Overall
we
expected
more
from
the
reviews
online.
Within
minutes
of
arriving
(8:30
pm,
not
busy)
and
we
spoke
in
Spanish
about
our
reservation,
we
were
ushered
to
a
table
on
the
bottom
floor
and
asked
if
we
want
an
English
menu.
Sure,
thank
you.
When
the
waiter
came
back
we
asked
about
the
tasting
menu
and
he
was
surprised
and
questioned
us.
I
wondered
if
it
was
only
available
upstairs
but
he
said
no,
also
downstairs
and
he
brought
the
menu
and
read
us
his
brief
translation
of
the
dishes
quite
quickly.
I
asked
to
view
the
menu
so
I
could
read
them.
(We
have
managed
hundreds
of
times
without
English
menus
in
many
years
traveling
in
Spain.)
He
hesitated
to
give
it
to
me—very
strange.
My
husband
and
I
began
looking
at
the
Spanish
menu
and
I
noticed
it
had
several
more
a
la
carte
items.
Everyone
else
seated
(getting
busy)
had
Spanish
menus.
I
asked
why
they
were
different
and
he
said
they
are
exactly
the
same
and
I
pointed
out
the
differences,
which
he
then
said
the
Spanish
menu
is
outdated
and
the
English
menu
is
correct.
Ridiculous!
There
was
never
a
point
he
was
warm,
welcoming,
smiling
from
the
moment
he
shoved
the
English
menus
at
us
as
we
sat
down.
We
ordered,
he
brought
the
wine
and
did
not
present
it
nor
have
either
of
us
taste
it
before
pouring
an
inch
in
each
glass
and
turning
away.
He
never
returned,
which
was
better
for
us.
As
for
the
food,
it
was
good
but
not
fabulous.
The
foie
sandwich
was
fine,
interesting
but
not
great.
The
mussels
with
algae
were
interesting
and
the
most
unique
dish
as
it
combined
briney
mussels
with
olive
oil
and
mild
kelp-like
algae.
The
clams
in
pan
were
good
but
nothing
unique—very
typical.
The
lamb
shoulder
was
excellent
and
had
a
lot
of
meat
but
rather
traditional
in
preparation.
The
chocolate
coulant
was
delicious
but
not
unique
(the
ice
cream
was
average/not
creamy).
During
the
meal
we
got
over
the
initial
snub
by
the
waiter
and
enjoyed
the
meal
(and
the
female
waitress
was
much
more
pleasant.)
Would
not
return
and
I’m
sure
they
don’t
care
as
we
were
just
passing
through
town.
