👍👍 On a recommendation I took an early (for Porto) dinner here and was not disappointed. The Boiled pot Pork ribs with blood sausage was fantastic and the service was excellent. I also really enjoyed the almond tart dessert. Fantastic! People often mention service, good, rice, restaurant, octopus, time, great, Portuguese, wine, excellent,

Lunch was fully booked. But staff helped us to book at dinner time. We had great dinner with Cheese starter and Rice with Octopus. Soft and tasty.

Exceptional atmosphere and service. Although full when I walked in, I was able to secure a table in 30 minutes, for which you get a convenient text notification. The food was exceptional, I had the sardines with the iberico pork to follow, and it went down like a treat. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating, and I never had an issue with the service.

Wonderful portuguese restaurant. We stumbled upon this place and decided to try. It’s in front of Casa Guedes. We were seated upstairs on a cozy dining room with low light ambience. We were greeted by Maria, who treated us wonderfully during the whole lunch. They bring olives, bread and oil as a starter, but they charge for it even though you didn’t ask. It was very good though. We had some pataniscas de bacalhau, papas de sarrabulho, tomato and onion salad and a steak for me. All the dishes were really taste and properly cooked. We drank a beer and a couple of Douro glasses. All in all 45€. Definitely recommend it if youmre in the area!

This was by far one of my favorite dinners in Portugal. My partner had the rabbit (available on Thursdays) and I had the acorn-fed Iberico pork dish. Both were fantastic but the latter was melt in your mouth delicious. We also enjoyed the Azeteiro (unpasteurized sheep’s milk) cheese and the house red and verde wines, which were excellent and very affordably priced. The atmosphere was cozy and not at all pretentious (a win in my book). Don’t miss for excellent traditional Portuguese food!

One of the best meals I've had, not just in Portugal. The service was really nice from the beginning, we didn't have a reservation and they were busy so we just had a beer first and they quickly got us a table. We ordered their own Verde wine, anchovies for starters and the octopus and rice in the pot for the main. The wine was fresh and crisp and the anchovies were delicious with a bit of bread. But the octopus was absolutely fantastic, super tender and yet very meaty and the rice soaked up all the seafood broth wonderfully. They had a nice chilli sauce on the side which was spicy, sharp and cuts through the richness of the fish. The persons working there were genuinely kind and passionate. I will definitely come back when I come to Porto again.

We had the grilled octopus and grilled Iberian pork. Was the most juiciest thing i have eaten. Would def come here again. Servers were very friendly and welcoming. Make sure you have a reservation as it may get busy for dinner time.

We had an octopus rice and a mixed salad with wine. The atmosphere was lovely and cozy. The staff were all friendly. However, If you are not really a big fan of salty food, pick dishes other than octopus rice. The octopus rice is naturally salty, not the fault of the restaurant, to our experience.

Delicious authentic Portuguese evening out. We ended up here by accident and were very pleased. We got the very traditional and tasty Cabidela 'rice with chicken and blood' which was amazing and a great big portion. Lovely wine and sardines too. The staff were lovely and accommodating, they spotted we were not from Portugal and took the time to explain about the traditional dishes. Would highly recommend when wanting a fancy evening in Porto.

We tried to come here last year but was not able to as we were a big group and got turned away. We tried to go back this time with just 2 of us and the experience was totally different. The restaurant is small so i understand why they don’t like larger group as they have very small space. Food was. Excellent but dishes are big so we did not manage to try their signature dish- fish and rice cooked in broth which looks like it can feed 6. All salads were very well done and i had the codfish fitters 6 pieces which also was big as a starter. We also had lamb which came with some vegetables. They have their own wine which is very decent. I do recommend going back in a slightly bigger group to try their signature dish. It is an institution and we saw a lot of Portuguese people lunching there.

Best meal we ate in Porto. We were guided here by our Airbnb host and were amazed. It’s half the price of restaurants on the river but much better food. Phenomenal acorn fed pork, absolutely amazing charcuterie, excellent wine selection (we had one of their Alentejo wines which was 94 points for us). Highly recommend.

The service was perfect. The portion of the pot boiled rice was enormous. It was indicated for two people but there was enough rice to stop hunger in Africa, be careful.

Amazing food & service. Be sure to try the Iberico ham, fried sardine, cod fish tempura, the pork ribs with sausage stew is amazing, you can ask for their homemade sauce to go with it. Wines are amazing too. Fantastic staff

Good location but cold food. Found this nice place on a backstreet, so thought we give it a go. But that was a mistake! Got a great spot on the upper floor and ordered the salmon and the rump steak. I took some time to get the food, but when we got it, cold... I had a couple of minutes before our dish came noticed that the food elevator from the downstairs kitchen had made a noice, the server opened up the hatch and walked away, I then realize that it is our food sitting in the door waiting to be served, but no one served us the food until several minutes later. I told the waiter the food was a bit cold, he just said "I'm sorry, please enjoy". I ate a cold steak, bad did not enjoy... So, it could have been more, the taste of the meat and onion sauce was fairly tasteless, and boring chips and a gigantic broccoli was the side dish, all cold that as well. Only gets a two star for the location, otherwise I only deserves a one. To bad... Well I recommend you go somewhere else, maybe the burger place on the other side of the street.

Fried sardines and octopus with tomato rice, sausage, fried cod were good. The pork dish was just ok. Atmosphere was good but the service was not good. Our server wasn’t trained at all even though he was very kind.

Lovely food and good service. A family type restaurant. A small area of tables on the ground floor and some more tables upstairs. The food is delicious and served hot. The price reflects the quality.

Lots of local people recommended and visited. If you want to try and enjoy traditional Portuguese food, here is the one. (Heard Not many places left to have Portuguese food.) I had Alheira and cold fish with potatoes. Both are good but little bit salty for me and If you visit with companies and shared the different food would be great. Also my server was really nice to treat me.

One of the best restaurants where we have eaten real Portugees food. Its almost strang that they haven't got a Michelin star nomination!? Food is honest, tasty, cheap. And the service is fast, good and they know their products. You can sit either out- or inside.

This is an excellent restaurant with outstanding food. It’s the perfect couples restaurant. The service is outstanding, and it is not at all expensive. Try the octopus with rice. Honestly, it’s the best octopus that I have ever tasted. If you’re looking for a classy restaurant with great food and service, look no further. You found it. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Nice place and nice food but it took them one and half hours to serve our order. Too long time to wait on a Thursday evening. Really disappointing. What a pity :(

Nice authentic place to try local dishes. Soup was ok broccoli overcooked. Tomato rice average and soggy fried octopus. Nice location.

Worth the slow but friendly service. Absolutely amazing cooking. Like everywhere else, the wine selection is well behind the cooks' talents.

The food was pretty good, but it was not quite what was on the menu. The service was outstanding though! I think the service was better than the food which sort of makes up for the food

Fantastic restaurant with excellent Portuguese food. Our server Maria was outstanding and looked after us very well. Excellent advice about the portions which are copious. She was under pressure but made sure we could enjoy our meal and the great experience of the restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Again a very well visited restaurant with some good quality food. Vegetarian option are only 2 in the mains and I had the vegetable sausage which was served with some spinach blanched but not salt or pepper. Their home made chips are excellent though. So if you are a vegetarian then this is not the place. The sausage itself was soft and dry. They should at least think of a sauce to go along with it.

A must in Porto. We went to Solar Moinho because a Portuguese friend of mine suggested us to do so and we were not disappointed. The place is wonderful: a typical house with nice staff (that could speak very good English). Prices are a little bit over the average (but not that much) but I can assure you that it is worth the cost. The foos is typical, tasty and the amount of food is more than enough. I highly suggest the Bacalhau Frito with onions and potatoes (even better than the one I had in Braga) and the rabanada with ice cream, simply delicious.

The service was good - we walked in at 7.30 and there was no table, but the kind waiter reccommended we check back at 8.30, so we had drinks at a nearby bar. Come 8.30PM, there was a table waiting for two of us. We specifically ordered the arroz polvo (octopus rice) and bacalhau fritters, and it was delicious. It is enough for 2-3 people, so if you come in a group of 3-4 people, you certainly can try more of the dishes.

Was recommended this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Atmosphere was chillaxed. Food was really good. Servers were great. Was even treated with a little chili sambal on the side. It is slightly pricey but very much worth the overall experience.

Stumbled upon this place after eating here for the first time nearly a decade ago. I remembered how delicious the patiniscas were then and they didn’t disappoint this time around either. Rich and tasty just like last time. My husband got the goat and was quite satisfied at the amount of meat versus fat on the bone. I also got the cheese platter which was lovely and we had the rich chocolate dessert. Lovely waitress, cosy setting, fabulous wine.
