Amazing experience again (it was our third time dining here)! The tasting menu is wonderful and the service faultless. We felt that the team had really pulled out all the stops to make our evening special. Every course was delightful and the wines were very well paired. We thought they were very generous with the wines too, often coming round with top ups if we finished while still on the relevant course. Overall, the restaurant at The Yeatman remains our favourite special occasion place and we’re looking forward to our fourth visit some time next year.

The Yeatman Gastronomic can be most concisely summarized as a stain on the Michelin name. This place did not live up to standards I nor my guests had expected. It confuses me how this place achieved two Michelin stars. It is more fit for one. Coming out to around 250€ per person it is not worth the price. Service: The service from the start was not amazing but it was good. There were friendly staff and our waiter was very friendly at first. Later into the night as the table became more of a mess and seemingly nobody wanted to clean it for multiple courses had we made a comment. After this the service somewhat declined, not as much friendliness and a cut in the connection created with the staff. I would say overall the service was average and you can easily find many more restaurants with better service. Atmosphere: The atmosphere was nice though, but it was difficult to really devise a theme the main dining hall had nothing special to it but the views over Porto were breathtaking. Food: Onto one of the more important aspects, the food. Every person is different and has a different taste so take my comments with a grain of salt. But the food was simply not good. It felt basic, it felt like they were simple dishes that could be acquired in much lower level restaurants than this one. The presentation was of course nice but the taste did not invoke anything special, any good feeling. It just felt like food, not the work of an exceptional kitchen. Experience: The experience is probably what this restaurant mostly excels out. As you begin the night, you begin in the lounge where finger food is brought out and you are given the opportunity to learn about the restaurant and the key players in a small book. Once this is finished you move to the main dining hall which as said previously is nothing special. But one aspect of the experience I most enjoyed was being brought into the kitchen and having a bit of finger food in the kitchen and being able to overlook the process of creating the food. It creates a much greater personal connection between the guest and the kitchen. Overall if you are in Porto visiting or even live there, there are many other alternatives you can try. But as I say it is important to try everything at least once. Therefore, if you do truly want to try the experience go ahead. But if money is something that is kept in mind when going to eat, this place is not worth the visit.

Very disappointed at the price - quality ratio. We stayed in a standard double bedroom for 2 nights at a cost of about 300 euros per night (no breakfast included). Views are stunning and the hotel is extremely well decorated, but they have really missed a few basics and that is not okay for an upscale 5 star hotel. Shortlist of things that went wrong: - our key cards were not activated properly - the room was not ready for us when we arrived (always a nice touch to try and have the room ready an hour or two before check in time) - there was no daily replacement of coffees/teas in the bedroom (really unheard of in a 5 star hotel!!) - got given the wrong pillow when ordering from the pillow menu These mistakes made the experience feel less luxurious and honestly just as if I was staying in a much cheaper hotel. Can only summarise the experience by saying that the hotel prices are overinflated and I would not repeat the stay.

Had a lovely stay at the Yeatman Hotel. The property has perfectly manicured lawns and landscape. The view is a 10/10 overlooking the old city, bridge and river. I had dinner on the casual terrace for the sunset and evening lights as it was breathtaking. Unfortunately the service was much to be desired on this evening. I had a cheese plate and bread with wine for my starter. The service was so poor that I choose to end my meal at this point. The morning breakfast was wonderful with amazing staff and service. The buffet style was abundant with fresh choices and we truly enjoyed a beautiful morning.

The hotel with the best view towards the old town of Porto. We have a room with a huge terrace where one could enjoy the beautiful view of Douro and the old town. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet has a wide fresh choice. 2 minutes walk to World of Wine, 5 minutes to the riverside and about 15 minutes to the old town, which is on the other side of Douro. As it was in Jan, we could only swim indoor, the pool is very well built, swimming with a beautiful view of the old town and river is plainly deluxe !!Unfortunately, the 2 stars gastronomic restaurant is closed for its annual holiday. Will be back !!

My stay at The Yeatman Hotel in Porto was nothing short of spectacular, offering an experience that seamlessly blended luxury, comfort, and an unmatched culinary journey. From the moment we arrived, the hotel's attentive staff welcomed us with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for what was to be an unforgettable visit. The Yeatman Hotel, perched on the hills of Vila Nova de Gaia, offers breathtaking views of Porto and the Douro River. Its location is perfect, combining serene surroundings with easy access to the city's vibrant heart. The hotel's architecture and decor pay homage to the rich wine culture of the region, creating an ambiance of elegance and history. Our room was a haven of comfort and luxury, boasting sophisticated decor and an expansive balcony that offered panoramic views of the city's iconic landscapes. The attention to detail in the amenities provided was impressive, ensuring our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Waking up to the sight of Porto's sunrise, with the Douro River shimmering below, was truly magical. The pinnacle of our stay, however, was the dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The dining experience was an extraordinary journey through the flavors of Portugal, with each dish presenting a blend of traditional recipes and contemporary culinary techniques. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation impeccable, and the taste divine. The restaurant's sommelier expertly paired each course with the perfect wine, enhancing the flavors and making the meal an educational journey through Portugal's esteemed wine regions. The service at the restaurant mirrored the overall excellence we encountered throughout our stay at The Yeatman. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our dining experience memorable. Their recommendations were spot-on, and their passion for Portuguese cuisine and wine was contagious. Beyond the room and the restaurant, The Yeatman Hotel offers an array of facilities that we thoroughly enjoyed. The outdoor infinity pool, with its stunning views, was a peaceful retreat. The Vinotherapie Spa provided a unique wellness experience, combining the therapeutic properties of wine and grapes with relaxing treatments. In conclusion, our stay at The Yeatman Hotel in Porto was an overwhelming delight. It stands out not just for its luxurious accommodations and breathtaking views but for the exceptional service and unforgettable culinary experiences it offers. It is a true gem in Porto, providing an unparalleled experience of the city's rich culture, history, and flavors. I cannot recommend The Yeatman Hotel enough to anyone looking for an extraordinary visit to Porto.

We dined at the Yeatman Gastronomic restaurant. It was one of the best restaurant experiences in Porto! The 2 stars 🌟 Michelin restaurant has a classic Mediterranean vibe, combining bright décor and old world style. Each dish presents a new flavor within Portugal's diverse cuisine.. The exquisite food is paired with a stunning view of Porto across the river. The chef Ricardo Costa has exceeded culinary expectations for over five years.

Best meal I've ever had. The attention to detail was amazing. Everything, including the silverware choices, were well planned and superbly executed. I really can't say enough about how great this place is. From the premeal snacks, to the main courses, to the surprise dessert dishes...everything was fantastic. While they offered suggested wine pairings, they also accommodated purchasing wine by the glass or bottle. They even invited us into the kitchen for one of the courses. This place definitely earned their Michelin stars and should be viewed as a benchmark for what a perfect restaurant should be like. I would plan another Porto trip just to get to experience this again. Wow wow wow!

We came for the Day Spa Experience witj afternoon tea included. At 90€ each which includes a couple of hours use of the spa facilities, indoor pool with panoramic Porto views, 30 minute massage and afternoon tea with sparkling wine. I would just say if you book with dietary requirements do confirm they have received this. They had not received my request for a vegan tea but we were kindly invited back. Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Great hotel with beautiful views. Clean rooms and great service. And I cannot say enough about The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant, the Chef Ricardo Costa makes some incredibly delicious food. This is the place that you put on a list of the places that you want to return to. Highly recommend!

Where do I even start? We've visited quite some Michelin starred restaurants and love fine dining, however what we've experienced at The Yeatman was out of this world. From start to finish we were shown to three different locations, from a classy lounge with live piano music, to the heart of the operation, the kitchen, finishing in a large ballroom with a view over Porto. We were spoiled with dishes so soft but yet so full of flavour, with the most unique combinations, and looked like little art pieces on our table. This combined with an impeccible service and the kindest of staff. We can not lie, it isn't cheap, but it is a once in a lifetime experience worth every cent! We usually don't leave reviews this extensive but are so overwhelmed by this experience we wanted to share our love. We we're astonished that the The Yeatman Gastronomic Experience has but two stars... Don't hesitate and just go experience it for yourself.

This hotel is absolutely stunning, with a level of service that goes above and beyond all expectations. We were delighted to celebrate our anniversary here, and the young lady who checked us in and showed us our room was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. The breakfast is the best we've ever had, with delicious coffee and an array of pastries, and the room and views are equally exceptional. We will be back!

Stunning views over Porto, though if you're looking for City-Center lodging this spot is a hike from the sites. But if you want relaxation and port tasting, you're on the right side of the river and this is the place for you.

TLDR: the views are amazing, AC doesn’t function in the rooms in the newer part of the hotel, and service from the front desk was below average. My husband and I stayed at the Yeatman for 4 nights in May on our honeymoon. Despite not usually staying in such expensive hotels, we decided to splurge on the Yeatman after a positive experience at another Relais & Chateau property. However, our high expectations, especially regarding the service, were quickly let down. We accidentally made separate reservations for the same dates at the hotel. Although I thought I had canceled mine in February, I discovered a large charge on my credit card a couple of weeks before our stay. I contacted the Yeatman to explain the mix-up and requested a refund or credit for the cancellation fee. Unfortunately, I received no assistance and decided to address the issue in person upon arrival, expecting the renowned service to resolve it easily. Arriving at the hotel around 12:30 pm, we anticipated checking in and enjoying our stay. As we booked through American Express Fine Hotels, we were supposed to receive early check-in and a possible room upgrade. However, both benefits were unavailable, and we were told to wait for a text message notifying us when our room was ready. Hungry and thirsty, we went to the restaurant, where service was slow. The server took a while to come to our table, and it took nearly 20 minutes to receive our beverages. The meal itself was satisfactory. We were finally able to check in a little after 3pm. Our room was located in a new part of the hotel, quite far away and requiring two lifts to reach. Although this was not an issue for us, it might be problematic for those with mobility issues. The room itself was fine, but the highlight was the spectacular view. However, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning, and our room wouldn't cool down. Despite the pleasant weather outside, the room remained warm at 80°F. We endured a sleepless night and addressed the issue the following evening. The maintenance team suggested it was due to the slightly ajar door, but we had made sure the doors were closed. We let it go and tried to get some sleep. The next morning, we were offered a new room in the original part of the building, where the air conditioning worked properly. The remainder of our stay was uneventful, both positively and negatively. The spa and bar service were average, neither exceptional nor disappointing. The best aspects were the breathtaking view and the live music in the evenings. During check-out, I raised the issue of the cancellation fee. Although I maintained a polite tone, the hotel staff claimed there was nothing they could do, citing their policy. It was disappointing that they didn't make any effort to help resolve the matter, considering the hotel was fully booked during our stay, and they incurred no losses. Regrettably, we ended up losing nearly $500. The manager's response to our concerns about the stay was dismissive, blaming the warm weather. However, the temperature didn't exceed 75°F throughout our visit. I can only imagine how warm the room would have been in the height of summer In conclusion, our stay at the Yeatman was disappointing.

I went for a drinks on the terrace at the Yeatman. What a great experience! Yep, it's not cheap, but the service is outstanding, you are made to feel really special regardless of who you are, what you're wearing etc. The views of Porto are stunning and they have a good food and drink selection. Oddly my favourite part was talking to the Falconry handler (yes, they really do have two full time birds of prey to ward off the seaguls from stealing your food/pooping on you). The lady was so lovely and we enjoyed the insight she gave us into the birds. Top place, live a little and get yourself a drink here!

Truly a unique experience. You start off in the lobby with a couple of small bites before being taken to the kitchen to meet the chefs and enjoy a course with them. This is followed by 8 courses all delicious and creative. The ingredients are excellent and some of the combinations quirky but they all work well. The staff are fantastic, well informed and easy to get on with. I’d recommend doing the first seating at 6:30pm as that way you’re most likely to get a table overlooking some amazing views of Porto. It’s of course pricey at €450-500 for 2 people but I genuinely feel that such an experience is very tough to find elsewhere and worth doing at least once.

Restaurants that earn Michelin 2-Stars are going to be good, no matter what...and The Yeatman's entry definitely earned theirs. There might have been 15 courses in this meal! Even though each is small, they add up...by the end, we were both fulfilled and amazed. As you might expect, the presentation of each course is a show unto itself. The menu was extremely creative and innovative, and of course the wine pairings were perfectly synchronized. The service was immaculate. We even got invited back into the kitchen for a brief tour, and met Head Chef Ricardo Costa...who has earned both Michelin 1 and 2 stars in multiple locations. Fabulous dinner, beautiful view of the river and Porto...but the food and the service are the stars at this show. Not to be missed.

Service 3 star 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼; food maybe 1 to 2 star - a bit more zing than you'll get in France 👍🏼; view 2+ star (beautiful view of the river and city); decor probably not even 1 star 🫣 - it looks old and run down; like they built it in 1980s Beijing and never had any more money to refurbish it during the last 30 years. €558 for 2 people, only 1 had wine pairing... Slightly more expensive than your average 2 star restaurant. 3 hour dinner.

One of the most incredible places I’ve stayed in my life. A sanctuary above the hustle and bustle of Porto. The views, especially over a sunset dinner, are to die for. If visiting the city treat yourself and stay here for even just one night, and be sure to take a dip in the infinity pool! Excellent wine list, all offering a ‘by the glass option’ too, and a top breakfast. Rooms are generously sized and all with that incredible view!

  • 4/5 Sara 11 months ago on Google
Food was delicious, presentation was amazing. We got the wine pairing but unfortunately spent a lot of our dinner with an empty glass. Or got a new glass when our old one wasn't finished, or didn't receive our wine before the dish. Weren't offered a taxi to get home, just rookie mistakes you don't expect from 2 stars.

We had dinner in June for my husband’s birthday. The restaurant should not even be mentioned in the Michelin guide, the menu is very bad and overpriced for the quality it offers (250 EUR/ person, drinks not included). I wrote to them an email Asking to prepare a small birtday cake, they confirmed it is ok but at the end of the dinner they did not even bother to bring it at the table. We would never try it againg

I spent one night at the Yeatman in Porto. The building is amazing, with beautiful views of the river and city; the rooms (a bit too warm in our case) are spacious with comfortable beds and a private terrace; the bathrooms have walk-in showers with great pressure and baths; the reception area and living rooms are cosy and elegant. Everything looks very well maintained (although some the toilets at the reception floor smelt a bit) and the decorative tiles here and there and the maps on the walls are adorable. The spa includes a steam room, sauna, jacuzzi (although colder water than expected), a peaceful shower circuit (my favourite), warm "beds", and treatments, which I didn't take. There's a well equipped gym and indoor and outdoor pool. Being December, I only swam indoors. It was quiet and big enough to swim. I used the complimentary lockers and showers in this area. Everything was clean and the staff at the spa was really helpful and kind. There's a nice selection of drinks at the bar and we sat at the hotel terrace, enjoying the good weather and views. The breakfast was delicious. There was a range of fruit, yoghurt, bakery, seeds, juice, bread, charcuterie, infusions, and warm options. The hotel is right by the WOW district, which is great to go out for food and/or drinks. However, don't expect to be by the city centre. It is a nicely secluded place.

TLDR: Exquisite! We were greated by the friendly and professional staff and taken to our first seating with piano music playing in the background. Here we had the first couple of snacks and a glass of wine. Next we were leaded to our table in their restaurant where we had a stunning view over the river and the bridge. I can recommend the 18:30 seating, if you want a table with a great view. The menu consisted of I don’t know how many great courses and the wine pairing was perfect. We had the course which really reminded us of our home country and tasted SO good. And because we loved it so much we were lucky to have it twice! This really describes how good the service is at The Yeatman. Thank you so much for an absolutely amazing night!

What to say when you have had a wonderful experience, one you wouldn't hesitate to recommend? Everything about The Yeatman exceeds expectations! Awesome location, (the Porto view is simply one of a kind) warm and cosy interiors rounded up by extremely friendly staff and quality live music, provide the receipt for great moments that you wish to remember. 10 out of 10. Thank you

An absolutely incredible hotel with breathtaking views! All rooms face Porto and have what must be the best views in the city. The executive chef earned two Michelin stars for their signature restaurant and heads all cuisine in the hotel. It's a hotel for wine lovers with a wine-themed spa, an extensive (!) cellar, and all types of cool wine events. This hotel should be on very wine-lover's bucket list. It is stunningly gorgeous!

What can I say, everything about this hotel is absolutely perfect. The welcome we received upon check-in, the location of the hotel, the hotel amenities and the overall service is absolutely amazing. There are a few restaurants within the hotel, the one on the 9th floor with outdoor seating has amazing fusion food. The soft shell crab in a bun is delicious and I totally recommend it. They also have really nice cocktails. The room was spacious, nice and clean, with an amazing view of the river. There is a detail that was new for me, but I loved it: a pillow menu. They have over 10 types of pillows and you can choose which one is your preference. The bed was nice and big, and the mattress was quite comfortable, for a change! The Spa is amazing with plenty of options: Turkish bath, sauna, roman bath, jacuzzi, etc. The hotel is situated close to the Port Wine cellars, and it is by the river, so it is easy to walk down. The hotel also has a partnership with 7 different museums close by, that are part of the World of Wine (WoW) experience. From a nice wine tasting, to a walk along the river, everything is close by. I totally recommend it.

We loved our experience with The Yeatman. I would definitely recommend going near sunset as the tasting experience begins on a lovely patio overlooking Porto. From there, you move into the dining room and even get to take a course in the kitchen. We loved it!

We stayed here 3 nights. Overall we enjoyed but there are things to watch out for. Location is fantastic for the view across the city and I would recommend the upgrade to a room with a terrace view. Expect to have to get taxi etc. go go places in city. When you book direct with hotel you get breakfast, parking etc. included in rate, those will add up as cost extra so consider if the direct rate is actually better after extras. Breakfast is not great, cook breakfast options are weak, coffee is only out of a Nespresso pod machine etc. not 5 star level. Other eating options beyond the Michelin restaurant are not good, almost like they put all effort into that and the others are not then improved. Expect to book better places to eat outside the hotel and have to take 15-20 Uber to them and back.

    - One of the room service cleaners came into my room in the evening of 26 October for cleaning or whatever when I was out for dinner. Before leaving the room I had inserted my home key card instead of the card that hotel had given me upon arrival because I only got one and I didn’t want the electricity to be cut off. And when I came back the card just disappeared and then I suddenly called the reception. The reception told me that the cleaner didn’t take anything and left my keycard in the room. So I insisted that he/she took my card as I was searching for it in the entire room and couldn’t find it. A few minutes later, the reception called and said they found my card and sent the room service manager to my room. She just gave this card back, telling it was the card the cleaner took from my room, I was so tired so I reluctantly took it back from her. And today I got back home from my trip, the card didn’t work. So I’m sure the reception and room service manager lied to me. They certainly took my card and threw it away and gave whatever the card it was, they could find at that time and gave it back to me. That was very unprofessional and I definitely will not comeback to this hotel. Worst service ever and liar!

This hotel is a must stay at when in Porto. Beautiful hotel, complimented by the most amazing views of Porto and the service throughout was on point. However, what exceeded my expectations was the Artist suite we stayed in. Not only views from every room, but the balcony was a perfect place to view the sunsets and which overlooked the entire city, a priceless view!

The experience was great! There were so many amenities and the staff was all so nice. The breakfast buffet was great and the view from our room was amazing! My daughter and my husband loved it too! We would definitely recommend it and come back.

For wine lovers and gourmets there is no way around this place. The amenities are also really good with lots of activities to choose from. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My few concerns and critics have been received in the most professional and respectful way. The rooms are tasteful and big for the price. The more rustic design is not for me, but that is personal taste. Very much to my taste was the 2 star restaurant experience :)

We stayed at Yetman for 2 nights and we fell in love with the property. Located in Gaia, on the other side of Porto this hotel offers an amazing view over Douro river to all its visitor and rooms. Our rooms was very spacious, very well decorated and the bed was simply on the comfiest beds I ever slept in. Breakfast was delicious, a buffet with huge variety of options available. We had dinner at the restaurant and I must say food was simply divine. Swimming pool has a very interesting shape and it is turned towards the river which is amazing: you can literately enjoy a drink at sunset contemplating the river. The hotel itself is a beautiful construction and the staff was very king and ready to help you with anything you might need.

My two friends and I came for dinner with the wine pairing. We made the mistake of walking to dinner up a very steep incline and showed up to our reservation out of breath and sweating. The staff were very kind to accommodate us with scented towels and each of the dishes were beautiful and delicious. The view from the hotel was also spectacular. All in all, a great experience.

The hotel is beautiful and very well located. The rooms are a great size, and the staff are lovely and helpful. We are very much hoping to come again in future.

Overall very beautiful hotel overlooking the whole city. View from the room was amazing. It was really picture-perfect. Massive terrace, panoramic windows, clean room, very comfortable bed (duvet was quite strange though and not that comfortable. Seems like 2 sheets just wrapped the duvet and were not really "closed" on it, what didnt make me feel good during the covid times). One of the best breakfasts I ever had with a great selection of pretty much anything you can want for breakfast. The place is really beautiful. At the same time spa was overpriced in our opinion (though still a great experience), restaurant Orangerie as well (for Porto levels). Which still would be ok if food would match. It was nice and interesting, but somehow lacked the "wow" factor. Thing that might have disappointed me though was the service. It was always very polite and all, but at the same time often distant and cold. Was a bit of a contrast to all the friendliness we have experienced in Porto so far. Its like if the staff was instructed to be robot-like - polite but without many emotions. (we loved our service at spa at the same time, this comment is not directed to spa personnel).

It is a beautiful hotel with excellent grounds. It is not near the city center of Porto. It is located on the side of the river near the port houses, which is fun. However, it is a 15 minute cab ride to most things in Porto that you will want to see besides the port houses. Not much is walkable.

We spent a 3D2N at the Yeatman Hotel, the room was clean and the services were excellent. Hotel located at the hill of the city. It has a super nice view from the room balcony and easy accessible to the city by foot (if you don't mind to walk a lot and climbing the staircases😄). Enjoyed the hotel breakfast with the city view.

Excellent facilities and good service . Wish we had more time at the hotel. If you’re staying at this hotel in Porto , I’d recommend keeping some time free just to chill out , hang by the pool and enjoy their lovely restaurant and spa.

I visited only the spa over a weekend. I booked the day before my appointment and had no issue finding availability. I highly recommend this to visitors exploring the area as it is the perfect relaxation while still getting to see the city. I did a barrel bath and a scrub (similar to a massage). Both were under “treatments”. Staff was very warm and professional. I never felt out of place.

This review is for the bar on the terrace (Dick’s Bar and Bistro). The view is great…the drinks/cocktails are (to put it mildly) a joke. My husband and I both ordered port focused cocktails and what we got was watered down tonic with ice and and a garnish. You would think from the menu description these drinks would have flavor. My husband’s drink should have included port, bourbon, bitters and mint. I ordered a cocktail that was supposed to include port, coconut liquor, pineapple, hazelnut, passion fruit, and apricot. We both kept sipping each other’s drinks…trying to find anything other than tonic, water, and ice! This is also coming from someone who prefers weak cocktails…so for me to taste nothing but tonic and water is saying something. To top it off, these “tonic water cocktails” were €16 and the service was beyond slow (there was only a handful of people on the terrace and it took over 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive). I advice sticking with wine or coffee if you go here.

Hands down one of the best hotels with a spa/hammam I’ve been to during my stay a few years ago. The hotel is large but you feel right at home wandering between the spa area and the pool and lounge areas especially the cigar room. Dining on the large terrace overlooking Porto breakfast and dinner was always a treat. A perfect place to go back to everyday after exploring Porto.

Don’t order food to the hotel after the kitchen has closed while buying drinks from hotel and expect to eat it. You will be asked to leave. Never experienced worse customer service from a hotel of this standard in my life. In a nutshell this hotel has beautiful views, nice rooms, assuming you can get the AC to work but acts like 3 star service.

We only stayed overnight due to a mess at the airport leading to an unscheduled night in Porto, and our desire for a top shelf experience to offset that. Based on 10.5 hours in the hotel, excellent service, amazing room, great bed, good extras. Rooms on floor one have a literal ten minute walk inc 2 X lifts to get to the main bar / reception/ spa would be only consideration. Pricey but worth it. Would book again (and book the flash restaurant in advance).

Seems the hotel staff only replies to reviews... so here is mine. 5 stars for location and views. Fabulous views, rooms all look out onto the river. Very beautiful property. 3.5 stars for the room. Great view as I said, comfortable bed, spacious room. Shower is unsafe. 1 star. I got stuck inside because the door closes so tight it cannot be opened by the small coin sized knob. Funny yes, but sadly true. 5 stars for the bellman and front staff 1 for other staff. I called 6 times for fresh towels and pillows our first night. Finally one hour later received them. I sent an email which was never answered. I just would expect better service from this quality hotel. No reply to an email is unacceptable in my opinion.

So much to love! The resort was very quiet when we were there - very few people. We absolutely loved the room and the view and the staff was so friendly! Loved the location too - away from the busy parts but close enough to walk to it all.

I cant say enough about The Yeatman Hotel in Porto, Portugal!! 5 stars isn’t enough! From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine (espumante in Portugal) to the huge/luxurious room with a 180 degree view of beautiful Porto, to the delicious breakfast, the infinity pool, the wonderful service! I could go on and on! We will for SURE be back in the future!!

We stayed at The Yeatman for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful, our terrace had an amazing view and the pool was divine. They also kept the hotel very clean. Months ago, I reached out about having a dinner on our terrace for our last night and was so looking forward to it. I’m a vegetarian and made sure they were aware. Unfortunately, the dinner was incredibly disappointing for me (so much so that they took it off the bill once I told them what the 3 courses were… a couple pieces of vegetables). My husband said his meal with delicious and he had large bowls of rice and potatoes with his meat so I’m not sure why mine just a couple of pieces of veggies. All we could do was laugh at the difference between our meals We also found dead spiders in our room and there was long black hair on the carpet, which was not ours, as well as some hair in the bathroom that was never cleaned The hotel was so beautiful but for the price, I’m not sure if we would be back.

If you are visiting Porto this the best hotel to stay at. The rooms are immaculate and well appointed. Stay in the rooms with the private patios overlooking Porto. The gastronomic restaurant was fabulous. 2 Michelin stars and well worth it. Made our trip to Portugal very memorable indeed.

Beautiful luxury hotel located in Gaia with a beautiful view. I just stay a couple of hours in the service room taking a coffee with some friends, so I don't have an opinion about room service. The ambience is almost perfect, in that night there was 2 musicians playing some "bossa nova" music, making some good vibes in the air. The decoration is very specific and gives to you that home feeling, I feel like I'm in my living room in that night. The landscape is perfect, Douro river at night looks very pretty. A must have experience for everyone, but don't forget it's a 5-star hotel, so if you don't have time and € to stay in the hotel, you deserve at least a cup of coffee (it costs 6€), the experience worth the money!

I have had the privilege of staying in some extraordinary hotels but The Yeatman is in a class of it's own. The Yeatman sets the standard for hospitality and from the moment you arrive into the lobby you realize this is going to be a unique experience. The staff give you individual attention and are genuinely attuned to your individual needs. The morning breakfast is unsurpassed and the selection including specialty coffees is an amazing way to start your day. The views from our rooms terrace were stunning and you felt like you hovering in the clouds. The indoor pool provides spectacular views across the river to Porto but the absolute must visit is their spa. Located near the pool, staff transport you to an area that takes you back in time to service and amenities you won't find at other properties. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the astonishing number of stunning Port wines, many of which we sampled. Sitting on your rooms terrace at the end of the day watching the sun set is something extraordinarily special and unique to The Yeatman. We can't wait to return to Portugal and The Yeatman.

The view and location are fantastic. The breakfast is very good. The rooms are very comfortable with the best view in the whole world. They are a little outdated but quiet. The air conditioners should be serviced because each time I have stayed the air could not cool the room and the unit smelled musty. The room was not "hot", but I prefer much cooler than what was available to me and felt that at this price range I should be able to sleep in a cool room. I also think they should not put enormous reed diffusers in the rooms. The smell is overpowering. The staff are extremely kind and I really appreciate them. Both restaurants and bar have great food. Common areas comfortable and valet parking safe and simple. The location is really very central and you can walk to everything. It's easy to get a taxi at the hotel, too. The only things I did not like were the spa and the lunch and tour at Taylor's. The spa was dark, very slippery, and most of it did not work. It is too complicated to go to the spa with going out from the reception to get a key, special sandals, and the changing room isn't very well equipped. The indoor pool area is frighteningly slippery (their special sandals were great though). I don't know if my experience was related to the improvements that were going on around the gym and spa but I wasn't impressed. The Taylor's tour and lunch were not very good and I do not recommend purchasing them with a room rate.
