We’ve been coming here pretty frequently for the market and the restaurant. The restaurant is consistently pretty good and the smoothies are also fresh and taste delicious. My husband and I are both vegan/vegetarian so we can always find a decent selection of meals. However, my biggest complaint is the lack of price labels. Nothing in the market has a price labeled on it which is very frustrating. I don’t want to have to go to the register for every item in the market and ask before purchasing, and we made the mistake of buying two bug spray bottles which were extremely expensive and overpriced. I get that it serves a certain clientele but no one likes to feel ripped off. In summary, dine at the restaurant (3.5 stars) but avoid the market (2 stars) because it’s very expensive and lacking transparency.

So gooood!!! The smoothie was amazing 😻 The food felt healthy and not greasy. Very flavorful. Dessert was out of this world. The chips were just ok. That’s the only thing I would have changed. Sorry for my half-eaten food pictures. I couldn’t help myself 🤣 Some of the products on the market were not vegan (I saw a meringue with egg white). Just read the ingredients if you are vegan.

DBL is a dream for plant based, gluten free, and vegan foodies visiting SD. There are options ranging from pizza, pasta, and burgers to sushi and smoothies. The vegan Caesar salad is the best I’ve ever tasted and the bakery is an absolute delight (try the chocolate chip cookies or the sweet potato brownie). The ambiance and decor is modern and features real plants and an abundance of relevant health literature. It is a bit more expensive but that’s expected given the area. Definitely a spot to visit at least once while visiting La Capital!
