What an exceptional little cafe! Extraordinary French baked goods. A real highlight!

This cozy little shop offers a wide range of delicious baked goods, from fresh bread to decadent cakes and pastries. Their signature item is their artisanal sourdough bread, which is baked fresh daily and has a lovely crispy crust and a soft, fluffy interior. But what really sets La Desserterie apart is their commitment to staying on top of the latest dessert trends. From indulgent chocolate lava cakes to trendy matcha desserts and fluffy Japanese-style cheesecake, they always have something new and exciting to try. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and offer recommendations. The shop itself is clean and well-lit, with a charming atmosphere that invites you to linger and enjoy your treats.

We stopped by for their gelato for the first time and WOW it was the best gelato I’ve had here in Santo Domingo. We also may have just ordered it for delivery for our lazy Sunday haha. Will be back!

Best sandwiches in the city, very good brownies also

In a city where all bakeries have croissants, this is the one place in town that can claim to have THE croissants. Don’t leave without trying the pesto cruffins or taking a few cookies and a sourdough loaf to go. A must.
