He even took his time to describe what the sushi are made of. Overall, my experience was very good and I'd totally recommend this place to everyone!

I’m travelling alone so I choose restaurants where previous reviewers say that the staff were friendly, because unfriendly service can ruin even the best food. At Taberna Shakai I had really good food AND was treated very kindly by the friendly staff (as you can see in the photos) I had miso soup, octopus takoyaki, which were nice and light and maguro tataki. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented and the perfect amount of food for me. Visually a treat too!

Best Miso soup I had outside of Japan. Also my Okonomiyaki was very delicious. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff, for local prices a pricy (Miso soup 4€ + Okonomiyaki 12€ + drinks)
