đź‘Ťđź‘Ť This little tea house is a lovely option for people who have done the big pricey afternoon teas and want good quality food and tea, rather gilded inedible cookies. Beautifully decorated, relaxing atmosphere, and delicious warm drinks. Highly recommend!

As a tea lover, I must admit it's very hard to find a decent tea house in Europe. Channagasse is one of those rare exceptions, an island within an ocean. The teahouse is unique in that in combines three key ingredients. It's very well located, within walking distance of anything in the city center. The staff, Sergey and his team, are amazing, providing a fabulous service paired with immense tea expertise. And lastly, the quality of their tea is superb. It's not easy to find such high quality pure tea anywhere in Europe. If you enjoy tea, want to get into tea, or are just looking for a peaceful place to relax and center your mind, Channagasse is a must go. Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip to Vienna! Rising cup to my brothers of the leaf!

2023 Edit: while the tea room itself has merits, the fact that it's closed randomly and that nobody replies either on the phone or on IG makes it to unreliable. Prefer Jäger Tee or Rami Tea for consistency. Probably the best tea room in Vienna for tea connoisseurs, at a great price to boot. The staff and the owner are knowledgeable and friendly, bonus point for the late closing hour (8pm). There are also plenty of tea magazines (such as Eighty) to read from, as well as WiFi. They also serve a bit of food (quiche and snacks) if you're a little hungry. Count 5-6€ for a teapot (best if you only want a single tea/are in a rush) and a 10€ fixed fee for Gong Fu Cha + 4€~ per tea (best to sample several teas/take it easy for one afternoon).

Made appointment for a tea ceremony at the Teehaus to gift the experience to our friends. The host was extremely kind and knowledgeable. He gave us a low down on the available tea leaves, as we smelt them and shared our notes. He then taught us how to make the tee and helped us pick complimentary tees. (Note: A table of two gets one tea flavor). We sat there refilling our cups till the leaves began to lose their taste. The ambience was fabulous too! Highly recommend taking time out to visit here!

Amazing oasis of calmness in the city centre! The person there was so kind to show me the practicalities of the tea ceremony, and I spent a great time taking a break from the noise of the city and enjoying Oolong tea without any rush ❤️

No pride or appreciation for good tea. Their menu only says "green tea", or "oolong", but you cannot choose WHICH green tea or oolong. They also don't give you recommendations or let you choose from a variety of options or tell you how the tea is going to taste. When I visit a tea house, I expect them to know about tea and give me basic information about the taste, region, season, etc. Prices are very high and refills (= plain hot water for a second brew) cost extra, even though it is just hot water. Cannot recommend.

Great tea house, perfect if you wanna relax and enjoy a quality cup of tea in Vienna city centre. The owner is really kind and happy to explain every detail of the tea before you choose the one you want to drink. We tried a white tea (moonlight) and a red tea, both great.

One has to pay 10 € extra. On the menu isn't written this extra payment. And no one tells you until you get the bill. Apart from that, the tee service is nice, but it doesn't worth the price.

Finally! A tea paradise <3 I absolutely love tea and it is so satisfying to be able to enjoy it in such a cozy and delightful atmosphere! Absolutely recommend this place. Wonderful when people follow their passion and share the love with others. This is definitely what Sergei and his team are doing. Best of luck and warm greeting from South Tyrol :)
