Looking for different styles of graffiti? Buy stocks in spray paints and you'll be rich! Don't bother with this cruise. It's simply not worth it. The cruise takes a U-turn at the end and does not go to the Donau River. If you're looking to do this cruise, just play this video on repeat and you'll get the same effect.

I went on Route A and thoroughly enjoyed it with lovely views on the Danube. Some of the other reviews here put me off but I think they took Route C as that route is fully contained in the canal. The food was good quality but I recommend trying to get on early as the best seats go quick.

When in city with big river you should explore it by boat as you will have different perspective on the city. I have to admit that I did it because it was included in Vienna Pass. And it was nice experience but I was rather disappointed that it was not the one advertised on the Vienna pass map all around island but it was still interesting with some peculiar buildings further from the city center and we had to return as river was closed further on in that direction. Blue Danube is nice boat with restaurant and lots of space. I took nice place on the front but unfortunately some very loud annoying French group came and it was hard to understand what was said in German and English. It is good that I do not understand lot of French but they did not have to leave France to discuss some very funny topics for them at least (used to impress girls apparently). I had option to move from there but I decided to ignore them. There are other cruises offered by company and for me is interesting one going to Bratislava with fancy new boat but I did not have time for that. And I was afraid that loud French group of 4 will join me again! I agree with other reviewers that it is too expensive and not so interesting like one in Berlin for example. But on the other hand, I you are walking whole day it is nice to sit and relax for one hour and view is nice as the pictures will show. I would recommend it for Vienna pass holders and only ones for several days.

DDSG Blue Danube is shade better than bland and has master being a 'middling' experience. A vaguely enjoyable 3.5 hours on the cusp of so much more but indifferently stumbling its way to so much less.

Not worth the money in my opinion. If you like river cruises you might like it, but I do them in every city I visit to see the city from the water. There is not a ton to see from the water in Vienna so the view is mostly of graffiti covered walkways, some shoreline parks, and the modern Vienna side. Also incredibly difficult to hear the guide so I wasn't even sure what we were passing sometimes. Sorry but this one is a no for me. If it sounds fun to you go for it, but I would not recommend this for my travel friends based on the lack of interesting views and commentary. Additionally, booking online was a nightmare and I am 95% sure they never gave my refund for my first booking I made when I misread the confusing schedule and then emailed to follow up about it. They told me to just book the one I actually wanted and they would refund me the other tickets for the first cruise. I booked the new tickets, but I'm pretty sure I never got the refund for the old ones. Now, that was my mistake for booking the wrong one so I take responsibility for that and I'm not even mad considering this was months ago so I'm not looking for the money now. I just highly recommend being extremely careful if you book online as the locations for pick up and drop off are a bit understated in the fine print which can lead to misunderstandings. So the confusing booking website alone would've bagged 4 stars with a warning to be careful but that combined with the actual experience being quite lackluster for the price and I'm giving it 3 stars.

Not worth at all. There is nothing to see in the boat trip. Just green bushes and trees, also the grafiti under the bridges. The price for 28 eur and nothing to see.

Cruise ship nice & comfortable. Friendly staff and reasonably priced food & drink. Unfortunately nothing to look at, no views except for the lock gates. Each cruise only goes part way round do need to buy 2 tickets to get back to start.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! It is not mentioned that you waste 30-40 minutes waiting in a place to normalize the level of the water. Plus there is absolutely nothing interesting that you see.

Ill let the photos speak for themselves. 27.5 euros for what? Also no guide no info nothing The waiter was mean rolled his eyes on me whenever I wanted to order or ask a question, and the chef downstairs was so disrespectful. Everyone was using their phones and 1 hour felt like forever. Cant wait until they shut this down.

Be careful here! There are a few options here, make sure you take the one that goes through the lock into the Danube. There is one a little bit cheaper that only takes you to the lock and back in the inner canal and it is not worth the money. The Danube one is outstanding and I strongly recommend it!

Nice to get on the water and see some of Vienna from that spectrum however there is not many attractions around the banks and was a bit confusing why boat didn't make the circle and connect with the real Danube River. Overall a nice and relaxing time and able to purchase food and drinks.

This is for the 3-hour evening tour: The idea is great. The boat and the staff are great. Food is unexpectedly decent, including vegetarian/vegan options if you’re wondering. But…at least half of the three-hour tour is passed in the locks, during which time there’s nothing to see deep between two concrete walls, and if you’re sitting outside, the exhaust of the boat can be a little too much. If you’ve been on boat tours in other places, you’ll find this tour quite boring and unimpressive. Seeing how the locks work may be interesting…maybe. But not really. Throughout the tour, when you’re not stopped in the locks, the canal and the river itself are beautiful but there’s VERY little to see. I mean very very very little. Trees lining the river, and then towards the end, a little bit of the city skyline (if that). If your expectations are managed, you could enjoy it much better.

Nice short sail on the Danube canal (not the river). Not much to see of the city but still relaxing.

A fun, 2 hour cruise down the Danube. Decent service, food and drinks.

An average trip. The boat old dirty run down was crowded and so hot it was impossible to sit downstairs. You couldn't hear the commentary. Once you get out of the central bit, there was not a lot to see. Views out of the windows were fine, and the service was good. Overall, I didn't feel it was good value for money, unlike the same sort of thing in Budapest, which was great.

Nice trip for family 75 min accourate. C line-yellow! Price is average about 50 euro. Children up to 9 years free.

Quite good organized, driver is exceptional, drive through the most picturesque and scenic routes. Ride on the boat was a pleasant experience, wonderful atmosphere, calming and relaxing. Please, note that the best day to go is a workday, I went on Monday and place was not crowded at all. You will be stopping on the route in 2 places advised by tour guide, but it's pricey and better to take something or with you like a snack and dine in Hallstatt.

The staff members were rude, and the lack of beautiful scenery was disappointing, considering the price. It felt like a scam! The waiter seemed irritated with our menu choices and was unwilling to take our order, and unfortunately, the kitchen staff also displayed a great deal of disrespect.

Nice little cruise down the river. food was fine and service was good . it was snowing which made it very nice. if you have spare time you go on for this . but not a must.

  • 2/5 Mark G. 1 year ago on Google
The 75 minute tour doesn't exactly show anything worth seeing, it is a short ride through the urban side of Vienna, without much to look at. There is a restaurant on board so maybe that's the main appeal to some people. For the price of the cruise itself, definitely not worth it.

Its a good thing to do in the city. But be careful about the times. When we were there, quite a lot of boats were cancelled, and everyone wad either pushed into our boay or given the money back. Th coffee and cake was good, along with the view. Its good to spend time with your family and friends.

It was a horrible trip, it started with so many people on board (overloaded) that there is no place to stand besides to sit and relax, it is a trip to enjoy people pay money to enjoy the time and not to cram inside the boat and wait for the end of the trip, we were a group of 20 people and we paid $ At least 500 euros for what? We did not enjoy the trip at all and when I spoke with the captain he told me that this was a problem with the sales office, it was a very bad experience and did not reflect Vienna's beautiful reputation for sophistication, life and luxury.

Nice cruise through the canal to great Danube. Vienna Card/Pass owner has good price for tickets.

My family took the route B. The place was clean, some staff were friendly but the waiter seem friendly only to the those who ordered food. 🤷🏻‍♀️ No one said that those who will sit on the upper deck with tables and chairs are who for those who intend to order food. So you might get that cold treatment when you do sit there and not order. The person opening the gate at the entrance was not so nice. He was being sarcastic and shouting at some elderlies and guests that exited the boats a bit slow/late. Sure they have a schedule to keep but a bit of kindness would have been better. Entrance was also a bit chaotic. No one was falling in line. And it was like a free for all thing. They have some kind of an overhead recorded guide but you won’t hear anything at all. So it‘s useless really. The only nice thing about our ride was that we met some nice women that our kids talked too. Overall for us, it wasn’t worth it at all. Probably for adults it might be fun but not with kids.

Food was plentiful and nicely prepared. Buying the ticket and then getting information was a nightmare, as the ticket office closes at 4pm and the boat sails at 7pm. The views are not great. The music needed a bit more variety for an international audience. The players had set pieces, which lost many guests. Being an entertainer myself, they needed to change their music to entertain rather than lose the majority of the audience. Overall, I would not do it again.

Everything was smooth, right on time, don't count in the audio guide, the volume was low, and rarely gave any information

Nice experience to cruise along the glorious Danube river, well maintained boats and well served with a nice cuisine. The commentary though should have been better delivered maybe by headsets so you can select your preferred audio channel (like Big Bus for example). Otherwise, staff were friendly as well was the front desk employees they were adorably supportive and welcoming.

Disappointed with the tour. It was more of a Canal tour and not much to see on the route. Have enjoyed better ones in Bruges in Belgium.

  • 4/5 Maria A. 2 years ago on Google
We took the short Strecke B and enjoyed the ride itself. A useful tip would be to get there a bit earlier to get tickets and get on board before most of the other as the nice seats are quickly taken. Do not seat on the very top of the ship as well,as they close this part once the sip enters the canal, as it is too close to the bridges. I definitely do NOT recommend the strudel and the coffee on board.

👍 A very simple and fast way of getting to Bratislava from Vienna. Easy access from the centre of each city. But, I wouldn't want to lug a large or heavy suitcase off the boat in Bratislava as there is no lift up the quay. Journey time downriver was 75 minutes. We pre ordered a coffee and cake set wh...

😐 Tour overall pretty bland. 1 hour boat trip to the national park, with explanations on tape, but unfortunately not very well done.
