We had a blast there. Perfect for anyone: kids, couples, families, friends. If you want to explore at your own pace and just wander around, you can just walk and not take the train. We dissed the train and it was for the best, it was a great workout and we got to go in the nooks and crannies. Some parts are very jungle-ish and some other parts like the Japanese garden are just superb. I loved everything about it. The pictures do not do it justice.

It's really huuuge so we appreciate the idea to do the tour around it with a small train. There's a guide in it so she explained the most interesting plants we were passing by. The train should go every half an hour but they wait for more people to gather so we personally waited even longer. We loved the Japanese garden and jungle-like part over a river. I don't give 5 stars just because it's more arboretum to me than a garden. Trees definitely dominated the place. And two more things - the garden is so clean and well arranged so we really can't understand why the river is full of garbage. The guide said it was brought by rain but still... There are some solutions like nets or sth... I don't know, it just spoils the garden image. The last thing - I hate it when I have to pay 250% of the entrance fee just because I'm a foreigner. I know there are some countries (not mine) when it's normal but still I believe it's unfair. I was saving money for a long time to come here and I'm not a rich man just because I'm not from here.

Lots to see, huge park with lots of variety. The train ride was a nice way to get a feel for the park. The museum seemed dated.

Nature is always amazing HOWEVER it is not really worth it. Everything was closed inside "under renovation". They don't have any map and don't really guide you on where to go, where are the different areas. The Japanese one is my favorite (and long walk to get there). It is more a recreational park than a botanical garden. The train is supposed to come every 30min............well............ The lie detector said it was a lie. They don't have change but the lady at the entrance was nice and asked around. It is a pretty park but you won't see much. It is nice to take pictures (Instagram, wedding, etc) but it is not a botanical garden.

Amazing place to go take a walk. There's a lot of people walking, and the views make it peaceful. Ask about the membership they have. You can also go with your family and have a good time with the kids. They have new activities to do with the younger ones.

The Jardin Botanico in the Dominican Republic is a beautiful and serene place to visit. The gardens are filled with a diverse array of plants and flowers, and the natural surroundings make for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they do an excellent job of maintaining the gardens and providing information about the various plants on display. One of the highlights of the Jardin Botanico is the butterfly exhibit, which features a wide variety of colorful butterflies fluttering about in a large, tropical greenhouse. This exhibit is truly a sight to behold, and it's a great opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful and fascinating creatures on the planet. Overall, the Jardin Botanico is a must-see attraction in the Dominican Republic. Whether you're a botany enthusiast or simply looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to spend an afternoon, you won't be disappointed by this wonderful garden.

Beautiful place for family outings, weddings and just a nice walk in the natural surroundings. Very well maintained and clean, we enjoyed it. A train ride was an added bonus for our daughter. Highly recommend.

We went on a Sunday. The price is $7 Dollars and you can ride in the train. It is a good spot to go to do a picnic. There is a cafeteria called tinglar where you can schedule a picnic with a day of anticipation. It was fun

This is one of the most beautiful botanical gardens I've visited. It's a nice change of pace from the santo domingo fast city vibe. We walked instead of taking the train and it was more relaxing and gave an opportunity to see different wildlife.

Beautifully garden but there is some plastic trash, few toilets, signs, many areas closed The Japanese garden is one of the nicest part to visit. Hard to reach by public transports. Better take drinks and food ...when I visited it the food store was closed and the part is so big!!

Not much here especially after hiking in the countryside I saw a lot of these plants already. Just the Japanese garden and the entrance that is super nice. If you are non-Dominican you pay more for entry.

Sehr sehenswerter gepflegter Botanischer Garten! Der riesengrosse Park ist dennoch zu Fuß bewältigbar! Bei der Bahnrundfahrt würde man viel nicht sehen! Besonders hübsch der Japanische Garten und das Schmetterlingshaus mit charmanter Vorführung!!

The place is amazing with an incredible variety plants native to Santo domingo. What a beautiful place to visit and learn. Has amazing views

We definitely enjoyed our walk through the park. Lots of beautiful plants, trees, and wildlife. It was pleasntly quiet for most of the time as well. We would have had a better experience if there were more maps, especially at the beginning. There's a few maps scattered around the way, but only much deeper into the park. We visited on a Saturday and I was surprised how many special locations were closed--but I'm not sure if that was because of the day of the week, the time or the year, or if it was permanent. Also, we needed to cut our visit short because we ran out of water and there was no water for sale inside the park.

Went there from the town, paid for Uber and then they did not let me in as they had no change from 1000 pesos. I mean, you hand over a note of legal tender, and they can not let you in. No one was helpful, no one could change your note. Definitely not recommended. Bad attitude towards visitors.

Great place to go on a date. Super laid back, fun to just get lost in. A million romantic places to kiss. Would have given five stars but a lot of the individual exhibits were closed when we got there around 4pm. Wish they stayed open as long as the grounds themselves do. Maybe if you go in the morning you’ll have better luck. 🤷🏼‍♀️

A great place to come with your family, an oasis in the middle of the city. You can bring your food and spend a picnic day in touch with nature.

Such an unexpectedly peaceful and beautiful setting in the heart of the busy chaos of Santo Domingo. I really wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did. Highly recommended. But you’ll enjoy it most of you go really early and/or save it for a (rare) cloudy day.

A great adventure!! Spend time enjoying nature at it's splendor. Lots of flora to observe and learn from them. The trip in the train is an awesome ride to take. There are great colonies for butterflies and diverse fauna can be found at the main core of the park. The Japanese Garden was a great place to sightsee and get to know some oriental designs gardens. Overall, is a lifetime experience for people living in DR and also from abroad. 100% approved.

It is an Oxygen Oasis in Santo Domingo, it is better to arrive before 1 pm, it is relaxing and safe, bring water and food with you.

The garden is beautiful and well kept. You can lay around. Excercise if you feel like it or just go for a stroll. The tables in the cafeteria do need a good cleaning.
