We eat here once a week (at least) and always have the best food and service. And shout out to Coco and Kimmy who take awesome care of us! You can’t beat the view, either!

A nice place to stop, and one of the best smash burgers in St. Augustine. Extensive menu, including a kids and dessert section. Indoor and outdoor seating available- I usually prefer to sit on the patio outside overlooking the San Sebastian river. It has fans in summer and heaters for chiller days/nights. My usual order is the aloha burger with one of their various fry options- although all the sides are delicious. The sweet potato fries stand out- they’re thicker cut but always crispy and one of my favorites. It’s also one of the only places in town that does maduros (fried sweet plantains). Not a traditional sit down restaurant- you order and pay at the counter, take a ticket and they bring the food to you. Makes it nice for slow eaters like me, no rush to finish.

When I saw they were building something in this long abandoned bank, I was happy. Then I promptly forgot about the place. Apparently they've been open a year, and it took me seeing a Google review to go in. Glad we did. Really liked the menu, good options. They had indoor or outdoor seating, and we chose the outdoor area with fantastic views. The patio is situated where there was previously a drive through for the bank that used to occupy the building. I think it's the only restaurant on the US1 side of the water, apart a few food trucks at the marina. Food was really greasy. Over the top so. Great flavors underneath it all though. They were quite prompt, at both taking our order and bringing it out to us. Prices were fair too! It was a good experience overall. We'll try it again soon.

It was high time for lunch and so I walked on nto Jimmy Hula's down on Ponce de Leon Blvd/US1 in St. Augustine. I had not tried this place before though I'd driven by even several times a day in the last year. I was curious to finally stop in and see the menu! I love that I could walk up to the counter and order very directly what my lunch would be. I easily found a menu at the front of their desk and plucked it up for further examination. I love that not just one but several staff seemed to be at attention from behind the counter upon my arrival. The young man who took my order seemed to know exactly what to suggest based on just one response about another tempting menu item. There were many, many choices and the staff was able to help me sort myself out simply enough to select the perfect taco for my taste in hardly any time! By guiding me to look over the several variations of sauce and let one resonate to my liking, it became clear that the Treehugger taco had my name practically painted all over it! I was asked if I wanted a side with the complimentary chips that came along with my Treehugger single taco. The question was Pico, Guac or Queso for my tortilla chips. I selected guac--though queso and I have always had an on-again, off-again love affair. Mostly I just felt like repeating that nick-name affectionately given to this restaurant's vibrant green guacamole chip dip, haha. Go ahead--try to say the word out loud a couple of times fast. "Guac, Guac." I can't deny I was channeling my inner duck to complete my order this way. I had picked a seat at a table on their patio behind the restaurant. What a beautiful view of the water and marina nearby! The patio was a good space and I could easily imagine a party happening there or the Reggae Sundays that I learned about from Charles Bernard, restaurant owner of Jimmy Hula's St. Augustine. The November breeze coming off the water was brisk at lunchtime so perhaps a nice cozy jacket or sweater would be best for a longer meal to enjoy the view. Guaranteed, Jimmy Hula's will load you up a generous helping of their fresh guacamole, almost more plentiful than I thought I'd need in proportion to the number of chips that were delivered with my taco. "Never too much guac," I decided! I resorted to loading each chip with a copious chunk of that glorious green stuff and had no regret to dispel every bit of the luxurious guacamole with its lovely hint of lime teasing my taste buds every new bite. I might've added a bit more salt, but admittedly that would've only been an indulgence on my part if I did have access to a saltshaker during my meal. I enjoy salt a little too much on the daily and truthfully the taste of the tangy, smooth dip was just right without any modification. The Treehugger taco was the perfect selection for me! With sauteed mushrooms, black beans, zucchini, red peppers, melted pepper jack, onions (which must have also been cooked not raw, thank goodness for my taste), Jimmy Hula's Crema sauce and cotija cheese to top it off! Wow! I enjoyed every single bite of my lunch! I was full for hours from just one taco and had plenty of fuel on board for the remainder of my workday. Thanks for the good tasting bite to eat on the water here in beautiful St. Augustine, Jimmy Hula's. You'll be seeing more of me passing though to order up some righteous munchies in the future. Keep on keepin' on!

I hiI highly recommend this place. We went on a school trip with all of that implied. A lot of kids, moms, dads, and teachers trying to get lunch at the same time. Despite the extra effort Jimmy Hula’s team need to put, the staff handled the rush with exceptional efficiency. The service was quick and the food was still delicious. They managed to maintain their high standards even during such a busy period. The staff remained friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone got their orders promptly. Overall, it was a great experience despite the crowd. I will definitely come back with my family in the future. Thank you Elba

The atmosphere can not be beat. Really nice beachy vibe inside. Outdoor seating with a view of Old St. Augustine, the lighthouse and a nice little bar. We were greeted and instructed how to order. This place would definitely be better if they had a wait staff. The food was ok. Three out of the four of us were not impressed with our food. One person's food came out a full 10 minutes after the rest. Half of the food was either over seasoned or under seasoned. That being said, I think it's worth a repeat visit. Everyone has an off night. I had door dash from here a week ago and it was fantastic.

Jimmy Hula's was explain to me as a food truck without the food truck There's inside and outside deck seating areas- there's a garage like door near the bar so when that's opened up, you still get the pretty view and breeze from the water. You order at the counter, pay and put your order number on a stand at your chosen table. My tacos were huge! They have a variety of different tacos to choose from as well as a fee other things on the menu. I got a chicken teriyaki and the steak street tacos. They were both great! The Staff was helpful and kind. Give it a try🙂 *picture is blurry

Jimmy hulas fish tacos are always 10/10, but this st aug location is by far my favorite. All the staff is so friendly, food came out fresh & so delicious. Love sitting in the covered outdoor patio looking out at the boats & intracoastal. My dad was visiting from Boston and we had such a lovely lunch here yesterday. We loved & ate every bite!

Twice in one week! Great experience & even better food, we loved our first experience so much we came back a few days later. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and everyone is so friendly! The view on the patio is so cool, as a local it’s so fun to go somewhere that is “water view” that is still a casual spot. We will be regulars!

Sitting at the bar is like being outside. Great view of Oyster Creek. Love that they serve CBD beverages. Recommend the nachos with ground beef.

Amazing experience, everyone was SO nice and we received such a warm welcome. Charles gave the best service we’ve ever received and all of the workers were so nice. Management is very organized and food is AMAZING. Best food experience here in St. Augustine by far and we even went to places like Casa Reina Tacos were SOOO amazing!

Came into jimmy hula’s with little expectations and just wanted a quick bite. Was quickly greeted by Charles and given a quick guide on the menu and direction of the restaurant. The menu selection was vast and covered a multitude of flavors and combinations. Jimmy hula’s was first and foremost a taco eatery, so I chose tacos and was not disappointed. I am a huge foodie and can say these tacos were unique, fun, and packed with flavor. I wish I could’ve tried more! Our food was delivered with haste and food was certainly fresh. Me and my family went to Casa Reina the night before. We waited 2 hours, paid around $23 per person, and left overall underwhelmed. On the contrary, Jimmy Hula’s was quick, delicious, and perfectly priced. The view of the bay and lights of downtown were beautiful as well. I highly recommend Jimmy Hula’s to anyone visiting downtown St. Augustine.
