We visited Grüner See in Oktober and it was a bit dissappointment. There was very low water level and somehow we thought the lake is bigger. But the air is very clean. We had a nice walk. The tour is easy around the lake.

On of the most beautiful lake I ever seen! To bad we couldn't dive anymore inside, I was really chocked by the numer of people in the middle of nowhere!!!^^ Amazing!

What a wonderful place hidden between woods and mountains. Small but lovely and captivating. It is hard to leave once you are around it. We went while it was cloudy and rainy but that didn't make it a bad experience. Doesn't matter how the weather is - this place is totally worth visiting at any time. Although i would say best time to visit is early summer - mid summer as heard the water level goes down once August approaches. It was about 2h drive from Vienna and then about 15 min walk from parking which costs 6 Euros to park for 1 day. The road from Bruck a.d Mur is also a pleasant journey with scenic meadows.

Beautiful place where you can see algae growing on the bottom of the lake which gives it it’s recognisable bright green colour. Hiking trail goes around the lakes, it’s a loop trail that you can finish in under 2 hours. Terrain is pretty flat and well taken care of. Place is clean without any trash in sight and let’s keep it that way!

Beautiful quiet day. Rain kept the crowds away but my dogs and I had a great time just breathing the clean air and enjoying the sound of wind blowing through the trees.

I went there along with my family by car. A clean and calm surroundings and as the name suggests - the lake is green and swimming/camping etc is prohibited. The parking place (costs 6 EUR flat for a day) is about a km away from the lake as one can reach the lake either by walking on foot or on a bicycle. Everything is properly marked/signpostsed and way to the lake from parking spot is mentioned. For couples/solo/group (with 6+ kids) it's a nice and easy hike to the lake where one can indulge in sound of the nature . The lake is surrounded by green forest and mountain. Note for families with kids: for small kids/infant bring a sturdy stroller that can work on loose gravels/mud. Beware of mosquitoes and natural insects. If you really admire the nature then its worth a visit otherwise families with small kids can skip this place.
