Neat and the tiffins are quality n tasty .

I have ordered Puri and onion dosa which are stale and worst to taste but the bill amount they charge is premium and service is poor and not satisfactory.

Centrally located decent place to stay in Vijayawada. Stayed for a night in this hotel. Rooms are just ok and needs repair on an urgent basis. The TV in the room is of old model. Toilets were clean. Room rates are not costly . Did not eat in restaurant of this hotel so cannot comment on it . If your travelling solo then this hotel can be booked for staying but for families i think it's not suitable. For travel/food pictures and information plz follow my insta account. Actually it is just awesome bef carona but no such type of things are looking over there. Costs are very heavy and quality is very poor. It's complete disaster I just never expected this type of food from them

It's a very good hotel in the besant road market area. Good food at reasonable prices and the restaurant is neat and clean.

Used to go along with my grandfather back in the old days.. it was really good. Today visited with the same impression but the experience is horrible. Rice quality is worst, road side carts are far better in terms of taste and quality. Playing cheap tricks to save money.. not giving enough Rice, not giving ice cream, not giving banana, switching of the air condtion. And directly instructing the servers, not to respond on time. A very bitter experience, not sure why he got 4 rating. May be some paid promotion. And the person at the counter is not really bothered what is happening inside the kitchen or at the tables. His job is just count the bills and giving wrong directions to the staff. Earning money I would say looting money from hungry people is not a good business, in a country like India Food is a kind of God and the person who servers and is treated as Annadata .. though they take money. Hope you understand the kind of experience we faced in this so called MODERN CAFE.. few things we can not express in words. Share your experiences if you have any.. hope that will be a positive one. Today's my bitter experience ruined one of childhood memories OF BESANT ROAD shopping.

Decent accommodation and not pricey! Food is good! Breakfast lunch and dinner you can get here.Centrally located and all markets nearby.

Food was served cold, average taste. Overrated restaurant. I would never go again to this restaurant. Toilets are horrible!

Excellent food Excellent service.. All veg items are super... First choice for veg lovers.. Fruit + ice cream with meals.. For 2 kids 1 baby meals charged.. Thanks to Management...

It was really a life saver as we were struggling to find a veg restaurant in that area and all we could find was one where only unlimited meals were available. Felt very happy when we found this place and the food was tasty.

Ordered special meals through swiggy, very bad taste, no papad, no sweet, hot water like sambar, curry with bad smell, we can not expect this food from modern cafe

Big rooms with AC n non AC. I love this Restaurant. Especially idly, poori, masala dosa. Veg dum biryani, jra rice, falooda too.

Yesterday gave 4🌟 for its Food. Today I am giving 1 (which not worth ) for its service and the behaviour of the staff. Kept waiting 45 mts for Coffee ultimately not served. Useless place to visit. Not only me the people who were sitting all felt the same.

The Samosa chat and Paneer paav baji is of super taste.Try it once in the evening you will enjoy it

Very limited options in the evening times after 08.30 PM. They served rotten chutney with tiffins.

When we entered, we felt the cashier was somewhat unwelcoming when we asked for some doubts. This may have been because he was already attending to someone. The place has got a charm, no doubt and a vintage feel to it. The dosai was excellent though the chutney and sambar were just so-so. Chutney too bland and sambar too watery. Poori potato was bang on. So food is good but not great. The waiter was smiling and very cordial though.

Very good place for South Indian tiffin, very tasty, the same old taste even better after 18 years.

One of the oldest cafe in vijayawada which serves traditional food

1) First time visted Modern cafe 40 years back for Vegetarian Lunch. Quality was Excellent at that time. Subsequently visited many times for morning and evening snacks . Same Quality is maintained now also. Again visited on evening of 18-12-2021. 2) Ordered Tea with out Sugar. 3) Quality of Tea is Excellent. 4) On can get 100% Vegetarian food here. 5) Value for Money. 6) One can get South Indian Lunch and Dinner here. Price of Lunch OR Dinner is reasonable and comparable with similar hotels near by. 7) Strongly recommend Modern cafe for pure Vegetarian lovers.

Taste okay prices little bit high but hygene was very poor. Earlier they served in stainless-steel plates and bowls. Now they have replaced with non food grade poor quality melamine plastic ware for serving items which is not acceptable. That they were not properly cleaned. Try to convert again traditional stainless-steel plates and bowls with hygene.

It's old and famous hotel. Also very good cleaning and safty finally vety good taste. Price was higher competitive to the market

Very old restaurant remodeled a few years back. Quality improvement is not considerable. Maintains some standard.

Dosa and puri was good. Otherwise vada was half cooked. Sambar taste was not good. I don't recommend this place for breakfast

Ordered tiffin and fried rice with veg kadai. Chutney salty, veg kadai curry full of onions only.. not up to the mark in taste. Average.

This is a pretty old cafe in Vijayawada and serves good food. The cafe has non-AC and AC sections. Though a bit old, the maintenance of the cafe is pretty decent. They serve a variety of cuisines, ranging from south Indian to north Indian to Chinese. The food is good and the service is excellent. The waiters are polite and friendly. Overall value for money stuff. If you're near the central shopping area of Vijayawada and feel like having a quick bite or hearty meal, this is a good place for you!!

Best Vegetarian restaurant in Besant Road, whenever our family goes to shop there, we make it a norm to eat here. The taste is first class, but you'll have to compromise on the quality of the restaurant a little bit, it isn't dirty, but has an old feel to it. But for the taste, you can compromise.

I know this place right from my Childhood days. I used to have food here on our frequent trips to Vijayawada with my parents. Now Food quality is good but taste has changed from the past.

Modern cafe is a nice restaurant. Tiffins meals are available. It consists of both Ac and Non Ac to dine in breakfast and lunch Dinner. It also serves Ice cream and juices. Tea and coffe are good. In breakfast Idli Dosa Poori are delicious which are served with sambar, ginger chutney, coconut chutney. Poori is served with aloo poori curry on banana leaf. Paneer dosa is cost effective but delicious.

Quality of food is literally worst.. 5 star hotel prices and providing food like a road side degraded one

A decent hotel in this area. Huge place with retro flooring, with an open live kitchen. The food was served at the table. I took a poori expecting a proper poori curry. However they gave the same curry made with aloo that they put in masala dosa which i was not at all expecting that too in Vijayawada which is famous for their food. The placement of wash basins and it's maintenance was not good. The whole dining experience is ruined once you go there to wash your hands. I had to cross a puddle of water and then the stinking smell at the wash basins. If they can fix, make some changes to that area then yes it would give more good experience to people like me.

The South Indian Tiffins are Great and I love them personally but the North Indian items weren't made that perfectly as South ones and the prices of the items are not bank to buck
