Wirtshaus - Zur Elektrischen

Restaurant

👍👍 The food and the atmosphere are fantastic, local and authentic! Even a simple salad is made a masterpiece with the right combination of flavors. We also tried a schnitzel that was also great. The hosts, I can’t call them just staff, are really friendly. Totally worth the visit. Can pay with card. People often mention local,

Excellent food. The menu is only in German, but handwritten and basically unreadable, which means the last had to explain the dishes to everyone. This does give a personal touch, but also takes some time. She is very friendly though. I had the cheeks, which I can highly recommend. My wife had the salmon which she also liked. If you want to have vegetables you have to order a side dish though. It must be stated that from the outside the restaurant does not look appealing. But first impressions can deceive.

If you are looking for good local food in Vienna, that's certainly one of the places that you should check out. You won't be able to read the menu but can hope that you'll get a good explanation. Good wine as well!

One of the best restaurants I've been to! This place is local. No other tourists around when we visited. Also, menu is hand written and German only so a bit of help is needed from the very helpful staff. This is local, Austrian cuisine at its finest. We ordered beef and potato soup which were rich, tasty and amazing. Then we got a customary Vienner schnitzel with potato salad, a cutlet with asparagus and onion baked potato and stewed pork with some mash and veggies. Everything was perfectly made and served. Amazing! Also the place is very rustic chic, homely and inviting. The final damage was 91€ which may be a bit steep, but not really when your dinner is also an unforgettable experience. Will come back ... Also, the closest ATM is about 200m left down the street. Just saying ...

Amazing place! Menu is only in German but the lady/owner was delightful and very helpful. One of our favorite meals. Get the Apple dessert. It’s incredible!

Entering the restaurant it feels like visiting my grandmother when I was a little child. One really feels at home. It is one of the most traditional, maybe the most traditional tavern "Wirtshaus" I have been too. Selfmade lemonade of a local fruit called Dirndl. It is delicious! Here you get the real traditional and local dishes. From a really tasteful broth til homemade cakes. The meat is on point. The owner is really polite and has very good manners. She told me to eat more when I already was feeling full. Just like my grandmother did. 😁 Dirndl Soda selbstgemacht. Sehr empfehlenswert. Es ist super lecker.

Really cozy place with a very friendly host and delicious food! They don't use a menu (yet?) but present you the dishes with a lot of enthousiasm. Really worth a visit!

We had the most wonderful meal here this evening. It was our last night in Vienna and we wanted to have just one more meal before we left town. We read the reviews for this place, which was close to our hotel, and decided to check it out in spite of the thunderstorms and heavy rain. When we got there, the hosts were about to close, having given up for the evening on account of the weather. They generously opened up their kitchen just for us, and served us the most amazing meal of beef in a flavorful sauce of seasonal mushrooms and accompanied by perfectly crisp potatoes. The hosts, new young owners, were delightful, and the food wonderful. Highly recommend! Word to the wise...they do not take Visa, so bring your Euros!

I never leave reviews but this time I have to: this was a top-notch experience from top to bottom! The food was exquisite and the service was a perfect combination of professionalism and informality. A must repeat for the next trip to Vienna.
