Porzellanmuseum im Augarten

Tourist attraction Museum

🫤 Museum is just ok. We were highly disappointed to see that the porcelain we bought at the museum's shop was made in Germany, when we were already home and could not return it anymore. People often mention porcelain, museum, beautiful, Augarten, tour, visit,

The Augarten Porcelain has been around for a long time! The quality of the porcelain is very high, and after the tour and museum visit, I now understand why - everything in the process of making the porcelain pieces is done by hand! I would recommend taking the tour, and not just visiting the museum. The tour is in German, but there are also headsets available in English. The tour is given by a worker in the porcelain factory, and you get to go through the actual working spaces of the workers at the factory. I used a NÖ Card / Gutschein for the tour and museum visit, which I found fine for. For me, the normal price of the tour and museum seems high (17,00€ per person), but so are the prices of the Augarten porcelain pieces. Although beautiful, it is not in my budget to purchase. There is a Garderobe available for coats, as well as lockers. Be sure to try out the Restaurant next door!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This was our first time visiting this museum. All in all: 1. Luckily we were able to visit the museum for free with the NÖ Card. There are only 2 manageable, large rooms. With a few exhibits and a bit of history to read about. It's designed to be totally dry and boring... so not for children at all. 2. I understand that there is a long history behind this company, a great tradition. But...in my opinion the prices for the products are simply excessive. Name or not, but if I want to buy a dog (30cm long, 15cm high) made of porcelain that I can only dust off anyway and nothing more, then I will certainly NOT for a four-digit (!!!) € amount. 3. It should also be mentioned in passing that the staff on site is not the most attentive or friendly. One visit, free - you can do it once. However, with the best will in the world, I wouldn't pay for it!

Too expensive for such a small museum. The fat blonde lady at reception was really not friendly.

PORCELAIN MUSEUM in AUGARTEN Obere Augartenstraße 1, 1020 Vienna A very fine, small, informative museum in the wonderful ambience of the Augarten. If you are a porcelain lover it is an absolute must, if not, then a colorful and interesting excursion into the world of porcelain. In addition to the museum, you can also marvel at Augartenporzellan's current range of products. For those interested in history, there is currently a special exhibition about Leopoldine, Habsburg Empress of Brazil. _____________________________________________ Augartenmuseum once a year, it just has to be! Because not only the wonderful location in the Augarten, but also the beautiful changing exhibitions make a visit very special. Porcelain, tableware, sculptures, miniatures in beautiful shapes and colors entice you to look, think and convey hours of lightness and joy.

Very beautiful (and expensive) collection of porzelan dishes and dolls. Nice to see and if the factory is working worth to go inside and see how the pocellan is made

The museum chronicles the history of porcelain manufacturing in Europe and especially in Vienna. The collection contains many historically significant pieces.

It was fascinating to watch all the details of making porcelain, and considering how much work goes into that process also explains the high prices of Augarten products.
