POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I went to the ER here to be treated for covid and I had to wait over an hour before any medical attendant showed any interest. Once they did, the entire medical team in this shift were rude and let me feeling like I wasn’t a person. This is the effect about covid, the medical staff don’t show any empathy towards patients anymore. If you have covid don’t go to this clinic.

Great place to go if you need good medical help. I've been to other places and they can't compare. Its expensive but worth it. Great doctors and lots of them speak English. Clean updated comfortable. Its like a hotel. All private rooms n suites no sharing.

Recently while vacationing in the Dominican Republic, my mother suffered a heart attack and was admitted into the ICU, for nine days. I was her companion and spent my days during her stay there as well. The atmosphere was always welcoming, clean and professional. The staff that I encountered was respectful and helpful. My mother received excellent care and I never felt fearful that this was not the case at Hospiten. Public relations, Katherine whom was my anchor, was steadfast and compassionate. Evelyn, co-ordinator, provided friendship and support. Dr. Candida efficient and skilled, and the nurses in ICU who cared diligently for my mom, ensuring her dignity. Words cannot express my respect, admiration and gratitude for how they do their job. Salute to all of you!

We were on a vacation, and my boyfriend fell ill with a 101F fever and had a very high heart rate. This hospital was super helpful. The staff was caring, and explained all tests and lab results thoroughly. He was able to recover completely. Thank you!

I am from the US and but my child was born here in Santo Domingo at Hospiten. I have been there at least 30 times for pre natal treatment, specialists, and pediatric visits. Yesterday we decided we will no longer go there. The lack of professionalism is incredible. The construction across the street and next door make visits very uncomfortable. The amount of garbage on the street outside the hospital is disgusting. I once brought it to the attention to the hospital's assistant director and she told me that it was not the hospital's property, despite the fact that the garbage is generated by hospital employees and patients and visitors. We have now cycled through two pediatricians and an OBGYN who gave us mediocre attention and at times questionable ethics Yesterday was the final straw when we took our 8 month old to the emergency room which is too poorly staffed to risk another visit.

Not the best hospital, after a surgery, they left me in a cold hospital bed in a cold room, they do their d&c without anesthesia, the male doctor in the emergency room was rude and childish. The female doctor gave me birth control implant in my arm without numbing cream. It was a traumatic experience. The staff need to be retrained and the facility need to be upgraded, how are you funded by government and not asking for money to be renovated?

Many thanks to the Hospiten Santa Domingo. Special thanks to Doctor Garcia, the team of doctors and nurses, they saved my wife's life. The procedures in the hospital are at the highest medical level. My wife stayed here for four weeks(jan 2014) in intensive care after the successful surgery of cerebral hemorrhage. Also noteworthy is the very good job of the public relation office. They have very good care of the relatives. That is the reason for me to give it 5 stars.

The worst place to be on when you want someone to save your life. Here, you will die. Customer service is horrible and they are a ripoff. If you are international traveler and you think they will accept your internationally accepted health insurance policy, forget it you will die and I mean it. Run from this place. They almost killed my son by forgetting a shot that he was supposedly get to save his life, because they thought they already gave him the shot. No accurate tracking method what so ever. your phone calls will never be answered. My sister was calling for help to check my son and no one came to help for 5 minutes until I come help. Horrible Horrible Horrible intity. One more important thing. If they say they will send a refund to your account, forget your money like you have been robbed on the streets. It will not come. Broad daylight robbers. Run. I will come back If there is additonal info to help the public.

The main doctor on the floor was so passionate almost make me feel I was in a big building in my homeland, I wish every trip from now on is as pleasant as visiting this place. The prescribed drug was just great and the doctor is a lovely person I cannot express how grateful this guy is.

Got into a pretty nasty situation while staying at bahia principe La Romana. A chirurgic wound from 8 days prior opened up and I was extremely preoccupied. Doctor Erika Moreno Ramos immediately assessed the situation and sent me with an ambulance with fantastic and friendly staff to the main clinic in Santo Domingo where I got urgent surgery from competent experts. The guys from the ambulance waited on me the whole time and even accompanied me to a pharmacy on the way back during the night. An extremely scary situation turned fine. A word of advice to tourists, be sure to have your health insurance in working order to have everything running smooth.

My friend needs to go to the psychologist after staying in this hospital. They treated her without any request, she was in a lot of pain and they ignored her in her bed. They didn’t do any tests or diagnose before pumping her full of medicine. In the end we paid for tests we didn’t do and paid almost 3 thousand euros.

I went in for a very simple reason - a broken bone in my foot (5th metatarsal bone). The first time I went I was told the x-ray machine was not working... then it an hour later it was. I have a feeling someone didn't show up to work on time... Every time I went I had an issue with my guarantee of payment. Every time. The same issue that they resolved the same way (the fourth and last time it took 40 minutes to solve). I'm not sure why the same people continue to have the same issue with the same paperwork. It's like people either don't want to help, or are too incompetent to do anything about it. Also on the last trip, it took 3 hours to get a simple x-ray done. At the end I was told I would have to come back the next day to get the images literally seconds before the technician came out and handed them to me. Incompetence and lack of desire to improve the service left me totally frustrated, and I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

Poor customer service! The worst experience with the reception and nurses(4th floor) they call there patients not by there names but how they look. Very disappointing attitude, horrible management, ignorant. Please don't go to this hospital, they will stress you then take you to ER to steal more money from you.

We had to admit our daughter for pneumonia while on vacation. All the staff was very kind to us and they were able to reassure us. They are great professionals!

I felt that I had been kidnapped and tortured at this hospital. The animosity was unbelievable. I was yelled at by the staff. Received sneers to every request (like could AC be lowered about two degrees in my room). It was only when I got on the medivac that I felt I would make it out of there alive.

Charge for treatments that they didn’t do, no real food, showed us results of blood tests we never made and kept us hostage so we couldn’t leave even though we paid a deposit. Worst and traumatizing hospital experience.

Called clinic to schedule an appointment to check on an ankle strain, customer service representative first asked if I was insured, which I am not and I was ready to pay out of pocket, the customer service representative proceeded to tell me the price of the consultation to be $4280 Dominican Pesos, equivalent to around $75 USD. Later, she asked for me ID number or passport number, I gave her my passport number because I am a foreigner visiting the country, and then I was told that because I am a foreigner and not a resident of the island, they will charge me $321 USD, that's more than 300% of $75! I could not believe the clinic is allowed to charge such an abusive increase in cost for the same treatment any patient would get no matter their nationality or residency status. Very disappointed at the abusive advantage they take of people in need of care.

Worst wait time I have ever experienced in my life !! I had an appointment at 7pm I was called to confirm and was told my appointment would be at 6 pm I arrived at 5:50 pm. This being their mistake they did nothing to accommodate me. I was seen at 8:15 pm. This appointment was for my 5 year old and I’m also pregnant and nothing was done. I arrived home at 9 pm after leaving my home today at 5:30 pm. I attached two photos the receipt of payment at 6:08 pm and the sonogram at 8:22 pm or am since the sonogram says am.

My experience with Dr lee in the Iberostar Costa Dorada clinic was amazing! it’s a welcoming environment and Dr. Lee works hard to make all her patients feel safe. She treated me and i immediately felt better. 10/10 overall!
