Expensive and substandard. We ordered clams, they were fresh but the sauce was a bit tasteless and weird. The turbot fish at the recommendation of the restaurant had more bones than fish meat. At 26 euros for that dish I do expect a nice piece of filet w some tasty sauce. But they just chopped it up w side fin and center bones and little meat. It came w out of bottle mayo. I am sorry I don't understand how this can be the best seafood in VIgo? Don't they all have fresh fish from the port across the street? I left very dissatisfied.

The service is fast an good menu is very good, as for the taste not so exciting. I'm not so sure if i will revisit. Definitely is historic place as established so many years back.

We enjoyed a seafood dinner typical of Vigo, well prepared and presented. The appetizers were very good, as were the deserts.

Can't say enough about this place. The history alone marks it as a must experience. Was there with a group of wine buyers on a buying trip through Spain and it was the perfect first night to our trip.

Bland, over salted food. Octopus zero flavor. Clams no presentation. Nice staff and atmosphere but my god way overpriced for the third-rate meal. We left and had paella at a bar for 1/8 the price and 8/10 more flavor.

Gifty and I dined there for lunch today. This was a very nice experience. I will say a very a near perfect 360 degree experience. Appetizers were lovely including a Galation cheese selection. I chose the sirloin which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Meat quality was superior. Gifty chose lobster as her main served with a “dippy” egg and chips. Lobster was delightful. The deserts were wonderful as well The service was impeccable. We will definitely visit on our next visit and highly recommend this establishment Thank you for the delight!

The mussels and clams had sand and grit in them .. the scallops were actually mussels and had sand in them .. the “scallops” were so bad our friend wrapped them in a napkin and threw them out .. the menu listed the sole as 32-36 and we were charged 70 euro .. our waiter who we had spoke Spanish Portuguese and English went to rapid Spanish with no explanation .. this was recommended by Eurostar vigo hotel and the first time I felt like I was tourist trapped In my three years of living in Europe this was the worst meal I’ve had

The restaurant is nice with friendly and professional service. The food was good as well. We received some nice starters, and had some good albariño to go with everything. The reason I would give El Mosquito four stars instead of five is because for the price that we paid, I expected something more. We had better food for a better price in Vigo and area.

Great food, good service, friendly owners and staff, and an ideal place to enjoy quality traditional Galician cuisine. Historical, family-run location with a well-deserved top reputation.

Went to this restaurant cause I read good reviews on TripAdvisor. Got that around 20h30 alone, had dinner alone and left alone.... The restaurant was empty. Maybe locals go out for dinner later than 22h00? Not sure. The food was good. The starter and the dessert were the best in my opinion (they know how a fondant has to be done and it was really good). It is hard to give a proper opinion about this place... It is cozy, the staff is nice, etc. But the price! Hmmm is hard. Seafood has to be fresh, otherwise the risk of poisoning is high... Which high means high cost for them to keep the food fresh... But.... The price... Well I don't know. I think it was good regardless the price being way above the average on the same area. If you like seafood and you don't care about the price... Try this one. Note: it is a good idea to eat/Have something before dinner ;) on this place.

The atmosphere feels more like a family home than a restaurant. The service was excellent. The mussels, lobster ravioli and the sea bass carpaccio starters were delicious. The grilled octopus was great, however I did not care for the custard like mashed potatoes it was served on top of. Overall great meal would return.

Excellent. A different take on the use of locally sourced food. Lovely knowledgable staff. A fair price.

😠 Muy mal servicio, encontre un insecto en mi comida y la camarera cuando se lo dige cogio un cuchillo y arrasto el insecto por todo el plato sin pedir disculpas ni traer un plato nuevo y limpio. Esperando que lo comiera. Scandalous how I ordered a pancake and I got it with a bug in the fruits, when...
