Small hostel that could quite easily pass for a 4 star hotel, in the Beverley Hills are of Halong Bay. The room was beautiful and impeccably clean. The bathroom was spacious and had a lovely hot shower and the large smart TV had Netflix built in which was very useful and the view from the balcony was also extremely pleasant, the only thing that wasn’t great was the included breakfast, but otherwise this place is fantastic and we would certainly stay there again.

Me and my partner were shocked by incredible quality of this hostel. To the point it should not be a hostel, its a hotel through and through. The room quality including the quality of the bed is behond what you would expect from a place so cheap and affordable. All the furniture and fittings in our room were top quality and the use of a smart TV was fantastic. The location is perfect for the newer developed part of Hàlong. The staff are exceptional, especially Jen. She helped us out with so many things from laundry, transportation to booking our bay tour. If there was a 10 star option for Jen she would get it. This is an opportunity you don't want to miss, the BBQ Hostel adds to wonders of Halong Bay.

You get an extremely good hostel for the price. It is actually more of a hotel and therefore not a place where you will meet tons of other travelers. Very high standard. The staff is extremely friendly and helps you in every situation. We were able to book a beautiful ha long bay tour via the hostel. Though there were a few minor downsides. We could not pay by card. Therefore be prepared to bring bigger amounts of cash especially when also booking tours via the hostel. The neighborhood is quite strange and is called „Beverly hills“. It really looks like Beverly Hills: there are big villas and hotels everywhere but you don’t see many people. So it feels very artificial. There is not much to discover around the hostel and the walking distances are big in ha long city - you would actually need a scooter which is also offered by the hostel. There is no drinking water to refill your bottles. So you have to buy water at the hostel. If you want to go to cat ba island it only makes sense to go there when you have accommodation on the island because currently there is only a ferry departuring at 11 am.

Clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. Even taught me how to ride a scooter. 12/10

We loved our stay here. Bed are great. Smart TV so you could have a lazy day watching movies. And the weather was great. The Host was super helpful and friendly, she recommended me good vietnamese music and also make great breakfast my fav in Vietnam. If you book, you're gonna love it.

Amazing hotel in every aspect. The location and area is very beautiful and elegant, but there aren’t shops, restaurants, cafes around. You would need to head every day to the main area but it’s like 20 minutes walk.

Very nice room. A little remote and many places local are unfinished and basically a building site. Very quiet though. Good views across the bay. The young girl working was on her own to do reception and even all the cooking. She did a fine job.

My friend and I were meeting a couple of our other friends at the BBQ Hostel to spend a couple of days in Halong Bay. The entire staff was nothing short of exceptional (particularly Jane). They were extremely accommodative and helpful from the moment we arrived to the moment we left for the airport.

Our stay was wonderful. The hostel manager, Jane, was friendly and helpful in getting us taxis and letting us know where to find good food and markets. Would recommend staying here to other travelers!

Had the most amazing trip thanks to Jane. She organized transportation for us, multiple cruises in Ha Long and Cat Bat. She helped us with laundry, breakfast, currency exchange, renting scooters, EVERYTHING! The rooms were very spacious and perfectly clean. Comfy beds and blankets. Mini fridge with different drinks and snacks. A tv you can hook your laptop up to via hdmi. Couldn’t rave about this hotel more!!! Great view on the top floor where breakfast is. This hostel/hotel feels brand new and it’s super nice. The bathroom and shower are amazing, the beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious and you even get a large flat TV. They provide towels free of charge and the staff is super helpful when it comes to booking buses, cruises, renting a motorbike, etc. It’s located a little out of town but it’s close enough to talk to restaurants, stores and the market. The wifi is really strong, which I needed as I was working some days during my stay. The reason why I’m not giving this 5 stars is because the breakfast is just okay, there aren’t any options. All you get is 2 slices of bread, 1 egg, 4 little slices of banana and 4 slices of cucumber. If you want coffee, water or tea you even have to ask for it. Nothing can be changed or added. I guess for the price you pay this is all what you get. The other small negative is that your room doesn’t get cleaned during your stay. I had a private room and never got other towels, the trash accumulated a lot and I even ran out of toilet paper. Again something else’s that reflects the price most likely. Overall is a good place to stay and I would stay here again.

Hands down one of the best places to stay in Ha Long bay. The Hostel is very neat and clean. The Hostel staffs are very welcoming and they arranged me a shuttle from Hanoi even if it was late in the night. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a stay in Ha long bay.

Food: The hostel is breakfast included which is nothing fancy but enough to fill you up and very yummy. She can also cook other meals for you and they are apparently all delicious. Dorms: We stayed in a 10 person dorm, and it was pretty comfy. The beds aren't too bad and you get given a quilt cover and a towel. The shower is pretty sweet too. It's in a pretty remote location surrounded by a lot of construction but there's an infinity pool you can pay to use and there's some little food places not too far away. Plus a grab to and from the main strip is only like $2 anyway 😊

Coming to Halong City but miss the BBQ hostel HaLong 2 is just as same as the defeciency that you come to Hanoi but miss the Old Quater. What I meant is that you should definitely come here and enjoy this such amazing hostel service. Located in such a typical place which is only 1 kilometres far from the International harbour (that is surprisingly convenient for going on a tour), the Sun World HaLong complex and park. Above all, to me, the most important thing when I give comments to a place is the people or the staff there. And in BBQ hostel Halong 2, staff are incredibly courteous, helpful and friendly. They help their guests to arrange everything from the smallest service like breakfast to a more important one like a tour to visit Halong Bay. They even care about your diet which means I don't have to worry about my breakfast even when I'm a vegan. Besides, if you are a foreigner, you still don't have to worry because staff here can communicate in English very well. Another thing worth mentioning might be the scenery. Omg, I fell in love with the view right from the day I check in. The hostel has a sea view which is hard to find in a city I think. It makes me feel refreshing and very comfortable. By the way speaking of the hostel, it has such a gorgeous decor, the furniture is no less modern and luxurious than any 5 stars hotels I've ever been.
