A subpar bakery with items which felt that they were a days old. Unfortunately this review reflects some of the other poorly rated reviews. We ordered three items - the cinnamon bun, a plum jam bun and poppy seed bun. The cinnamon was hard and not particularly flavourful, poppy seed bun was very dense and dough didn't seem fresh and the plum jam bun was overfilled with jam, overpowering the pastry. Perhaps an acquired taste that we weren't used to but quite disapponting given the overall review of this cafe. We also ordered a chai latte which was very sweet and primarily froth (photo attached) as well as a latte which was pretty good. For €17, would suggest visiting other bakeries around the area

We stopped by for lunch, and there was a selection of sandwiches. They tasted okay, they were on the smaller side but it was enough for a light lunch. The coffee, however, was disappointing. The service was not great either, as the staff seemed neither knowledgeable nor motivated.

The thing about this lovely little chain of cafés is that they have proper proper cinnamon buns (called "Schwedische Knote" there). They're like Danish pastries! The real deal. Hard to find that in Vienna, and believe me, I spent the better part of a decade checking around many cafés and chains. Not Mohn, not Nuss but Zimt!

It might not be as stylish and, frankly, not too friendly service, as in some of the Wienna cafes, but it is simple, tasty, and not too expensive. Me and mine ordered coffee, hot chocolate, and 3 different cakes, see photos. All good, €8 per person. Buckweat cake is unusial and interesting in its delicate taste. Don't order it if subtle tones are not for you. Second, strudel, has sweet quark inside, just right, not too sweet. And the third is thin layer of sweet quark, plus little red currants, soft egg wites with crispy broened crust. (Gosh, why they can't make this right in England I don't understand.) Cofee and hot chocolate didn't have fancy patterns on top, but were good too.

Probably the best croissant I have ever had. And that includes bakeries in Paris and New York. Outstanding quality and taste. Very good coffee too.

Brilliant cafe with great coffee and croissants! My wife had toast with pea puree, feta and micro greens which was healthy and delicious. Reasonable prices for the quality.

This is our favorite bakery in Vienna. There are many places to buy delicious bread, but most places are either lack the variety or unreasonably expensive. Felzl is at the sweet spot --- great selection and affordable prices.

Bakery and cafe place close to the central square of Vienna. Α wide selection of croissants, donuts and muffins, but not for the sandwiches.

Bakery prices in Vienna make you realise how valuable baked goods are in 2022. Unless they have always been this expensive here. Quality is a different topic though. Pretzels here at Felzl won't satisfy the true connoisseurs of knotted delights, which are better had in Germany. It was chewy and lacked Lauge. The signature Kugelhupf cake was underwhelming and is not worth a detour. Overall Felzl has the feeling of a chain bakery.

I had a topfentascherl and a cinnamon bun. They both tasted great! The ambience was cozy and chill.

A very nice breakfast spot in the central Wien with lots of options of sweet and salty food. This bakery has cool sandwiches as well as nice croissants and other baked stuff:) Also the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice. Recommended for a budget-friendly and tasty breakfast!

Like this place, especialy their French brioche and Swedish knoten. Their pastries are tasty and not too sweet. Also they have a wide selection of breads. Last Christmas their Ginger house to build yourself and Dinkel-Stollen (again not too sweet) were great souvenirs for friends and family

Espresso was good. The mandelcroissant was excellent. As was a cookie we tried (not sure of the name). Enjoyed it enough to return in the afternoon to purchase croissants for our early morning train the next day. Everything tasted fresh and not too sweet. The staff was helpful and spoke English. Highly recommend.

Croissants, Pains au chocolat, Marzipancroissants, ... all taste like in France. Among the quality bakeries in Vienna, this one has the most reasonable prices.

Loved this little 'hole-in-the-wall' bakery with its super friendly service. It was a joy watching and listening to the service staff behind the counter. Only downside was the cold that would sweep the inside of the place every time (and it was constant) somebody walked in or out of the place. But otherwise, I highly recommend it.

  • 5/5 Michael H. 10 months ago on Google
The bomb. These guys know their pastries and coffee. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to eat here. Staff was amazing. Go. They tend to sell out of the best stuff over the course of the day so go early if possible. Rolls were average, so we recommend sticking with pastries.
