We were informed that the open-buffet lunch was included starting from the day of check-in. We attended the lunch, and while we were eating someone from the staff approached and informed that it was extra. We told him that we were informed otherwise in the reception but he refused and in the end they made us pay extra for the lunch. We definitely wouldn't eat there if we knew beforehand. We had to pay because of the reception's mistake.

Nice Marriott in a great location. Walk to many stores, restaurants, bars, etc. The concierge lounge on the top floor has a great terrace, accommodating hours, good food and drinks and an attentive staff. I thought the rooms were just a bit small but they were well appointed, modern and had a nice mini-bar. CAUTION: When you make your reservation and the note states the room has, "NO VIEW"...they aren't kidding! Rooms facing west have a view of a black wall ~20 feet away. I was in room 1516 and found this to be almost claustrophobic. At high noon, you couldn't tell what time of day it was because there was barely any natural light.

Hotel is nice, we’ll located in a safe area, wifi on and off….had to goto to the front desk everyday to get back on. Breakfast was included but I was not on the list….view in my room was as depicted “wall”. Beds were comfortable. Was unable to access level 16 despite I’m a Bonvoy Member….for all of the above 3 stars.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here - with one big caution. They were generous to upgrade me to a junior suite which was very spacious. I have Platinum with Marriott which meant I was able to enjoy their lounge. The lounge was fantastic for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast spread was great with made to order eggs available along with fresh juices on request along with it running until 11am. I had to be careful at dinner to not ruin my dinner out..... great dinner spread also. The drink process was fairly protracted. You had to order drinks from the attendants. Nothing was on display to indicate what was available nor was their a drink meau available. And the zero balance checks given at the end were just weird. I was here for two nights and my first night's sleep was absolutely wrecked by an outdoor bar with pumping and driving bass. I was unable to sleep even with earplugs. The music stopped around 1245am. Apparently, some new outdoor club opened. You will want to avoid any room facing to the west overlooking those roof top bars. I requested to be moved for my second night. I included a picture of the offending Rooftop bars as viewed from the junior suite. Thankfully, they were able to accommodate my request. This meant a downgrade to a standard room. Had they not done that I would have had to change hotels. The bass was that bad the first night. I understand non Marriott roof top bars are outside of the hotel's control and my review is only for the hotel hence my five stars. Overall, I think I would stay again but the poor night's sleep really put a damper on my only full day in Mexico City. So, I'm not so sure.

Hotel was great especially the M club.... EXCEPT we used the ice machine because it had a water purifier on back of it. I got sick soon after with Traveler's diarrhea. Later we investigated further and discovered the water purifier behind the ice machine was not hooked up to the ice machine at all and they were pumping straight non drinkable tap water in to make ice with. This is not acceptable and is deceptive.

Within less than an hour, the Jr Suite we checked into, had sewage come up from floor drain in the bathroom. We had to throw out some clothes. The front desk lied multiple times about getting it fixed and setting us up with a better room. They downgraded us to a smaller room that was supposed to be for one night. Then said it's for the rest of our stay... 11 days. Should be noted that the bell staff, lounge staff, and the rest are awesome. The front desk leaders don't seem to care about their guests and act as if it's a blessing that they let us stay at their hotel.

Please stay away from this hotel, the service is terrible. Be ready to spend 30 minutes at the front desk checking in, does not matter if you do the mobile check in. The front desk operates at one speed, SLOW. The rooms need to be updated, they are old. Be careful with the "free" services like breakfast buffet, they will try to charge you. If you like Marriott properties please consider the Sheraton Maria Isabel, the hotel and staff are outstanding at the Sheraton. Stay away from the Marriott Reforma.

We spent three nights here and loved it! It is close to everything and we only spent 3-5 dollars for Uber to see things we couldn’t walk to. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The ice machine worked well and they brought us more of the room necessities whenever we requested them. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety and was included for ambassador Marriott members, dinner too! We will definitely be back to this hotel. They went above and beyond to help us have a safe and enjoyable vacation.

Great location nearby Zona Rosa and The Angel of Independence. My room was a bit disappointing, after a quick inspection, I noticed the mattress was old and weathered seemly placed in the room the same decade the carpet and lounge chair were installed. I’m glad I brought my plug because this is the first place I’ve come across without a USB port, not even in the alarm clock. The water pressure in the bathroom was definitely lacking partially due the buildup on the shower head. The two hot tubs by the pool were having issues the first two days I was there, one wasn’t hot enough and the other one didn’t have the jets. There were a number of issues here that I don’t normally see I the Marriott brand that makes this location subpar. The staff was great though and very accommodating. Everyone from the front desk, bartenders, maids and attendants were cool. My room, even though outdated, was very quiet with very little hallway and exterior traffic noise.

The staff was pleasent and attentive, however, the key cards kept inactivating making it very inconvenient. I had to go down to the lobby everytime to activate them. Also the USB plugs were not working with out the charger connection plug. I would recommend changing your key card system. I know they explained that sometimes keys get inactivated if they are next to electronics which I made sure not have next to but that would still not work. Also, I traveled with my dad who was on a wheelchair, the Marriotin Mexico City Reforma, did not have handicap access to get to the spa, pool area which was very inconvenient for my dad to use the amenities. I feel that people with handicap inability should be able to have the same treatment and not be limited.

Clean rooms, good location. Customer service is lacking, like if they are doing you a favor. Bad experience on this Marriott location. The low floors rooms next to the black wall are a depressing experience - avoid those.

An amazing hotel experience from the first step in, until I exited a few days later. Exceptional service form the front desk, security and the M-lounge waiters. Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Loved the facilities and the proximity so many restaurants, as well as the Reforma district. Highly recommended!

Overall mixed feelings, at our arrival Karen at front desk treated us impolite with any questions we had. She made us feel as if we were wasting her time. The opposite happened with the staff at restaurant and swimming pool/gym areas they made us feel welcome and offer a variety of drinks to order and food. Another suggestion I have is about the towels , every day we got towels that had loose/torn threads . As for the buffet they offer a good variety of dishes and the price is very reasonable.

Quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed hotel. We were fortunate to have access to the Club floor. With it's very nice outside deck and meals - it was a great place to unwind from busy Mexico City. The best part of staying at this hotel, however, was the care and service provided by three spectacular employees on the Club floor - Karina, Magdalena, and Mauricio. These three people really made the Marriott Reforma our "home away from home" while we stayed there. Thank you!

This Marriott is not the same standard as the Marriotts in the states. There was a faint smell of sewage in our room at some point every day. The mattress was lumpy. The wifi is constantly cut off. We had to call the lobby everyday to be given an access code to get working wifi and we could hear the staff's annoyance on the phone at our calling every day even though the disconnectivity is the hotel's fault. The friendliness and willingness of the staff to assist varies day to day. Don't bother ordering room service. The food arrives cold, tasteless or hard. Be sure to check the receipt before giving them your card and adding a tip. They will try to double charge on items. While the hotel is centrally located, the overall stay is not pleasant and not worth the price. Do not recommend staying here.

This hotel is in an awesome location but that's about it aside from the restaurant on the 2nd floor and the Bar (AWESOME). If you're not fluent in Spanish, you're going to be at a loss while staying here. The TV and all communications are in Spanish at this location. Also, very few employees speak English.

This place had nice food service. Reading other reviews i was looking for little better steak meal. I have had much better steak meal experiances in south america. It was pretty average comparison what i have had. But still nice food experiance.

I travel extensively. Been to CDMX probably 20 times. This is the best hotel I have stayed at in Mexico City. The staff is simply as good as it gets. I would day "exceptional" and that is after 3000+ nights in hotels in 70 countries. Rooms are standard Marriott. Cleaning is impeccable. Hotel is in Great shape. Location is very good for business or tourism. Gym is good. Pool is good. Wifi works well. Executive Lounge and the team there are the best I have seen in Mexico.

We stayed here for 4 days. The staff on the 16th floor was so nice, helpful and friendly. They took care of me while I was feeling so sick. Besides, the buffet was very tasty, they have everything I could think for a meal. The ones I liked the most were the breakfast. Chilaquiles were the best!! 👌 Thank you, guys, for making me feel special.

The location is excellent, and the service was great. Overall, my stay was only a few days for work, so I didn't take advantage of much of what the hotel had to offer. My room was clean and comfortable... I wouldn't stay here on vacation, but for a work trip, it was a solid choice. The staff are super helpful and friendly with no issues. They stored my bag prior to checking in, which allowed me to go to work that same day. The room with no view is what it says it is, but if you are here for work, who cares. Also, if on vacation, why would you waste time in your room? So, all in all, it was a solid stay, and the staff got thumbs up for keeping the hotel clean and safe.

The room was awful. The water hasn't been locked, so it keeps falling. The refrigerator is out of order, and the items aren't filled. The reception manager was arrogant and offered me 500 Marriott points without an apology. even she told to me give 5000 points. I don't recommend it. I'm going to make a formal complaint to the head office.

They invented a no-show. I was checked in and they cancelled my reservation because of a problem with my credit card. I arrived and they offered to reinstate it. They did only to charge a a no-show penalty. They charged me at the complimentary executive lounge over 200 US dollars for a light dinner. Big discussion to have it removed.CDMX has dozens of wonderful hotels. Avoid this one. I am a Marriott ambassador member and this is my worst experience after over 20 years. In 1600 nights I have stayed with them, I never was ripped of like in January 2023. It was a birthday vacation and I got the worst gift ever.

The rooms are small and outdated. I was supposedly upgraded to the premium floor for the “better view”, but instead found myself staring at the other building. These were relatively minor problems. The bigger issue was that the concierge made an error with the pricing for the covid test or misstated it, then called me to ask if I wanted it sooner, telling me the actual price. When I gently said it wasn’t the price he mentioned earlier, he raised his voice to say “No! I told you…!” There should come some tact when talking to a patron, and the disrespect was unbelievable. Being talked down by the concierge is one of my odder experiences. I said never mind, I will have it done at another hotel.

This was my second choice for this last minute visit to Mexico City. Considering a difference of $400 USD per night I went with this location over Polanco location. Rooms and amenities are great. I have had breakfast and dinner and both were good. The Polanco location is just as good but this week the rates were much higher than previous visits and I could not justify it. If you are here for sight seeing then Reforma in my opinion is a better location.

We loved our stay here. The staff was very nice, the rooftop had a lot of great spots to relax and enjoy great views, our room was clean and well prepared, and the bar was great (perfect for sports). This hotel is centrally located; very easy to walk to fantastic restaurants, bars or morning coffee. The daily breakfast was a great perk!

Room wasn't ready when I arrived. The view from my bedroom was a solid concrete wall next door. The feel was a little lower end then expected.

A short Uber ride to many of the tourist places. Many restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The little bit extra for the 16th floor lounge is worth it for breakfast and morning coffee. Also, cool view.

It’s hard to review this because we were at sofital the night before, but the rooms are basic but clean. The pool area is a MAJOR slip hazard and my child fell and I almost fell (individually) the pool looks pretty in pictures but it’s about waist deep and has mold all on the edges, and is falling apart in some parts- it isn’t well kept. The hot tubs aren’t working properly and one was VERY dingy. I don’t think it has chlorine in it. There weren’t any pool towels available nor were there enough towels in the room for a shower. The room didn’t have enough towels for the number of people staying. The drinks at the bar were okay. They charge extra for wifi which feels very cheap in this day in age. The experience was just very… meh?

There is limited customer service, VIP lounge is marginal, check-in is horrible- they act as if your bothering them. the reason it gets two stars was for location only- the Sheraton is and remains the best place I've found so far.

When I arrived at 2pm my room was not ready and they made no effort to accommodate me even with Bonvoy gold status. They really know how to treat their loyal customers. 🙁. Maybe IHG will treat me better.

  • 2/5 Sam C. 4 months ago on Google
The overall quality was suitable for the price paid. This is not as high end of a hotel as other Marriotts I’ve stayed in. They do have many staff members on hand, restaurant, executive lounge, and spa services like you see in high end hotels, but the fit and finish of these services just wasn’t refined. They attempted a currency exchange scam where they offered to let me pay in peso instead of the currency I made the reservation in, but when I checked the rate I discovered I would have lost nearly $200 USD if I did. This was a new scam to me so I had to take extra time at check in to be certain the amount they charged was actually the reservation amount and I think my extra caution was a bit frustrating to the person checking me in, but in the end I paid the reservation amount expected. The quality of the food in the lounge was not good and they did not have hand sanitizer openly available. Hand sanitizer should be front and center for any buffet in this day and age. The room was fine except for stains on the carpet and slightly low water pressure in the sink. There was a lot of drawers and closet space. WiFi was slow and required multiple calls to get working. Something is wrong with how it’s set up. It says free for Bonvoy members, but doesn’t give you a place to log in. Had to call the desk to get a special code for access and again for them to walk me through making a technical change to my WiFi settings to get it to work (never had to do this for any other WiFi). Then the code didn’t work on both laptop and phone so I had to call once again. The location was near Zona Rosa. A nightlife area with lots of late night drinking and gay bars. The room was quiet and had a decent view, overlooking Reforma.

  • 1/5 Jason M. 1 year ago on Google
Booked on the Bonvoy app, and was quoted a rate in US dollars to be charged in local currency at check out. Unfortunately, the hotel is running a foreign exchange scam, because when they convert your USD rate to MXN at checkout your bill will be charged at a rate that is nearly 15% above the market rate - resulting in you paying 15% more than you quoted. Not sure how long they've been running this scam, but they claimed it was a "fair" rate when questioned.

Staff is outstanding! Incredible service as you would expect in any Marriott. Condiment restaurant is awesome, breakfast delicious and the 300 pesos lunch menu is a great value! Rooms were sanitized and had a small kit. My only recommendation is to add antibacterial liquid hand soap to rooms, specially during covid. Very close to everything

Excellent Marriott with very attentive staff that work to meet all of your needs. The best part is that it is located in an incredible area within in a 3 minute walk of the Zona Rosa. Hundreds of restaurants and very busy pedestrian crowd. Even late at night, felt safe because was always busy with people and lots of Policia even on foot patrol. Many foreign Embassies are located across the street from the Marriott Reforma.

I really enjoyed this hotel and the area in which it’s located. Wifi was good for work, room service food was delicious, Monserrat and her colleagues on the front desk were a delight, and my room was comfortable and clean throughout my stay. The hot tub by the pool area was nice, and the sauna was even better. Will stay again for a business stay.

Great location for mexico city, rooms are standard Marriott rooms. They don't really have a lot of room type variety. Lobby bar is well lobby bar pricing. But they play great music, but always close at midnight. Not sure why they almost kick everyone out at at midnight. Pool and spa facilities are great! Staff are alright, Mauricio in the M Lounge is amazing and will make you have an amazing experience. Great hotel all in all

The wifi is slow even with the premium option, the staff aren't welcoming, room is small and many have no view. No staff showed up at the fitness center for hours, no one answer when called. No hot water showering in the morning. No usb plugs in the room. Don't think it worth the price, with the same you can likely find better options nearby. The only reason I stay is for the late checkout that comes with the Marriott membership

The hotel was very clean and the staff was super kind. I just stayed last Thursday Thru Sunday with my husband and 2 toddlers. It was very child friendly. The executive lounge has amazing food and great service. I always found something my toddlers would eat there when they didn’t want to eat their food outside during the day. Magdalena in the Executive lounge was super sweet and very attentive to detail, so much so that whenever she made my coffee she remembered I like it strong and would add extra shots of espresso in the coffee and always came back to see if it tasted good and if we needed anything else. Please give my regards to Magdalena and commend her for her great service, which caused this 5 star rating.

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't regret it. Great location and hotel. The M Lounge is super comfortable and service is fantastic! - rooms are average, and unless you pay extra for view, your window will face another building

Great hotel! Very professional and helpful staff, and the hotel feels very secure. The photo in my review is the “king room, no view.” The room was very clean, well stocked, and very comfortable. The concierge in the lobby was extremely helpful in scheduling return flight COVID tests and taxis throughout the stay. If feasible, include the breakfast or the executive lounge to your reservation. The breakfast is great and well worth the cost. Note that the executive lounge also includes breakfast, so no need to buy both. The fitness center / gym is better than most hotels I’ve stayed at. It is well equipped with cardio machines, as well as a variety of strength training machines, cables, and free weights. Towels are plentiful and there’s a cold water dispenser inside. The pool is relatively small, but shielded from the weather and tucked away in a nice private area in the fifth floor.

The first room we got had some sewage problem. Every time we flushed the toilet, there was water coming out from the floor tile gap. I asked the front desk to get a new room which was ok. The hotel is in a good location. For Marriott platinum or above members, the M lounge provides good breakfast and dinner.

Stayed on Dec 2010. One night. Avoid this hotel. Elevators make terrible noise and you would NOT be able to sleep and rest. Room ok nothing to admire it is OLD and small. Breakfast also ok expensive and lacks quality and presentation from 5 star hotel.
