2 / 2 While wandering through the charming streets of Porto, Portugal, my unplanned adventure led me to the enchanting Ruta 9 Resto Bar. The journey itself felt like a serendipitous exploration, a whimsical discovery amidst cobblestone alleys. Enticed by the name, I stepped into a warm and inviting ambiance. The restaurant's American concept immediately stood out in the heart of Porto. As I perused the menu, the fusion of traditional American flavors with a touch of local influence intrigued me. I opted for a classic ribs with fries with a Portuguese twist, and it exceeded expectations – a culinary bridge between continents. The best walk ends in front of a moisty and delicious meat... We can always bring the doggy 🐕 box home, if we want some free belly for the ice cream, while we see on the screen the Super bowl halftimes... just like in the USA!

The waitress we got was very friendly and fun ☺️ The first dishes we got were a bit slow, I think it was because we got there right as they opened (they opened later that day, due to traffic). The ribs were nice, nothing else was great. The majority was ok, but fries where a disappointment, and the dessert also a big disappointment. The burgers were way drier than they should. And as first customer of the day, the first beer didn’t tasted awesome. The second one was great. The churros were ok, and the “dolce de leche” was divine 🥰

Sometimes your in a foreign country and have a hankering for a little back home BBQ and sports bar food and this place delivered. Ruta 9 is as close to an American style BBQ and Tex-Mex as you´ll find in Porto. I´m from South Florida and was really impressed by the baby back ribs and Tex-Mex tacos. Oh yeah, the fries and cole slaw sides were right on. For starters we had and I recommend the little whole ´potato skins´, these were super. Also, the hostess, Catrina was a delight and made us feel really welcome. I suggest that you try Ruta´s first for lunch as the place is pretty packed in the evenings.

It's so delicious and really kind. You can try on pretty Mexican clothes. I highly recommend it. 👍👍👍

Great American style food! We tried the bbq ribs and they are great, slow cooked and very humid with sauce. We also tried the tacos and they were excellent balanced The service is very kind, and music is great with 2000 classics

The ribs here were delicious!!! Smoked for 7 hours and they fell off the bone. They also served with BBQ sauce which is not common in Portugal, most ribs have a dry rub. The owner was great and chatted with us, I would recommend this place when you are in the mood for American food!!!

Very welcoming. We were there quite early on a Saturday and there were only a handful of people there. The menu is burgers and Mexican but the Mexican dishes weren't available. Burgers were good ( could have done with a few more chips though). Friendly people but an average burger restaurant.

We came with little expectations to find ourselves surprised!! The staff was lovely and they add a Venezuelan touch to an American experience thank you so much! We had cheese bites (arepas) and chicken fingers (tequeños) with some amazing sauces. Great portion and flavor We also had a smoked bacon cheeseburger and a smoked rib bbq burguer which came with fries and coleslaw. Overall amazing experience and great food!! We got a discount from thefork app but still accesible prices on a medium low range. Muchas gracias!

I was very pleasantly surprised to find delicious Mexican food and one of the best frozen margaritas I have ever had in Porto, Pt. I am from California USA where we LOVE Mexican food but rarely like it this much outside of home.

Great choice, you won’t regret it. This was our second visit and it was even better than the first one. We ordered the ribs and it is just delicious. My favorite part actually. We also tried the wings and a mix of appetizers, which includes a potato with bacon that is really good. We had a great time dressing up with sombreros and drinking sangria and tequilas. The service is so welcoming and friendly that you will feel as a friend there. Unfortunately it was too good so I didn’t get food pictures, maybe next time.

I came for the BBQ pork spareribs. They were cooked for 7 hours, making them fall-off-the-bone tender. I got the 500grams for €20 which was enough for me since the ribs had a lot of meat (ratio to small bones). You could also get 1kg for €30. The onion rings are crispy and super flavorful! Also the coleslaw is nicely in balance and tasted good! Would definitely go here for good ribs! Try the BBQ picante sauce on the side as an extra dip to spice up the meal a bit, it’s great :) The decor is nice! Thanks for the good food 🫶🏼

I wish the hostess never live that kind of experience we did there: to have booked a table, to have called that will be late 15’ and receive the answer “don’t wary everything is ok” and when they arrive to be waiting out at the cold almost an hour and tell them give us 10’….and then again 10’…. and after an hour to eat at a table in front of the door and the wind, in a restaurant without heat, with 2 children eating with the coats and looking forward for the time that you will leave from this place. The food was nothing special.

This was an amazing experience of Portuguese style american dishes! The speed and friendliness of the staff is great. The wings will change your life.

The ribs are just like what you get at home back in the States. Get them spicy if you like spice as the bbq sauce is great. Great place for a little back home comfort food after traveling through Europe for a couple weeks. Highly recommend.

According to Google the address is "rua da picaria 9" but I'd say the right address is heaven, because those ribs cannot be prepare somewhere else than heaven. Amazing food, good attention from the staff, completely recommended. Also take some mojitos!

If you are in Porto and you are looking for an authentic American fast food experience you have to come to this restaurant, the decoration gives a very nice and cozy atmosphere, the workers take care of giving you the best service possible, but definitely its strongest point is the food , presentation and flavors of the highest quality with extremely reasonable prices

This place has delicious food! The best ribs I've had outside of the USA. Great atmosphere, family owned, positive vibes. I'll be back!!!
