It’s always a pleasure to eat a childhood sandwich just as melted cheese with green tomatoes! It reminds me of early years home breakfast! I like it just like that! Their my typical classic election at all times! It’s a family business that has stand through the years and prevailed. The shakes or juices are Typical from DR with carnation milk always. Ask for a “Morisonando”, or batido de Lechosa or just a Cereza juice, that will be a thrill but overall all shakes or juices are excellent as well as the sandwiches awesome quality that exceeds the price and that’s exactly what international travelers as well as local are aiming for…! Uhhhhhmmmm! Just picturing it in my mind makes my taste buds go Yesssssss!!!! Let’s order!!!

The deli turkey meat was not the best quality but it was edible, they have great sandwiches and options of them, great natrual juice/batida selection also. I will return

Good cheap food but terrible service and the kitchen staff needs to go back to elementary school to learn not to put hot foods in styrofoam, the stupidity is unreal, I hope the managers have a fun time managing these children, the cook put the fries in the container and it melted the container, absolutely disgusting and the staff didn’t do anything about it, terrible service

The meat wasn’t not Enough in the sandwiches 🥪 it was very greasy and not filling waste of money the bread was toasted okay but if I were you come with someone who speak Spanish or understand Spanish because once you buy and anybody there sees that you’re from a different country they will up scale the prices without you knowing and they will take the money and give them a higher tip than what they deserve There is a big fat guy there that takes your money and gives you a little bit of change back be aware

The sandwiches are overrated. The yaroa is a little dry. My kids didn’t like the hot dogs either.

I was curious about their new "tres golpes" which consists of Mangu with fried; eggs, cheese and salami. Just absolutely amazing. The Mangu was soft and the fried things weren't greasy, also it had onions on top. It is super cheap and it is enough to feed 2 people who don't eat lots. I shared it with a friend... Here I add the picture. Well... They are lot more than sandwiches 😋

Great! Quick and big sandwiches with delicious juices from tropical fruits with or without milk. Prices are around $4 dollars a sandwich and juice are very reasonable priced. You can tell that they are natural and are fresh cold but without all of it is juice. Excelent breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack!

It was good! I ordered a Chicken and Cheese Sandwich and it was good. Not the greatest one I have ever tasted but this is not the essence of this place. If you’re looking an EXTREMELY good and delicious sandwich, then this is not the place to go to. For what they offer it’s very good! We bought 2 chicken sandwiches, 1 serving of fries and 1 Orange juice and our bill was $660 Dominican pesos which is US$11.72 (American Dollars)

Ham and cheese sandwich is delicious. And the chinola is the best whether natural juice or with leche. Both are amazing

Makes great sandwiches and the some of the best most delicious fruit batidas I have ever had. I believe this is primary location of chain of restaurants. Check out the bakery next door. They cater primarily to locals and has that feeling of authenticity that you won't find in other sandwich shops from those other countries that I won't mention here. The prices can't be beat. The atmosphere is authentically Santo Domingo and the service is good. If you're expecting mythical North American pampered service, stay in your all-inclusive air conditioned hotel room, wrap yourself in 1000 thread count long-staple cotton sheets and order room service.

Services was good, food was good prices were extremely expensive, two juice with two Mangú cost mil pesos will all taxes they charge

Staple food for locals, no less. This is one of the very few Barra Payan locations that accept debit/credit card as payment method and have an ATM available in-site. I recommend the “completo” sandwich and “lechoza ca” smoothie. This place is a must if you’re visiting Santo Domingo.

Anthony bourdain went here so it has to be good right ? Well it did not disappoint. I love their sandwiches and batidas and the morir soñado is a must try.

The service is horrible. Thought this would be a nice place to have breakfast while I worked near by for a couple weeks but the treatment/service was horrible. Place your order ahead but please do not expect that to make to experience anymore pleasant. I have gone grocery shopping to avoid this experience for the remaining week. God speed. Update 4/18 - even if you place you’re order ahead for pick up the wait is 30-40 mins. They do not deliver between 12-1pm Monday through Sunday. That is way the waits are so long. They take deliveries but are not actually going to fulfill the order until they have a driver available. If you’re working or short on time this may be an issue.

Great sandwiches! We always stop by whenever we are downtown in the colonial city.

  • 3/5 Laura T. 2 years ago on Google
Sometimes you are lucky sometimes you don't. They have lost the quality of their products, the sandwiches are very dry and if order a fruit milkshake you will have more milk than fruit. They said that are accepting credit cards but they always have an issue with the card machine.

The best hot pressed sandwiches around!! This place is an institution and for decades the only place open in the hours where the late night and early morning overlapped. A crossroads for those heading home at 3 or 4 in the morning and those rising at that time. Many options but all of it good and reasonably priced.

  • 5/5 lenny r. 2 years ago on Google
Their sandwiches are delicious! Fairly priced. The waiting might be long. Their variety in fresh natural juices is also excellent. Note: It's a cash only business.

What I can say about this cultural institution 🤔 if you go to DR and you didn't stop by Barra Payan, you haven't been in Dominican Republic (Period) 😋😋😋😋😋 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Note - Best Sandwich and Shakes in all the Caribbean

Coffe is good, jugo/batido de frutas good, sándwich was about the worse one I ever had!!!!!

  • 5/5 maria r. 2 years ago on Google
This is a must for anyone who has not tried eating one of their simple but delicious sandwiches. Sandwiches are toasted to perfection with a crunch with melted cheese, ham, and tomatoes. Many options are available to your liking. They also have a wide variety of natural juices which you can also have as a milkshake if you so coose. A true cultural gem.

👍👍 The venue is very cute, the view on the ocean is spectacular. The staff was super friendly this day. The food was really good and arrived extremely fast. I had Mofongo (So delicious) and Sancocho (very good)! The only pros was the dessert.
