IMPORTANT. Logistic information, especially for Family with kids. Visited in March 2022. The miradouro is easily accessible also with young kids (5,6ys or even 2/3ys in a baby carrier). The road is mostly flat and surrounded by amazing green threes. The walk from the starting point is about 10/15 minutes. Only at the very end there is a steep staircase, but safe and feasible. The road until the stairs is also accessible to cars, but the gate at the entrance is usually closed. To reach the miradouro: drive until the large parking slot of the “Miradouro da Lagoa do Canário”. From there you cross the road and walk in the street behind the gate. You follow the road and in 15 minutes you are arrived. In the same street you can also take a short downstairs (1/2 minutes) and visit the nice lake do Canario. View is beautiful and definitely worthwhile to visit, considering also how easy is to get there.

A truly breathtaking magnificent view!! Well worth the hike, even though it was a short 15min easy hike. From here you can see the beautiful lakes that sit on the craters of previous vulcanos from the island. Just be mindful that the weather in Azores changes very quickly and frequently, so you might be unlucky to find fog when you visit. If that was you're unfortunate case, then please do visit in another hour or day, it will be well worth it! There's plenty parking spaces just by the entrance of the trail leading to the viewpoint.

This 4.9k hike was great. It took us a minute to understand the red and yellow blazed markers, but once we understood their notations, following them became a breeze. It's beautiful and something that could be easily and enjoyably hiked in a couple hours. We were told about spotazores.com, a website with live webcams around the island and that helped guide us to know what day we should go here to best capture the beautiful weather.

Arguably the best view in all the Azores, given the proper weather. Be sure to check the webcams before going and keep in mind the weather changes very fast there. Go early if you want to avoid the crowd.

Simply amazing. Azores at its best! Photos cannot do justice to this wonderful place. Around one km easy hike to the vista point through a lush green forest. Well maintained path is worth every step. View of the crater lakes and the ocean is breathtaking. If you have one day on the island Boca do Inferno should be on your list od places to see. And then drive down the town for a drink or light meal at the Green Love, before taking a late afternoon plunge in the ocean.

Literally Heavenly. I went twice to experience it in the different visibility. Beautiful metaphor for life what just because you can’t see beauty doesn’t mean it’s not there!

Amazing trail, with absolutely stunning views, the crater or the ocean. Your pick, this is an extremely scenic hike that’s not too demanding either. Very accessible by car, we did the complete loop and it took us 4 hours to complete it. We enjoyed the serenity and beauty of it, definitely will come back!

One of the best spot to truly admire the beauty of Mother Nature. Highly recommended to go in the early morning by 7am (literally there is noone at that time) and to check on SpotAzores the Webcam for the weather, otherwise you'll have a notsogood experience. I'll post a picture around lunch time, foggy, and in the early morning, crispy clear!

No doubt this is the best view on the island! We parked the car near the road, free of charge. When you finish with the main view, go to the left for more beauty - there is a path. When you get to the edge, it is veeeery windy. It is great that this miradouro is still free. The weather is constantly changing so even if it is windy or rainy, try your chances, you may be lucky. We didn't expect that many tourists in October. I can't imagine how crowded it is in summer...

Few words can describe the true beauty of this place. That’s because I am not a poet or language major. If I would, I’d probably use words like breathtaking, amazing, gorgeous and so on. Must do on good weather for maximum views. Fairly easy walk to get there from the parking lot- worth the minimal effort.

Undoubtedly one of the best scenic spot in azores. The panoramic view from the mountain top towards the two volcanic lakes is amazingly beautiful. Make sure to visit when there is a clear sky to have better experience. There are also short trails which can be taken to hike around the place.

You can have the view of the 7 Cidades lakes, it is beautiful. Perfect for a drone flight. The hiking to arrive is short and simple. Only the last 100m is muddy/clay and it is better to have appropriate shoes, in particular after a rainy day. It takes 30min to arrive from the parking. The parking area nearby is very small and many parks along the street

Beautiful wide view on big amount of lakes, which were made by a vulcanic processes. Better weather you get, better view you have, but a foggy times here are magical and if you will wait here for like half an hour, fog may go away. Another must visit on Açores!

Spectacular view! I went at around 10am before it got super busy and I found parking easily. Make sure you go on a sunny day to get the best experience.

The views are amazing. Unfortunately a lot of tourists go over the boundaries to take even better photos and ruin the nature an experience for others. Quite crowded. Limited parking.

An easy walk from a car park will take you to this fantastic spot where you can see both lakes- green and blue in the same time. The location can be busy and parking bit tricky sometimes.

I recommend spending some quality time here to soak it all in and enjoy yourself. There are many areas available for picnics, so feel free to bring snack or lunch as well.

Beautiful view if the weather is good (picture taken during slightly cloudy and hazy conditions). Fairly short trail from the parking spot.

Very rewarding hike. It’s an easy trail with a beautiful view. Try to wear closed shoes as there were some muddy slippery parts that people with flip flops struggled to overcome.

One of the best point to enjoy the landscape of the Sete Ciudades lakes. Lake of Santiago, blue and Green lakes

Incredible lookout point. Note that at the time of this review, it doesn’t seem like vehicles are able to drive down the gravel road to the lookout point from the Lagos do Canario parking lot. You will have to park there and walk which would take around 15 minutes, so plan accordingly if you want to catch the sunrise/sunset! Pictures and videos don’t really do it justice and you must see it for yourself! Dress warm as the clouds up there move quickly.

The view from up there is really beautiful. The wooden railing fits so beautifully in the scene. We also climber the surroundings for a few meters and it was also a good view, less crowded than the one with the wooden railing. It takes around 20 minutes to reach the miraduro from the parking lot near lake do Cavoa. Just follow the red path.

We didn't have luck with the weather, it was too cloudy and we could not see the lake, but it is a very nice walk up to the miradouro and back, with stops near the duck lake and the green forest.

This is my favorite spot on the island. To me it is a must-see! We lucked out with the weather, I hear it can be difficult to get a clear day.

Breath taking views! We tried this a few times as it was quite foggy and we were hoping for a view. The attempts were worth it. Go and enjoy the views and a short walk.

Super touristy spot. The view is nice. Arrive early if you want to avoid crowds (people are photoshopped out in a picture attached).
