Shell cemetery beach is made up of discarded conch shells by fishermen after they have removed the edible flesh. It covers a wide area along the beach. The beach itself is not really suitable for swimming as the water is very rough and there are numerous stones which makes it a bit difficult to walk. It has a rugged charm to it, though, as it is not like the pretty sand beaches all along Sal. It has a wild beauty of its own. It's worth a visit.

A beach full of waste from local restaurants. After having eaten the conchs, the shells are discarded on the beach. Sometimes also with the plastic sacks they are carried in. Hope fishing for conchs is sustainable, cause this makes me kinda sad in its beauty.

the cemetery of sea shells is a couple minutes past the local beach gym, most shells are broken but still quite interesting to wander around a bit

Short walk from the main street in Santa Maria. This is one of the locations we're the fishermen dump the waste shells once the contents have been removed. Nice spot to to sit and watch the world go by.

This is a free site to visit. It is a bit of a walk from the pier. Lovely to go at sunset. There are a couple of benches along the path. Wear good sandals/shoes as the shells are pretty sharp

Publicly open space. As experience worth to see such an amount of broken shells and maybe be lucky enough to find your own, or purchase from other, 1€/shell

This was rather a useless venture. As the other people have said, the broken shells are just dumped on a 50 meter section of the beach. Walking back to Santa Maria was also not easy as part of the beach seems to be private, and there are some buildings built right tot he water blocking the way. You could easily not go here and save a few minutes of your life for something else.

No waiting, no entrance fee and if you don't mind a bit of a walk from the centre of town it's easy to find with a great little surf shack to sit and have a bit of refreshment and watch the amazing sea.

You can walk here from town. It’s a bit of a walk, but very and easy and chill. There’s a surf shack where you can have a beverage or sit down if you’re tired. Really not much to see here besides some broken conch shells. The ocean is nice and it’s very quiet here, but it’s the same along the beach.

Pěkná procházka z hotelu. Pár pěkných mušlí jsme tady přeci jenom našli.

Wysypisko muszli. Coś innego i wartego zobaczenia.

A strange place with a lot of broken shells. 5 stars - it is not an evaluation, just a number 🤷‍♀️

Crazy amount of shells on the shore. Very easy to find the location but you have to be lucky to find a pretty whole shell. When we visited, the locals were there from early to look for the nice ones what they use for making souvenirs.

Just some shell trash on the beach. But on this island do not expect too many touristic attractions, so it has to do as one.

It's literally a beach, made of shells, beautiful, but, you must know, you're not going to lie there and read a book, maybe if you bring a deck chair 😁 but it's very pretty to visit. And I enjoyed the walk all the way there!

Apanhar conchas e ainda ver o pôr do sol, é qualquer coisa do outro mundo

Polecam

Beach with shells, lots of broken shells, leftover from harvesting the eadible flesh. Can easliy sit and watch the world go by, we didn't have much time as part of an island tour.

200 bath per non vedere niente di particolare. Il sentiero n 1 è mal tenuto.

To nie jest atrakcja turystyczna… zwykłe odpady, zamiast kupować można sobie znaleźć muszlę i zabrać do domu( bez płacenia za „polerowanie” )

Quiet beach with lots and lots of shells . Ok to visit once if in the area , but not so great as to make a special effort to visit .

Interesting place to visit whilst on our bike ride. These are the left over shells once the fishermen have taken the creatures from them. Shells are all broken but if your lucky you may find a couple of intact ones that you can take for a souvenir
