There are some good and bad things to say, which I'll mention afterwards, BUT unfortunately has BEDBUGS. I stayed at the female dorms and woke up covered by bites. The manager said that it never happened before, which is not true considering the other references written here, and considering the feedback that I've got from other staff members. I gave them a chance with another bed, but got bitten again. I wish I've read the feedback about bedbugs before choosing this hostel. There are other great hostels close to the city center, where i stayed longer afterwards. Just that you can understand the time frames: Swelling of the eyelid - about 2 days looking as a monster Intensive itching about 3-4 days Marks on the skin - still on me a week after it happened! And it will take longer to be gone. Advantages of the hostel: great location, nice breakfast, nice rooms, nice staff. Disadvantages: bed bugs, when walking in the rooms there is a lot of noise from the floor. Difficult to find a private place to change at the shower. Need to bring your own coffee or tea or pay for it when not at breakfast time.

This hostel was clean and in a really cool hip neighborhood. The facility was pretty modern. Walking distance from the river and other touristy areas. It wasn’t super social when I was there. Most people just kept to themselves. I wouldn’t classify it as a party hostel.

I played my portable radio too loudly while in the shower early this AM. I was wrong. When the hostel employee asked me to lower I had already shut the music off assuming that was why she was knocking . She kept knocking on the door and just came into the shower only stall. I was kind of taken a back. I was undressed. It’s a shared bathroom yes but there are locks on the door for a reason. And normal decency dictates that you never enter a shower area without permission. Her rational was that she knocked so that gives permission. Wrong. Especially when you are not a guest and you were not knocking to use the shower. When I came down I recorded the interaction. At the end of it. It was over at this point .I was standing at the door waiting for my cab and she starts calling me a crazy person under her breath but loud enough for me to hear. Wildly immature and unnecessary. This is no way reflects the hostel or Portuguese people , they are simply wonderful. There is always that one unhappy person. I hope she learns how to behave more appropriately with guests.

The best hostel I have stayed at in all my travels! Many regular hotels are not as clean, not as comfortable and not as customer friendly as Lounge Hostel. Smiling girls at the front desk, ready to help at any time (check-in at 1:30 am). Large, fully equipped kitchen. Room clean, comfortable bed, fresh linens. Large bathroom with shower, plus soap, etc. Fast internet. Everything was great ! Hostel only 5 minutes walk from the center of Porto. Price per night very attractive. I wish you all the best.

A lot of room for improvement even if you have 9.1 stars ⭐️ it is biased based on excellent-volunteer-staff who are covering a lot things that should be spoken about. 🛑Suggestions: Increase female dormitory and reduce the price - women don’t need to pay more for their safety and security. 🛑Add Curtains: The way the beds are organized doesn’t feel cozy always have to be on alert and consious. Also, some people are on their phones so the others can see their light, having a curtain helps people who are sensitive to light. 🛑Ageism: Pls separate travellers with age groups. Not keeping 50+ men with 18+ teens 🛑Food: It really doesn’t cost too much to add more things on the menu, really. Do a survey ask your guests what are their allergies and what they like to add on the menu! 🛑 Additional amenities: Locker for 4€ Towels for 4€ *Safety & Hygiene* is the most important. We’ve just had a pandemic, make sure your goal as a company isn’t just to make catch up money but keep people safe either from monkey pox or covid it’s contagious. 💜 I’ve met lovely people most importantly it’s the people who work there giving their extra kindness that goes a long way.

Awesome hostel, recommended. My only disappointment was that the room had no heating systems.

I recently stayed at a hostel and I have to say, the customer service was outstanding! The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great stay. They were always available to answer any questions I had and gave me great recommendations for things to do in the area. Overall, I was really impressed with the level of service and would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay.

Had such a wonderful stay at Porto Lounge Hostel. The location is amazing and the rooms were very comfortable. Loved the balcony and the entire environment of the hostel. Plus points to the staff that were very friendly, especially Lucas at the reception. Will definitely go back!

I had a great time here! It was easy to get to know people, thanks to the sociable breakfast and also lots of other solo travellers come here. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, shout out to Diogo, Fabio and Belle in particular! Rooms and bathrooms were clean and well organised. Location was also good. I would recommend to anyone, especially other solo travellers!

Very nice, modern hostel in a good location in Porto (10 minutes walk to the train station and most of the main sites). The shower was very large and was only shared between my (private) room and another private room. Had an enjoyable evening of roasted chestnuts and liqueur also while there. Staff was very nice. The bed was comfortable. The only very slight negative is that noise transfers between the rooms and floors very easily. I could hear every step my neighbor took. This is, however, very common in older European buildings, which is why I always travel with earplugs anyway. As long as you don't have inconsiderate neighbors, it shouldn't be a problem.

BEDBUGS!!! Complete infestation. Do not stay here. I managed one night and then was awoken by another girl in my dorm room who was upset. Looked at her mattress and it was COMPLETELY covered in bedbugs, I've never seen anything like it. They were everywhere. I've just spent a full day of my holiday in the laundrette in Porto getting all of my clothes washed and dried. Found at least 4 of them on my clothes and a further 6 in my bed. Left the hostel at 2am to move to another hostel and when I complained about the infestation, they said they already knew about it as a girl has already left due to it. Why they let any new guests stay is beyond me. I wasn't offered a refund, instead they just moved me to a new hostel. I emailed to complain and get a refund which is the absolute least I would expect and received such a snarky, passive aggressive response claiming that I may have brought them in. Insulting considering I came straight from my home to the hostel, and my home absolutely does not have bed bugs, not even considering the sheer scale of the infestation is impossible for me to create in 1 day. There are plenty of nicer hostels in Porto that aren't completely infested and who don't accuse you when you try to complain.

Just checked in but the staff are super friendly with lots of local information. Amazing location! Staying in an 8 bed female dorm and from what I've seen so far, it's immaculate and very cosy..

Really nice hostel, clean with nice staff, strongly suggested for a visit in Porto!

The bed did not sewn that clean, the staff were ok, not the real hostel vibe that you’d expect. The room itself was not that clean either. Overall I’d suggest it if it’s just one night only and you’re not that sensitive to noise and cleanness.

My stay was great! The facilities had everything we needed, the shared spaces were clean and the staff super helpful (even at dawn, which was a big plus for me who arrived late). Finally, the location was great, allowing me to do everything on foot (even if there is a metro station a few minutes away).

Amazing! Super clean space, well maintained and the staff is so cool!!! I loved my stay with them. Also if you do not have solid plans, join the free city tours. And the best part, the hostel is well situated, you can walk to almost all the places.
