Was in York last weekend and I had read about this place and all the good reports were true, we liked it so much we ate here on Saturday and Sunday brunch. The eggs were poached perfectly and the bread used was really tasty. We ate in the marquee at the back of the place and this was perfectly adequate and had heating if needed. The staff were particularly friendly and the service was really good even though we had a wait but this was due to volume of customers. I noted that there were quite a few regulars so return business is a good sign in any place. Really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and will recommend it to our friends that may visit from Manchester like we did.

Came here for brunch at around 10:30 midweek and this place was really busy; full inside and in the courtyard, but tables were available in a marquee out back. Despite this slightly distanced location, service was excellent and very friendly. Great menu options and the food quality was also excellent, and clearly freshly prepared. Would definitely recommend and will return.

My best friend brought me to Partisan today, she goes quite a lot and always has a great experience. This is my first time here and it was absolutely wonderful, my friend had booked in which was good as it was very busy. The Menu had lots of options for Vegetarians and Vegans which was amazing as between the five of us we all had a lot of different allergies or dietaries. I ordered the Vegetarian Breakfast, I swapped the baked beans for extra toast which was no problem for them at all. Everything was delicious! My meal consisted of two fried eggs, two pieces of sourdough toast, mushrooms, tomatoes on the vine, avocado, feta, potato wedges and tempah and it was so lovely! You could tell it was all fresh and made with care. All five of us really enjoyed our meal and it really set us up for the day ahead in York. I would love to try the French Toast option next time and some of the cakes which looked gorgeous! There are two toilets, one Female and one Male. The Female Toilets (as I can't remark on the Males) were very clean and spacious. Would definitely visit again on my next visit to York!

Beautiful little bakery cafe a stones throw from the gate we entered the city from (7 mins from train station). Bigger on the inside than expected with additional heated seating out the back. Incredible, ever changing selection of baked goods at good prices (£4-5 each) as well as a satisfying brunch menu. Would recommend.

Dog-friendly cafe! We had a great experience with the food - it was delicious, and the portion sizes were perfect. The staff were also friendly and accommodating to our needs, which was great. We appreciate their deaf awareness and would definitely recommend this place. They do really lovely brunch!

Absolutely amazing. Fantastic coffee! Wasn’t sure about the Persian Eggs being scrambled but they were epically good - perfect mix of spice, heat and sweetness - and just the right amount. Wish I lived here and could go back every month! Chilled, but lovely, atmosphere. Staff were all so nice! :)

Sometimes, looks are definitely deceptive. When walking past Partisan, it didn't look all that appealing. It was plain curiosity about the queue outside that drew us in, only to discover what a fantastic place this is. A brilliant range of food to cater for every taste. All served by very welcoming and friendly staff. We had brunch here for two days running, and the only disappointment was that we weren't staying in York for longer.

Amazing food and people! We ordered the eggs Benedict and the eggs royale with a slice of focaccia and it was excellent!! The owners came to our table and they were really nice! Definitely worth going if you are in York!

It was recommended to me by one of the concierge team (Ian) at the Grand in York. First time staying over in York, I had no idea where was good for breakfasts so Ian mentioned for my friend and I to try a place called Partisan. Only a short walk from the hotel, it’s situated on Micklegate. The outside reminded me of a small Parisian cafe, very rustic and quirky looking, which I loved. Busy on the ground floor but we were told of seating in the basement. Although the stairs aren’t steep heading down, definitely take care if you’re not good on your legs. Lovely ambience in this place, staff were attentive but not overly (👌🏻). After choosing our food, we didn’t have long to wait for it to arrive. Piping hot breakfast cooked in a skillet. I loved the taste of the food and would’ve had more if I could. Good selection of choices to choose from and food was nicely prepared and well cooked. We were served by Ellis (at least it sounded like her name), great attitude and really fun and chatty with us. Great customer service 👌🏻👌🏻 Would I recommend this place to others? Yes, in a heartbeat. Will definitely be going back again on my next visit.

Great menu with some unusual options and new things to try. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. We were outside in the marquee at the back but the heating was really good so we were fine even on a chilly day.

This is a real find. Great experience with fantastic food and friendly service. The cafe is very small and unassuming. It opens up at the back with a large seating area that has an intimate feeling. The food is excellent here. Really well done with great flavours. The cakes, cookies and other sweet things on offer are amazing. Highly recommend if in the area.

My boyfriend and I have such an amazing time in Partisan! The staffs are extremely accommodating and friendly. Even when we're waiting outside, they kept on tabs with us making sure they're preparing a table for us two ❤️ The food we had was absolutely amazing, one of the best things we ever have during our trip in York! Highly recommend dropping by but do note you can reserve to avoid waiting time!

Came to this restaurant on our last day in York got brunch and wished we have came earlier so we could try out their lunch and dinner menu! We’ve ordered the French toast and eggs on toast. We obviously have to order their fabulous cake 🤤 Highly recommend no matter if you are local or tourists like us.

Find out about this place via google search "best breakfast in York" & was not disappointed! On a busy Saturday morning staff welcomed us in without a reservation and quickly got us our hot drinks. The food is incredible, affordable & just what you need to get you started with the day! ... Later we came back to try their selling pastries - brownie and maple danish were delicious too☺️

Nice cafe especially for breakfast with many international and Brit options. The ingredients are quite fresh (you can actually taste it). I ordered Huevoz and flat white for breakfast. All the foods are so good that i have to come back again before leaving York during my short stay here

Lovely spot with great quality food. Plenty special diet needs accommodated. Service always great and prompt considering the marquee extension with at least another 50 covers. Poached eggs cooked perfectly and obviously very fresh due to vivid colour of the yolks. Nice crispy smoked bacon and fab tasting coffee. Atmosphere great, airy and bright out in the marquee

Fantastic little spot and worth waiting for the line to get in. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection, my friend is Celiac and dairy free and you can tell the kitchen took extra care with the allergies. Our server Jo was helpful and attentive. Fantastic spot to try if you're in York.

We had a great experience at Partisan, lovely staff including Milly, Daniel and Florencia. The speed of service was great despite how busy the cafe was. The quality of the food surpassed our expectations, it was fresh with plenty of flavours and served hot.

Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Ordered shakshuka, zaatar scone with chutney and salmon on toast and everything was delicious! The scone had a kick to it which made it even better! Food quality is exceptional! Prices are fair especially for the portion you get! Everything was fresh especially the shakshuka was piping hot. I will definitely visit again if I’m in York.

Very decent cafe with amazing food! The ingredients are really fresh and high quality. All the dishes are full of flavour as well - would definitely come back if we visit York again. Only thing is waiting time - think we waited for around 50mins for our food during lunch time which can be a little too long but probably due to how busy the cafe was. Recommend book table before visit.
