Unique Space Designs There are good points at Restaurant Space Design. I love it. Banh Mi is the Unique Selling Point in this Restaurant. It's taste good but the Serving time is quite slow. 🦥 It's take 5-7 minutes waiting from Ordering untill Delivering. While The food vendor takes 1 -3 minutes. I will give 5⭐ rating if they could offered the faster services.

Just because of good rating i come here but the staff cheated me . When i come here i spoke to the receptionist that i m not sure if i will stay for 2 night. She told me even if you stay for 1 night we will refund you the money for 1 night. So i paid for 2 night in advance and not this people are telling me they can't give me money back for 1 night. Such bad hostel i have never encountered. Please people don't go on rating . Most of.this rating are fake. I m attaching the photo of the person who refused to pay me back for 1 night.

For a shared and mixed accommodation, Grandma Lu is an excellent place to stay in Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon). Centrally located, within 15-25 minutes walk from 23/9 park and Bus Station (including airport Bus 109). 5 minutes walk, you will reach one of Saigon night districts where street stage dancers can be seen almost along the street. At the ground floor, there is a coffee and sandwich shop integrated with the receptionist table. To me, the hot coffee latte is one of the best in Saigon. Likewise the sandwich with French baqquette. It is delicious, warm, and fresh. My favourite is vegetarian sausages. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The rooms are nice, air-conditioned, clean, with magnetic lock. The bed is comfortable, hard nor soft. There is a common area and toilet on the ground floor, where the receptionist is. It is equipped with enough power outlets. The downsides are; 1. Slow internet connection, and 2. The shower in the men's wash room needs fixing as the water pressure is weak. I would highly recommend anyone, budget friendly or not, to stay with Grandma Lu.

I love books, especially old and cheap ones.. simply because I have a fear of paying high price for a poorly written book. This place has many many books (a bit overwhelming to go thru each one). Staffs are nice and courteous. Bánh mì was surprisingly delicious and their drinks were good. The place is nice, cleaned and very charming with reminiscent of Hội An. The loud chatters in “coffee room” brought the discovery of “resident dorms” on upper floors. I was pleasantly surprised, as I have never been inside a “hostel” or anything like this. AC was on, the beds and bathrooms are cozy, modern, nice and cleaned as well. Definitely an ideal place to hang out and read all day. I’ll be back!!!

This place is allegedly famous for the banh mi, so I thought I would give a try. If you ask me, I didn’t see anything special about it. The Sandwich was a bit dry, but luckily the bread was crunchy. I thought there would be a fried or scrambled egg. Instead it was with hard oil quail egg yolk.

First of, the staff is great. They’re very helpful and polite. It pains me to give them 2 stars but I was there for banh mi is just not good at all. My least favourite in HCMC. It was bland and lacks the toppings like pickled veggies, pate and even soy sauce. I was very disappointed since this place had such a high rating. Ultimately it’s the food for me and even though the service was great, I don’t recommend coming here for banh mi. There’s just too many places that does it better.

The shop serves really great Banh Mi. I loved their new created coconut coffee, taste was perfect for non-sweet lover like me as coffees in Vietnam was mostly super sweet but their coconut coffee are just nice. Service from the counter was also good and fast enough to serves. Worth for a good review!

The place is adorable. Aesthetically 10/10. I have a bed in the mixed hostel dorm. Beds are so comfortable and clean. The staff are helpful and accommodating, they help out with anything you want. Bathrooms are spotless. This is amazing. Loving it so far.

we love Grandma Lu's Bahn Mi's. They have several to choose from, even a mini bahn mi. Plus, they have vegetarian options and the portion size is very large for the price you pay. My husband is very finicky when it comes to eating street food, and this establishment is very clean, fresh and we know when we eat here we will have delicious food that won't upset our tummies. Thank you for being so close to our apartment in district 1 and being so nice to serve us. You guys rock!!!

Absolutely delicious and worth the higher price! Best thing is they heat up the banh mi so it’s not only crusty but also warm and brings out the aromas!

Just saw a post about this place a couple hours ago, so went to give it a try, as it's down my street. I'm not the biggest fan of Banh Mi's, but this is easily the best 30k Banh Mi I've ever had! And that's their most expensive signature dish, the Grandma Lu's! At first, it really just look like any other banh mi's. Bread and ingredients look the same as what you would find in the streets. The execution is great! Every bite feels full of love! I've had banh mi's that weren't as good but 3 times the price. Their tangerine ice tea is really nice too! They just opened the dine-in 3 days ago. Oh, and the people are very sweet! They deserve some love today!

The hostel is located in a very good position, very close to bui vien walking street. The area is quiet and I felt safe at all times. The hostel is very nice and there are a lot of services included

I like the bánh mì from the Shop. But the staff service & skill so slow and lousy. On morning time , whenever I reach the shop, normally have 3-4 staff. Sometime . At that moment . It just only me . They take around 15 mins to finish a Banh mi. Some staff just stand like zoombie.

1 of the most beautiful dorms ever. Staff r vy helpful and english is gld. too bad some dormmate lack social equitte. Playing video without earpiece late at night or in the morning.

I changed hostels after one night here. None of the men's showers worked. The balcony door didn't close so I heard the traffic loudly. In the morning, they put loud on music in the bathrooms, making sleeping impossible. Upon telling this to the staff, both in person and through Booking, I got a "Sorry for the inconvenience", no apology nor refund.

Cheap and good place. Agoda offers less than $5/night. Don't expect much with that price. The room is ok, not dirty. The toilet is clean. Banh Mi downstairs is authentic. Highly recommend.

The new way to enjoy Banh Mi and drink, also new place if you need a space to work on your own. Staff is super friendly, young and well taking care for customers. Eco friendly packing as well. Come and try on your own.

Best Bánh mì in Sài Gòn! Delicious sauce, crispy fresh bread and LOTS of tasty meat and sauce. I would recommend their signature bánh mì "Grandma Lũ" and add cheese. Staff are very friendly and can all speak excellent English too for any foreigners looking for a top quality bánh mì! Thanks 😊

I ordered their Grandma Lu bahn mi and it was amazing. Pork floss, meat, and the veggies were a great combo. I also had the milky coffee and it was served in this tiny jar. They'll give you a cup of ice to pour into. The coffee's strong and rich in flavor. Even with the ice, it did not lessen the flavor or richness at all. Such a great experience 🎉

First time to try the authentic banh mi in Vietnam and it never disappoint. So glad to have this first time experience of real banh mi in this restaurant. The ambience is welcoming and authentic at the same time. When you visit HCMC, make sure not to miss this gem.

Stopped here for a bathroom break and a cold coffee. Grandma Lu coffee is delicious! Quaint little place with only a few spots to sit. Fans for air movement so it’s cooler.

First of all, great place. Go for it. Pros 1. Good cafe 2. Good location 3. Beautiful rooms and clean beds 4. Free coffee with Banh Mi. 5. Staff is very polite and friendly and LuLu is beautiful :) Cons 1. Rooms need to smell better but I have observed that they make effort to do so. 2. Taste and quantity of food, especially coffee needs to be consistent 3. Bathrooms are clean but could be more clean. I understand its tough to make this work though. 4. Internet is slow some times

The banh mi was very fresh (bread and the filling). Also, they have the cutest staff to help us. We also stayed in hostel and it was a good experience with all the amenities. The rooms and toilets were pretty clean.

Banh mi not worthy of pricing vs Huyen Hoa (39k vs 45k), from size, material, source, vegetable. in store space is not good to stay. Location is not easy to access. Drink is expensive

Maybe not the most traditional bánh mì, but for my taste the best one. The flavor of the different vegetables an beef came perfect together. Would definitely recommend.

Didn’t stay in the hostel, only had lunch. Banh mi was OK, had better ones. Ordered chicken&egg but got chicken & sausage. Staffs speaks almost no English

  • 1/5 Jennifer B. 7 months ago on Google • 1 review
It was ok. The rooms were clean, but my dorm had a door to an outside balcony that did not close so it was incredibly loud. In addition there is no place outside dorm to hang out. So if you have to go out to do anything, even just to find somewhere to sit and relax. The bathrooms were clean, beds comfortable. Don’t go here to meet people or make friends.
