I sent the below text by email to Hotel Miracorgo on 8th July 2019. I had no acknowledgment, so perhaps this method will be better. "Vitor Thank you very much for the kind help that you and your staff gave me, when my motorcycle broke down, on Saturday 29th June. I had to have a second-hand wheel fitted, because so much damage had been done and I missed my ferry. I caught the Santander to Plymouth ferry on Thursday 4th, a day late. I have only, now, had time to compile an email to you. I apologize that it was not sooner. I hope that I shall stay at the Mira Corgo on my next trip to Portugal. All the best Muito obrigado!"

It's not a new hotel but it is very well maintained. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony and the bathroom was a good size. The bed was so comfortable that we seriously considered booking an extra night so we could stay in bed for the day... Really! It was that good! The hotel also has 2 fantastic balconies adjacent to the foyer and breakfast/restaurant room with a really good view of the river gorge and is close to the new walkway - which I would recommend trying as it's really good. We really enjoyed our stay and they were kind enough to let us keep our car in the carpark during the following day while we cycled the ecopista... Nice parrot too..

I have stayed here many times and have mixed feelings about it. The rooms were comfortable but in need of some renovation by the last time I was there. The dinning-room is huge but with a nice atmosphere, at a time with a good piano player. In that same dinning-room I had very unpleasant situations, one of them while at a family reunion with several waiters totally neglecting the table service (keeping away, not looking, totally unavailable) in such a manner that led me to fill a formal complaint. On another occasion, on a hour-changing day (with people still confused about what time it was, really), some staff members tried to prevent some guests from entering breakfast room because they were late, without giving them some tolerance giving the understandably mistaken time. For quite a few years the hotel seemed to have an ongoing problem with personnel and an obvious lack of qualified mid-managers. Still, I rate it 4 stars, I don't even really understand why... It has the potential, it can be OK when everything goes well. Great view from the top floors balconies. Furthermore, it is very central, easy walking to everywhere in the old town and has an easy parking. If only they get it right...

Nice staff and good location but it’s underwhelming for the price tag. Breakfast wasn’t great either. The pool gives it a nice touch despite being cold and the view is good still. I recommend nonetheless

Did not stay in a room but is located next to the city centre on the edge of a ravine, with lovely views. Restaurant is on the lower level and limited parking is in front.

This hotel was definitely amazing and i had a great time in summer they make sure the rooms stay fresh and i love it but yet a problem i wish that they change is that the internet on the higher floors is absolutely terrible

The lift door opened to a pitch dark 10th floor when we checked in to our room. The motion sensor at the corridor took about 2 seconds to activate. So, it was an unnerving moment for us. Good to save energy, but at least leave a night light on at the lift lobby! Breakfast was below average. Not much of a selection for ham (only 2 types) and the bacon were sliced very thin. Also, fruits were not cut, so we had to DIY it. The saving grace for this hotel is its location which is just a 2-3 minutes walk away from many restaurants and also the good view of the valley next to it.

A large well maintained hotel. Comfortable beds, our room was quiet as requested. Good roomy and comfortable reception areas. Excellent underground parking. Restaurant a bit pricey for standard.

Nice hotel. Minus stars because the water was boiling hot in the shower and bathroom sink. Even turned to cold it was still too hot to touch. Had to skip a shower in the evening because of this. In the morning I let the water run for 20 minutes and it was slightly cooler. Very strange. Nice rooms and service though. Great breakfast.

A really nice hotel in Villa Real, with a fantastic view! Free parking, and free breakfast. The staff was fantastic — I left my credit card in my room(!), and they helpfully reached out to me and forwarded it along to my next hotel.

Very nice hotel in Vila Real. The staff was very kind and attentive. Because of the curfew and covid restrictions the restaurant was closed (but the bar is open until midnight-which offer cold and some hot beverages) but we were able to order a delivery via the Glovo app. The room was very nice and comfortable, with a nice comfy bed and with wifi. They also offer free parking and a continental breakfast until 10am. The breakfast was supee nice. They offered fresh fruits, cereal, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, some dairy (cheeses and yogurt) as well as eggs and some charcuterie, some spreads and assorted bread (croissant, cereals, plain and what it looked like sourdough) and also some pastries like chocolate croissant and pasteis de nata. Very nice and complete for a continental, the staff super nice in the restaurant as well and the view was lovely. I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

..one of those slightly dated, but still opulent hotels you find across Portugal. Clean, large room and a good breakfast hosted by a wonderful staff member who shared a giggle with me as I tried to fit into my supplied plastic gloves for the buffet!
