Very nice and powerful temple which is located on Indrakeeladri hill top. There is free chappal stand and we can also keep luggage in counter for Rs. 5 and go for darshan. They are allowing cell phones and hand bags. We can take free darshan or can buy Rs. 100, Rs. 300 or Rs. 500 for fast darshan. We took darshan on Saturday night and on Sunday early morning, there was no queue, darshan completed in 10 minutes. There was a 7 floor building where lift is available to go to hill top. We can climb steps of building or climb steps of hill or can go by lift to reach temple. Lift is free for everyone, but some staff are rude and asking to buy 100 or 300 ticket to use lift, but we asked in counter, they said we can go by lift without ticket also. After going up by lift, there were seperate queue lines for free, Rs. 100 and Rs. 300. People who buyed Rs. 500 ticket are allowed to go inside the raja gopura. They are selling saree worn by durga maa and the starting cost is Rs. 3000/- for saree, and there were upto Rs. 10,000/- sarees. They are selling prasad down hill only like pulihhora, laddu, chakkara pongali etc.

The main deity in the temple is goddess Kanakadurga devi. Considered extremely scared and powerful. This is a very famous temple and hence gets crowded hugely during festive seasons. No mobile phones and bags strictly in the temple premises. Parking could become an issue.

This is very ancient and most beautiful temple, as per history cellestial gods were thinking about earth how to develop and then goddess durga devi appeared and settled on the mountain and made this place green and filthy with resources and people. Most powerful temple and very powerful god it is located in vijayawada, krishna district of andhrapradesh.this astounding architecture is built in Dravidian fashion.the temple is surrounded by the hills of indrakeeladri right along the bank's of krishna river. The temple finds mention in many scared texts and vedic literature. As well as it is a reversed temple, among devotees and followers. Nice place to visit. 1. All the items you buy are high selling price than M.R.P rates. 2. Seperate ways to go to temple. Ghat road and steps to go by walk. 3. Seperate lines for dharshanam. 4. Free food for all devotees. 5. Officially phones and camers were not allowed but most them carry secretly. Good thing about this place is everything is maintained very good

It's a good and nice place for devotion. People come from all around to offer their prayers here. It's just 2km from the railway station and management is ok. You have to keep your mobile, bags etc down and you have to go to the hill. Lifts are available for devotees and you can walk 1 min from the 7th floor to reach there. People also walk and go up. Parking and transport is available around 500m from the entrance and it's situated in a very busy area. Overall a great and nice experience.

One inportant thing in free Annadanam Q line there are taking biomatric means (thumb impresion) Definition of biometrics 1 : biometry. 2 : the measurement and analysis of unique physical or behavioral characteristics (such as fingerprint or voice patterns) especially as a means of verifying personal identity. Why they are taking this? What purpose taking this.? I asked that securities he said ask temple comiti. 🤔

Divine feeling seeing godess. Not too much rush. 3 kind of darshan available. Free, 100 and 300 rupees darshan. There is lift facility available but lift can be used only if you buy 100 or 300 rupees ticket. This is not acceptable. Cell phones are not allowed to temple and you have to deposit in the counter outside and they charge 5 rupees. Personal vehicles are not allowed up stairs. So either walk or buy 100/300 ticket and go up by stairs

The entry has a restriction for mobiles which need to be deposited at the mobile bank like centre... payable..rent of 10 odd RS per mobile. Beautiful temple must visit if in Vijayawada. Better to avoid during festivals especially Dasara/Durga pooja months.. We took a special ticket at the counter and our darshan was slightly faster than the general crowd. Got to climb 7 floors to reach the temple, the steps are not very steep. Though they have lift facility, lift is not operational all the time. Travelling with elders may be tough if they are unable to climb stairs..

The popular legend is about the triumph of Kanaka Durga over the demon King Mahishasura. It is said that the growing menace of demons became unbearable for the natives. Sage Indrakila practiced severe penance, and when the goddess appeared the sage pleaded to her to reside on his head and keep a vigil on the wicked demons. As per his wishes of killing the demons, Durga made Indrakila her permanent abode. Later, she also slayed the demon king Mahishasura freeing the people of Vijayawada from evil.It is mentioned in the Hindu scriptures that the deity in the Sri Kanaka Durgamma Devasthanam is regarded as Swayambhu or self-manifested, hence considered very powerful.During the month of Sraavanam, Varalakshmi Vratam is performed on all Fridays with special reverence. More than 20,000 people attends the celebrations during this month.

This temple is the major attraction in the vijaywada or bejawada area. This is one of the best tourist spot in the andhrapradesh state where there is no proper development in the tourism sector. After reaching to the pandit nehru bus station you have various options to reach the temple among them the best option was taking the devasthanam bus to the top of the hill through ghat road or you can reach the temple by steps also. All in all my visit to this temple is very peaceful from above you can have the view of Prakasam barrage and the Krishna river and flood plains and the adjacent conglomeration.

Vijayawada Durga Temple is a remarkable religious site located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. As a devout Hindu, I found my visit to be a spiritually enriching experience. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is renowned for its architectural beauty and cultural significance. The moment I entered the temple premises, I was captivated by its grandeur. The intricate carvings and sculptures on the walls and pillars showcased the rich heritage of Indian art and craftsmanship. The temple's sanctum sanctorum, where the idol of Goddess Durga is placed, exudes a serene and divine aura. The temple complex is well-maintained and offers various facilities to the devotees. The priests are knowledgeable and perform rituals with utmost devotion, creating a sacred atmosphere. The temple also organizes various festivals and events throughout the year, attracting a large number of devotees from all over. One of the highlights of my visit was the Navratri festival, during which the temple is beautifully decorated, and the entire atmosphere is filled with devotion and celebration. The vibrant colors, music, and cultural performances added to the festive spirit, making it a memorable experience. The temple's location on the Indrakeeladri Hill provides breathtaking views of the Krishna River and the surrounding landscapes. It is also conveniently accessible, with ample parking space and facilities for devotees. Overall, Vijayawada Durga Temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking a spiritual retreat or a glimpse into the rich religious heritage of India. The temple's ambiance, architectural beauty, and cultural significance make it a truly divine destination.

the Srichakra and initiated workship of Kanaka Durga in vedic ways, and avoided animal sacrifice Vijayawada is known in mythology as Vijayavata, and is mentioned in some inscriptions as Rajendracholapura also. it is a famous place of pilgrimage on the river Krishna, and ‘has a temple dedicated to Lord Siva in his aspect of Malleswara or Jayasena. Sage Agasthya is said to have been the greatest devotee of this deity and admirer of the deity’s several leelas. The origin or installation of Kanaka – durga Devi at Vijayawada is unknown. She is said to be Swayambu or selfmanifest. She also takes the aspect of Chandi or destroyer of the demon Durgama who was causing havoc among the peace – loving inhabitants of Dakshinapatha. One of these hills is called Indrakila, which is a famous hill mentioned in the Mahabharata as the place where the Pandava hero Arjuna obtained from Lord Siva an important weapon called Pasupatastra. The aspect of Lord Siva who appeared before Arjuna for granting him the boon is Kirata or the hunter. Bharavi in his celebrated Kavya “The Kirtarjuneeya” has immortalized this. The temple of Vijayeswara is attributed to Arjuna to commemorate the event of obtaining Pasupatha. The shrine has the representation of this and many other events of the Mahabharata depicated in sculpture form.

Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada is a revered pilgrimage site. Devotees praise its spiritual aura, stunning architecture, and the divine presence of Goddess Kanaka Durga. The temple's hill location provides panoramic views of the city and Krishna River. Pilgrims appreciate the well-organized darshan system. The festive atmosphere during Navratri adds vibrancy. However, due to the heavy footfall, it's advisable to plan visits during weekdays for a more serene experience. Overall, it's a sacred destination reflecting both religious significance and architectural beauty.

Om Sri Durgayai Namaha It was a nice experience to have a darshnam of Goddess Durga maatha. But when you visit for the first time they may get confused about how to reach to indrakelaadri hill (Temple) from railway station. I didn't find a source in Google about how to reach the temple before visiting the temple. There are only temple buses available to go to the indrakelaadri hills from the bus station and some other transport like auto or cabs from railway station, The temple bus looks like a goddess ratham design. Temple buses are charging only 10/-. Distance is also very less.

No parking facility for the normal people.. only with cup tickets are allowed on to the hill for parking and the parking on ground is maintained by brokers or else u have to suffer. It's a beautiful temple located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. There is no rush on normal days, however during important festivals, it is crowded. People may buy tickets costing Rs. 100 and 300 for the shorter and shortest lines respectively or prefer the longest line free of cost. Mobiles are not allowed in the temple. Those are to be deposited at the entrance. They charge Rs. 5 per mobile and give you a slip (but still some people carried mobiles upstairs and clicked pics outside the temple, NOT INSIDE). A photographer is available upstairs who charges Rs. 100 for 1 laminated photo, but doesn't provide soft copy. Photo quality is quite good. One has to climp to 7th floor to reach the temple and on each floor there are clean toilets. On some floors, you can buy jewellery, photo frames of Gods and Goddesses, tiny sculptures, flowers, coconut, toys, etc. Those who can't take stairs can go and come by lifts. There are icecream vendors, tea/coffee vendors outside the temple (downstairs). There are many shops on the way to the temple.

Nice view from the top of the hill. There is some rituals to put haldi and sindur in stairs. No mobile or camera allowed inside the temple. Nothing written in Hindi or English.

One of the most powerful place.. Durga Devi temple .. its my first visit and i was very happy with the temple Vibes. But the only problem is no rules and maintenance is done outside and below the temple.. .. i prefer people to take vip tickets of 100- 500 and make you time easy and fast and best part is u can see it from very near..

I was planning to visit this temple from so long, finally blessed to have darshan. management was not good they said mobile not allowed and asked to keep in cloak room but there is a flaw.. people coming in 4 wheelers are bringing mobile directly from other side of the temple, they have special darshan ticket, i feel it's unfair. they should allow mobiles by taking a separate ticket. also darshan timings were very strict, i had to wait in Q line for almost 1 hour. there are no proper direction for prasadam counter.
