting Austria as well- if as a tourist you are not willing to pay a bit more (to me the prices are reasonable...) remember you are sitting in an amazing historic location too. In other countries they would ask you to pay just to enter the place. The waiters were exceptionally nice and even offered us a tour in the rooms upstairs. Sitting at the open window hearing the horses passing by took me back in time.

We decided on an early dinner (5:00 pm) and asked our carriage driver for an excellent, local restaurant to eat at. He suggested Gosser Bierklinik, a short walk from the Spanish Riding School. Side note: we have tried “Austrian/German” food in America at some well-thought of restaurants, and we were very disappointed. This establishment blew our socks off! Delicious, authentic, friendly service from Christian our server and a new-found love for Austrian food are what we found at Gosser Bierklinik. If you visit Vienna, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Schweinschnitzel (wiener schnitzel from pork) is shown on menu as just under 18 euros. Due to this high price we asked the waiter if the side dish is included, he said no and we got up to go elsewhere. Then he said that potato salad or mixed salad is included, I asked if it is surely included in 18 euros, he said yes, so we sat down and stayed we ate and the bill came at the end of 85 euros for 3 people, salad charged extra around 4-5 euros each so a schnitzel + salad is 23 euros instead 18. Given that you can get a schnitzel + salad for < 15 euros in most places in Vienna I would go elsewhere and not overpay the food here.

An Austrian friend recommended me this place, he said I should try the liver as it is traditional Austrian cuisine. I have to admit, is was good. What I didn't enjoy about the dish I blame it on the fact that I've never tried liver before and it was a flavor I'm not used to or particularly enjoy. Still, it was good. I also tried the struddel! It was really good. The place was cool and the people were nice, would go back any day, but I'll try something less adventoruous.

Went here for dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant wasn't overly busy. We had the sesame crusted salmon. The salmon was bland, the sesame seeds didn't add anything to the meal and the pasta that was served on the side also was bland. Overall not terrible but not worth the money and probably the worst meal we had while in Vienna. The waiter was ok, professional but a little cold.

Understandably, the Christmas menu might have a higher price, appreciating the effort of the staff working on holidays. However, it's essential that the quality matches the expectations. Unfortunately, the Viennese broth tasted more like a packaged one, and the deer was regrettably overcooked, nearly inedible. Sometimes, it's advisable to remain within achievable standards. Additionally, it's crucial to be cautious about the bill, particularly the automatic inclusion of a 10% tip, even if it's labeled as indicative. This might approach legal limits—an aspect I intend to research further.

This restaurant is a little bit out of the active city center. It brings a very calm and more or less silent mood inside. The staff is very nice, the style is fancy but you don't feel you are under pressure. The food is very tasty. We have tried schnitzel, potato soup, and mixed salad. They have house beer which is the right choice if you want a beer. It is worth coming here every time you appear in Vienna.

We went here to grab a nice lunch after some sight seeing. When we arrived we walked into the restaurant and there was no one in sight. We heard some people at the bar but waited at the front-desk to be seated. After about 3 min of waiting we were greeted by a server who then showed us to a table near the bar. We ordered something to drink and weren’t given any time to select any food since the waiter took our menus and left. Sadly even though we seemed to be one of the only table there we waited for about 10 min for our drinks to arrive and the waiter left again before we could say anything. After that we waited about 15 min to see our waiter again and by that time we were finished with our drinks and decided to pay. This was not our first time here - the last few times were great. But it seems something has changed here. It’s still a very beautiful restaurant with a nice ambiance but the service is just not up to the standards you would expect from a restaurant in this price range.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The food was great and the beer even better. It wasn’t very busy or full of tourists. I recommend it!

It was the worst experience of our stay in Viena. Malísima experiencia. Très mauvaise expérience a Vienne. Very rude waitress. We asked for a wine but the other members of the table didn’t want to drink and the waitress got mad. We also wanted advice on which plates we should order and he responded that everything was typical. We were not that hungry and didn’t let us share plates 2 plates for 3 people in a very agressive way. He left our table screaming and shouting insults. Very very bad attention so we decided to leave the place very scared .

We had a lovely night! It was a nice atmosphere, we eat very well and the service was very friendly ! I think it must be honored that the stuff work on Christmas and still make such a great job!

Pretty good food. Very limited menu but that is understandable as Austria has limited national dishes.

If you like Vienna food, it is the right choice for you. It is not too cheap but can be worth it. Especially, when you eat a special Tafelspitz as you can see on the picture for around 26€. Moreover, it is in the center of Vienna close to the Stephansdom.

Amazing beers and superb service. My girlfriend and I visited Vienna for a weekend. We visited several places including Gősser Bierklinik. Here we were treated with great beers of Austria and felt in good company with the personal. Highly recommended!

Excellent beers in a lovely old setting. Staff were excellent and explained the beers well. Very good layout with plenty of seating options from booths to open plan. Great place to stop off during a walk around the centre of Vienna.

I went here because a friend suggested. Worst experience ever! The restaurant is I’ll prepared to get large parties. They accept reservations until 9:45 just to say that they’ll close at 10. Food is expensive and not worth the price. To make matters worse I paid a lot more to help the students in my group but the restaurant computer system is not able to split bills. Regardless, the food is not worth the hassle. Much better things around

the food was fantastic, it is mostly traditional food and it was, again, really good; I really recommend this place, the waiters speak good english, so it is easy to communicate; note: the place is not the most elegant, it is very typical, and can also satisfy most people with various tastes. I really recommend this typical restaurant.

An absolute gem so close to the bustle! I stopped in on a rainy Sat when all other venues were an hr+ wait. I was sat in a side room by the bar, which was cozy and quiet. Quick, very friendly service. I ordered the schnitzel and potato salad. It was delicious, fresh and well plated. This will definitely be one of my go to spots!

Gosser Special - the best beer in Vienna!! Well, for me, at least 😉 Restaurant located within 3 minutes of walk from Stephansdom, offering tasty food and fantastic beer. Staff is friendly and welcoming.... Definitely recommend 👍👍👍

Old beer restaurant in the center of Vienna. The food was delicious, black pudding was outstanding, but the ribs were slightly dry. As for the beer, it is excellent.

We stopped in the beer hall adjacent to the restaurant for a quick drink. The prices are reasonable for the location. The service and atmosphere are good in this bar that features Gosser beer. This is a great place to stop for a beer if you're out & about in Vienna.

Super friendly service, squeezed into a table without a reservation in a cosy corner, and a great affable waiter who offered without pressure, consulted without concern, always with a relaxed smile despite rushing around.

We wait one hour and half for our plates. The goulash wasn't good. I suggest the fried veal and the spinach with feta. The service took too long and the waiters doesn't care about the client.

Great atmosphere! Tasty schnitzel and goulash! Cold draught beer is always good. Prices just ok, but it is in a tourist area.

Unfortunately we gad to leave after 30 minutes waiting for waiter. When I asked him, he said that he forgot and if we want we can leave LOL. No apologies. Nothing. However the hostess from Poland was really nice. Thus 1 additional star for her.

They did not get me my meal and it was purposely. It is a shame that i have to do this. I have always really liked that venue. Why god, why?

Great place to go with a big crowd like your colleagues to go eat and drink alcohol. Here you can be loud and be yourself without having the feeling that you are annoying others. Small and cosy. Quite warm in the winter
