at
the
base

the
historiically-significant
hilltop
Conventa
de
Penha,
this
Park
is
the
sight
of
the
annual
Feast
of
Penha.
Feast
of
Penha
is
the
3rd
largest
religious
festival
in
Brazil
with
origins
in
the
16th
century.
During
8
days
of
celebration,
one
million
people
participate
in
the
tributes
to
Nossa
Senhora
da
Penha
beginning
on
Easter
Sunday,
continuing
until
Monday
of
the
following
week.
In
2017
Prainha
Park
was
the
site
of
weekend-long
1st
Annual
Vila
Vehla
Jazz
&
Blues
Festival.
The
Chocolate
Festival
attracts
over
300,000
and
Feast
of
the
City
celebrates
the
first
arrival
of
Portuguese
settlers
to
the
State
of
Espirito
Santo
in
1535.
Festivities
for
Earth
Day;
Carnivale,
major
race/fitness
events
are
all
held
the
Prainha
Park
facilities
which
are
situated
adjacent
to
a
boat
marina,
Brasilian
Naval
Training
Camp
and
an
active
fishing
industry-yard.
There's
a
spectacular
from
the
Park's
shoreline
of
Vitoria's
skyline
across
the
ocean
waters.
Several
other
historical
gems
are
within
the
immediate
few
blocks.
